Braggin. Just Because I can.

Ok to start off I just want to say I know its a small sample size but I feel like Im DOMINATING 25NL.

915hands- 7.05 hours- $221.15 Won - 48.34 BB/100 -$42.65 rake

now I dont get any rakeback. i emailed FTP about it and they said that I couldnt because when I signed up I signed up with an affiliate that did not offer rakeback. so they're hands are tied. So pretty much im beat out on that.

I feel that bragging is ok. as long as you pay your dues. So with that Id like to thank everyone who helped(helping) with the "crushing microstakes" video series. If you get a chance to watch it. TAKE NOTES. I feel like a completely different poker player. Im actually playing the player not just thinking I am.

Crushing Microstakes

Howdy Yall. Im not good at writing blogs. i mostly ramble. so if you stick with me; THANK YOU.

Well I went through a very rough summer. I won like 15% of my races.

My Girlfriend is the one who actually made me realize why I was loosing so often. Since I didn't have a job during the summer; due to getting fired because of my friend/co-worker; i felt like the only way I could pay bills is by playing poker. So i found myself trying to win races that I shouldn't have even been in. She doesn't follow poker but she said; if your loosing alot of your races; why not try to avoid getting all your money in on a race, instead get your money in when theres cards out on the table and you know your getting your money in when your ahead.

I sat back and thought. and thought. and thought. and realized that I wasn't confident enough in my post flop play; so i would just try and get my money in preflop and hope for the best.

Well doing this created my bankroll to decrease pretty much exponentially; playing tournaments way out of my bankroll range; and cash games way too high; completely forgetting everything i've learned (not folding AK when i miss on the flop, etc).

Going from $500 to $5k back down to $500 in a matter of a year is a wild ride. losing about 75% of my bankroll in the past 3 months.

So I took a couple weeks off of playing poker. And even cardrunners. I came back this past week and pretty much started from scratch. I watched all 3 (so far) of the "crushing microstakes series" and I actually took notes throughout the whole episodes. I would re-read what i learned before playing.

Well my bankroll is now up to $950 (500 on FT) and (450 on stars). And I feel that I am CRUSHING microstakes and we're only half way through the series.

I feel like a winner again.

I guess CR is def. worth the $30/month if you use it in the right way.

After countless hours of studying....

Since my last (and first) blog; I've been doing alot of studying and trying new things out. As of yesterday I feel I found my rythm(sp?) back. I sat down at a 100NL table and within an hour i was up to $320 bucks. I'd like to thank ZillaB for his comment on my last blog. And he was right. When I set myself with a daily goal; I pretty much set myself up for failure. Looking back I realized that even if I knew I was running bad I would keep playing hoping to make it all up and end up in the positives for the day.

Well it only sunk me deeper and deeper in the negatives because I began to play more loose and just lost sight of basic poker plays and skills.

For the first two weeks in May i was down about $2,000. And now that we're nearing the end of the month Im happy to say I chopped that number in half. And hope that I never do something so stupid like I did at the beginning of the month.

But Hey, He who fails learns a valuable lesson.

Thanks!

So A rough Start To the Month of May

Blog by : Th4Sh4rk

This is my first blog. And Im doing it more for myself to collect my thoughts and hopefully review this later on in the month and hope things have turned around.

My Goals are:

  • Profit around $100 a day
  • Get 100 points on FTP (Ironman Promo) a day
  • Learn something new a day

So far this month i cant seem to obtain the 1st goal. All last month I profited $1200. I was happy with that number. And I decided that if I set a daily goal I can easily destroy last months number. But I find myself 8 days into the month and down a whole lot of cash.

I havent moved up in stakes. In fact I moved down in limits for my SNG (100+9 --> 50+5).

Ive been improving my cash game because I thats where I lacked the most.

I profit the most from SNG then MTT then Cash Games.

So Ive spent a reasonable amount of hours working on my Cash Games. Event #1 Came up last night. And I felt I was going to completely OWN everyone. I was feeling good. And got two-outted. I shook it off and headed to the SNG tab. where I didnt place in one tournament (6 SNGs after Event #1). I felt I played somewaht horribly after losing in Event #1. Its the most Ive ever been on Tilt and didnt realize it till it was all over.

This morning I woke up and decided to hit the tables again. Just to see if I was having a bad night. I said. 4 SNGs 1 MTT and then if I didnt do well then I was going to stop for the day and think about the past week.

I know everyone has swings. But I feel that if i think about my game and spend a couple days looking for leaks it will help slow down the swing.

I really dont have any friends that play at the same limits I do. They all play $1.25 SNGs and $1 MTTs and .05/.10 NLHE

So I dont know where else to turn but myself. So I will be spending the next couple of days looking for flaws in my game and watching videos that will help me with them.

If you actually read all of this. Thank You Very Much
