Fitness Goal Reached! Poker.. not so much!

First things first, I am FINALLY back on track 100% to my fitness! As of yesterday morning I finally lost 25lbs. I had been getting close and falling back (damn Holidays), but I finally managed to push through. I have a LOT more to go... but I'm confident I can keep it up!

I played some 1/2 at a local game last night and it just didn't go so well. Lost just under $300, but it was a good mix of no cards to play and coolers. AA runs into quads, AxJs on a Jx6s2s4sKs runs into 3s5s, then the combo of J, Q or K with a 2, 3 or 4. No biggie, was up over $1300 the last 3 outtings so this was ok.

Online wise I have made the (temporary?) switch to PokerStars. I decided to try and bonus whore it up for some free dough. Ran into a few issues however. First, I just can't get used to Stars. I'm so used to the FTP interface, the pot button, layouts, etc.. that it just doesn't feel right. Second of all, something is going screwy with my home network. I have a Wireless-N router with a Wireless-N NIC due to my computer being in the other end of my apartment, but I get some lag/dropped packets to both Stars and FTP. It's getting very annoying, and i'm still trying to find the problem. So far i've replaced the NIC to no help, flashed my router with new firmware to no help, and finally i'll try to replace the router itself. I know the internet connection is fine because I can play on my home theater PC which is connected via LAN. I guess maybe I can unplug that and plug in the USB wireless device...

Is this thing on?

Finally going to get back to blogging. I have had a bunch changing in my life, hopefully for the good! Working out 4 times a week, getting back to playing the micro stakes 6max, and just trying to change lots of things.

I've been playing live poker again as well, had a few good sessions. After seeing my live bankroll drop to around $500, I had some nice wins of $570, $200, $430 to get be back up to a decent start of a bankroll again.

I'll be blogging about poker, weight loss, exercise, life... pretty much everything going on!

I'm a believer...

So today started off bad. I woke up and played some poker before work, which I NEVER do. That table selection was outstanding... the results not so much. I lost just over 2 buyins from a combination of my opponents hitting everything for 30 mins... e.g. http://www.pokerhand.org/?3115493 and http://www.pokerhand.org/?3115498. Oh yeah, I decided to stack off and give away another 3/4 of a buyin when I couldn't fold my 3bet JJ on a 25Q board.

Came home from worked, watched the new Vitalmyth video on cardrunners (very very good), and decided to play some poker. I had seen another vid earlier in the week talking about the praises of 6Max PLH. I decide to give it a shot, and.. WOW. I know its variance and stupid small sample (87 hands) but man, people play horrible in PLH. How bad?
First hand.. villain was like 85/40 so I tried to get it in as fast as I could. A few mins later I had fun vs a villain who didn't have a concept of first level thinking. All in all, up 3 1/3rd buyins in like 15-20 mins.

I'll have to play some more of this....
