I'm sitting at the airport with my hopes and dreams crushed. I'm disappointed in myself knowing that I could have done better. I would not care if I played my absolute best and came up short, but I got to the big stage and choked. As you can probably tell, I'm out of the main event, and I'm pissed. I made one major mistake and couldn't recover.
4 limpers in the pot, I pick up AQ in the BB and raise it to 700 at 50-100 blinds, 300bb effective. Young bad player calls, Old dude calls and I've seen him call basically any 2 suited. Flop comes AJ6hhh, I cbet 1500, young bad player folds, old dude calls. Turn Q, I have Qh, I bet 2000, Old dude calls. River, is a 4, I bet 3000 trying to get worse aces to call, he raises to 12k, and I puke in my mouth. Obvioiuisly the only bluffs he can have here are like Khx, but in reality, all of his Khx, is always suited. Because he'll never have a hand like K2o in this spot. Unfortunately, I made a major mistake in thinking he somehow was drawing to a K high flush when how can he ever have that draw? I made a terrible call and he shows K3hh. This pretty much left me with like 13 or 14k. And after that I lost flush over flush for another monster pot, and utg+3 or 4 opens and I reship 66 with like 18bb, and sb calls with QQ. 6 in the window............ Q on whatever the third card is called. And that's my main event.
Vegas was a blast, but I'm ready to be home. I miss my own bed, I miss my computer, I miss my monitor, I miss internet poker, I miss my gf, I miss my puppy, I miss not eating like complete crap. I'm excited for the future. I want to be a 5/10 reg by the next time I'm in vegas. I'm gonna work hard, and succeed. I feel like my mindset has changed. I didn't tilt once in vegas. I didn't tilt when I lost QQ to QJ, AA to AJ, I came back the next day and played the best 11bb poker I could. I didn't tilt when I lost QQ to T7hh aipf for an 1800 dollar pot. I'm opening up my poker world. I'm learning hu, and will learn some plo. I like playing hu b/c it's different and a change. 2010 has been going well so far, lets keep it up!
