Well, I just wish to make a quick update. The weekends been rocky thats for sure, but I've found that I play a winning game over time so if I stay in the zone, I will turn around and win for the day. Thats not to say that I am implying that you shouldn't quit when you're down or anything, I've taken numerous breaks when I feel it is necessary, but I am beginning to do away with that fear of losing.

I feel that its perhaps a time where solid play is crucial on my part with this newfound fearlessness. Nah, not fearlessness, but rather a calm attitude towards the games ups and downs.

Ahh well, whatever, I'm bout to play the Sunday Hundred on stars, just figured I'd come shoot the shit a lil bit, show my stats for the last two and move on out. Hopefully tomorrow morning I'll have a big win to blog about...

Heres to hope =P

Take care,

Whoop tiddy Doooo!

So last night went well poker wise. I got frickin wasted afterwards though, whew. I was actually down at the begining of the day, starting to worry bout having another terrible Friday when I get stacked by this horrendous donkey. We wind up sparring for a while, here goes the battle.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2272618">Hand 1: Here, its early on in the session, I have seen this guy for I dunno 20 hands and his stats after 150 hands were 87/43. At this point there were mid 90's. I didn't give this guy credit for jack, I made a disgusting shove and like that, he stacked me.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2272633">Hand 2: Here, its a bit further on, I feel I've his range beat, his bet sizing is non consequential as he overbets everything, I overbet shoved all in figuring him to call with some trash. He actually called with a better hand, but like the nickle dime pro I am... I got there :)

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2272649">Hand 3: This hand was the largest hand I've won at 10NL. I have Kings and the flop is 443, I lead out and he overbet shoves AI. I tanked for a while here feeling that 4 to be in his range, but given our history already I felt he wouldn't play a 4 or 33 that way. I was correct, lolz...

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2272661">Hand 4: So play continues with him actually taking that buck fiddy or whatever I left him building it up to 11-15 bucks. This hand here, he gets a win on me where I'm just playing for image, hit a lil bit of nothing and call to be a donk before folding to his turn bet.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2272671">Hand 5: Another hand I play with him, I decided to just call knowing if I hit the flush he'd pay me off. He was just that kind of player that bets every scare card that comes. Unfortunately my card never fell and I helped him build up some more.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2272683">Hand 6: Haha, game frickin over donkey. This hand is so typical of this guys playstyle, I had him pegged from about hand 2 on, he would play every scare card like he had the nutz when he only had some minor holding. In this case I put him on a 5 6 or 7, nothing more. I was wrong in that he had a 5 and a 6, but I was almost 100% he did not have me beat here. Thankfully I was correct in my read on this guy. This run of cards was some of the most satisfying poker I've ever played, I only hope you can appreciate it... :)

Anyways, hope ya enjoyed it half as much as I did.

I'll leave out with the same ol pt and ev stuff.

Take care,

Arrived home from work a bit later then usual, those guys from NY were finishing up today so took them a bit to make sure everything was tight. Some really smart guys, cool as shit too. Made good with em as well so they'll have my back if I ever need them to :) Good times...

Anyways onto a bit of poker. Last night got home late like I said, but I'm tellin ya, they were out tonight, it was like bein a grizzly bear snaggin the salmon running up some river in alaska. It was grand. I killed two aces, my aces held, my kings held, certainly a + confindence sort of night. And to top it all off 2 frickin days in a row I made positive numbers. God, gotta love that. Getting caught back up from when I spewed all that money on the WSOP Steps lol. Man, I hate that. I'd be that much closer to 25NL had I never done the spew, but oh well, wtf can ya do. Just thankful I've managed to recover and as well realized what I was doing before I totally killed the roll. Some hands maybe to cry about and show off? Let me go fire up PT.

So this hand I lost right. It was my first big loss for the night and happened after I was already up 18 bucks. I mean, in my minds eye I never expected what this guy showed. I had him killed in my mind and was like jumping up and down when he raised my tiny please raise me bet on the river. DOH!

www.pokerhand.org/?2267350">http://www.pokerhand.org/?2267350">www.pokerhand.org/?2267350

LOLz, what can ya do? This next hand loser as well of course.. KJ again, hate this hand. Misplayed on my part obviously I was beat, I had been hot though so figured I'd call him down like a donkey.

www.pokerhand.org/?2267356.

Yeah, nice. This hand I am somewhat pleased with. Almost proud of :) So I open with p10 and flop comes a possible str8 which I didn't think he'd have so I bet it out. He called so I put him on a 6 or flush draw. And I shut the heck down. I was tempted to fire the river but I was like well he made his hand if he has a flush and I still feel like he has a 6 so I checked it down and lost the bare minimum there. Very happy about that hand.

www.pokerhand.org/?2267362.

So, onto some weiners... This hand I was going to the felt with in this spot. I felt I could be killed with a set but this guy was 79/24 and I was not giving this up here. LOL at his holding.

www.pokerhand.org/?2267367.

Yay king holds =P. Once again I can't get away from top pair. I didn't believe this guy though at any point. I felt he had jack just like he did. Thankfully I was correct. Probably -ev though :(

www.pokerhand.org/?2267371.

This next hand is somewhat standard, I was worried on the river though with that scare card, so I didn't bet as big as I wanted to originally. He musta been scared of that card as well probably not wanting to raise me as he originally planned but certainly had to call me.. Tks..

www.pokerhand.org/?2267375.

So one last hand for the win. Nice to have some reverse ace gankage.

www.pokerhand.org/?2267377.

Ok thats it. Go on, get outta here, go read a blog that is worthwhile and won't bore ya to tears. As always will leave ya with the PT stats and EV Graph from 3/13/08.

Take care,

Elemental Madness

So hey, whattup G? SSDD here, but let me tell ya bout it. Yesterday was another dragger at work. I've got a couple guys down for NY changing a bunch of logic in my plant, so I can't really check out CR during the day and I just sit there and watch them hack on the puter all day. They're some really cool guys though so we crack jokes all day. I got busted hard by a co-worker telling a story bout how this girl one time told me to come look, she had something she wanted to show me. Well co-worker numbah one says, " What his 12" Cack?!?! " really loud and we all just busted a gut laughing, he definitely got me good. Ok POKAH!!!

So poker went good yesterday. I recieved my book from Tommy Angelo, he left a really cool, fittting inscription for me, " T0mmy2T0ne, Remember -- To win at poker, you have to be really good at losing :) -Tommy " Guess he has read some O' the ol blog after all lol. But I tell ya, he's certainly got me pegged. Something I've been strugglin with ever since I've been playin any competetive anything. I hate losing and never really learned how to be a good loser, well internally, I do think I'm a great loser in everyone elses eyes LOL. I just struggle with it in my own eyes. I do think I'm coming around though, I question myself from time to time as you'll obviosly read about in these posts, but I think I am able to regain my confidence each day before I hit the tables.

Yesterday went well at the tables, though, so that was good. I sweated a guy I met through the poker groups thread found here. He is a 25nl/30/nl guy so he's playin a bit higher and hasn't been at it for as long as me, but he seems to have his head on straight, He won a 45 person SNG while I was watching with some solid play and had 3 tables of cash goin. Hopefully we'll get better at the whole rail/sweat thing and improve each others game.

But for me, I played round 500 hands and was positive again scorin bout 1.5 bi's perhaps a bit more. As for hands, I made this really good read on a busted flush draw by a shortstack that I was really proud of myself for making the call. I am not truly sure I played this hand optimally as I was either winning barely or destroyed. I just felt on the flop that he was lying so I popped him, I led again on the turn smallish and he just flatted. The river I probably shoulda fired 3, but figured I was probably beat so I checked he pushes all in and I start thinking about it, I just felt I had the best hand or lost to a queen or possibly quad fives but he was a shortstack so why not see if he ain't just doing what I think he's doing. And he was.

www.pokerhand.org/?2262054.

I felt good bout that hand. So my worst losing hand of the day demonstrates why I hate KJ for one, but it also demonstrates how I would have benefitted from popping him up on the flop. I chose to simply call him down with KJ as I could be good most of the time, but gd it if I wasn't beat all three streets while getting taken to value town by a 77/0 short stacker. Dammit! Suppose I'd of popped him up on the flop I could have then shut down before riding the value train courtesy the donk. Hand is here:

www.pokerhand.org/?2262064.

Haha, oh well. I lost a few I shouldn't have lost, but I think my play and decisions won my money last night rather then losing me money. Ahh well, guess thats enough for the day =P.

Will leave ya with the PT stats and EV graph from 3/12/2008...

--T2T

One thing I keep failing to call myself on is my pathetic aggression. God I need to fix that shit. So timid, like a tight passive almost. Ahh well, will work to improve upon that aspect.

Another damn day

Blog by : T0mmy2T0ne

Last night went well. I was just grinding along up a little over a buyin when I hit this hand which I don't know. I'd like to give myself an excuse say I was tired, I was drinking, etc etc etc... But truly, I just feel I suck and I can't read a board... Not to mention I still can't get away from TPTK... GRRR, GD IT!

www.pokerhand.org/?2255883

What a frickin moron. Then I run this hand which I could make a case for not even playing PF. I do flop two pair however and I can't say that I totally fault my play here, but given my luck for the last 10 minutes or so leading up to this hand, perhaps I could have gotten away from his what seems an obvious set... NOT!... PUKES!

www.pokerhand.org/?2255895

But like I said, the previous 450 hands went ef'n grand. I was folding marginal holdings, staying out of trouble grinding it up. You know the deal, hours of work shot in 10 minutes. That second hand too, I had good stats on the guy which were very respectable tag numbers, he was decent and I didn't pay attention to that when making the decision to put in all my chips. FOOK! I just get so gd pissed at myself. I try to learn from this and attempt to tell myself that I need these experiences in order to move on in my development. I need to suffer deafeats based on my poor decisions in order to learn to keep the tilt factor down. To learn mental calm. But I'm here to tell ya, its frickin hard. I question myself, my ability, my desire. Urges to just move up in stakes because these donkeys don't know how to play are there and denied. Uggg. Oh well.. Perhaps today when I play later on after work will be better.

Till then I'll leave you the statszors and graphzors.

Take care

Hehe what a day at the tables. After the weekend and donkin off so much playing those stupid steps, I was actually somewhat worried bout hittin the cash game. I was a bit into the ol, I just suck at poker really, I'm just wasting my time, I don't have the discipline to stay in bankroll, etc etc etc. But I forced myself to accept my shortfalls and realize that yes, I didn't need to spew 15 buy ins at the steps, but at the same time I had 43 buyins for my lvl and I won quite a few back with the tourney. So basically, stfu T2T and hit the tables... And I did!

I put in 700 hands, the first 500 earlier then the last 200 before bed. I just had an exceptional day draggin in pots that were worth 1/3 buyin. I won a buy in pot and a 3/4 buyin pot but all in all it was about those midsized pots ya take down on the turn where you three bet someone they call and call the c-bet then go away on the turn bet. A 2.4 BI win for the day. Yay!

When I came back before bed, I really just came back to test some hud changes I made after reading this post by citizenwind which is awesome btw. So I came back and ran into this total donkey who just freaking raped me. I lost 2 big pots yesterday and they were both to him, check out the hands. I found myself trying to win back from him, but I managed to play sane and I picked up what he took and more on the other 3 tables which lifted my spirits.

I'd like to set these hands up but really, they speak for themselves.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2250071">Donkeys hand #1

Donkeys hand #2

Hehe, yeah, whatever. This dude was bad. But like I said I managed to stay focused and pick up several pots on the other three tables while getting a few bucks back from the donkey here and there. All good, congratulated him when I had to goto bed on his stellar play.

Anyways I'll leave with the pt stats and ev graph for the day.

Ouchy!

Blog by : T0mmy2T0ne

Well so Friday went like utter shit. I played around 700 hands and did it all under the line. I felt I kept my calm and plugged thru it, lowest being 2.7bi down ending 1 buy in down. I was near even at one point and hit a bad hand. Beats me what it was ready for a break.

Then stupidity strikes. I decide what the hell I'm gunna play some of these step things. Well they are frickin crapshoots in lvl 1, I got some horrific beats, made it to 3 a couple times, 2 once. The one time I made it to two, I got ai kk v aa near the begining of the match. Oi. The hand before was the same thing I figured whats the odds two hands in a row kk v aa so I pushed and he flipped the nutz. So I spewed like 15 buy ins on gd satellites like a freaking donkey. I was playing tilted, bought into a lvl 3 one and get ai with ak v qq and die. WTF I was thinking, please, do not have a clue. So I decided to take a break from cash Sat and Sunday and play a few tourneys.

Played a rebuy on saturday, finished 53 of 2.7k. Was a decent stack but the blinds were 4/8k I believe when I pushed with aj or something and lost to 33 or 55 hehe. So that recouped some of Fridays losses.. Played the Sunday Hundred Grand got ai with A hi str8 on the turn only to have the flush complete on the river. Played a lil doller tourney and cashed in for a buck fiddy lol.

Anyways a very craptacular weekend. I keep hearing the stories bout how Fridays/Saturdays are such good cash games and I believe it as I see the players donkin out on me but I just can't earn those days yet. LOL WTF!

On a side note my book by Tommy Angelo is OTW and he sent me an email with a funny story bout how small the world is. Seems like a cool guy.

Will leave as always with PT and EV from Friday. Work on Agression T2T, work on aggression.

I am the great Cornholio!

And I need TP! Tp for my... Bunghole... Bunnnnnngggghollllioooooo! Ahh man, I should go buy those dvds. They're truly classic. Course I recken most you guys have no clue bout some Beavis and Butthead =P

Onto Poker. Yesterday was great, I went into the day seeking to focus on a more aggressive play and cutting down on my early position play. One of the new things I had been trying is to play some suited connector type hands UTG so as to get my bigger hands paid off more, but what I've found is that I typically just spew cash from that position so I tightened it up. All in all I feel I had a very solid day position/aggression wise. Perhaps I could have been more aggressive on the turns, but I am still learning.

One thing which I feel holds me back is my focus on results. I don't want to say I'm scared money, but at times I find myself making decisions based on the fact that I'll just get called down or whatever. Yesterday I said screw it, just be balls to the wall and it worked. I think early on I was more aggressive as once I booked the big 3.5 bi win, I shut down just trying to grind out the rest of my 500 hands. I considered stopping while ahead, but I had to get in the hands at which point I ran into this hand.

I figuered I'd call his raise and defind my bb and what do ya know, I floped the nut flush. I chose in my infinite stupidity to slowplay this hand, the guy was aggro 70/5 so I knew he'd pay me off. Goes check check on flop, interesting, turn once again, check check. River comes is another spade the king so I figure the guy will pay off any spade and I bet out, he raises I wind up getting it ai. The problem I have, is that I paid no attention to the board and I didn't even see the paired board. I thought about a boat when I made the call but I swear I didn't see the paired board. I just misread the bitch. I dunno. I called and he stacked me leaving a couple hands later. Sigh.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2227783

This hand I knew I was beat on the flop, on the river I knew if I wasn't beat on the flop, I was beat now. I called..

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2227789

So, things did turn around. On this hand I flop a set with a draw out there, the turn hits, draw comes into play. I call like a donk his RR to my turn bet and what do ya know, the river saves the day...

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2227796

Flopped a flush here, just trying to get max value out of it. Obviously I do ;)

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2227799

This is one of my favorite hands of the session. One of the things I wanted to implement yesterday was betting my draws so when they hit I could get paid off better. Works.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2227802

Here is a hand where I felt I was ahead on every street but knew the guy was an aggro leader. I put him on what he had. Well I didn't think his draw was as strong as it was but I got paid.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2227808

So thats it for the hands, hope some were interesting. I'll leave out with my PT stats and poker ev for 3/6/2008.

Peace!

So, I hit the gd backspace key again gd gd gd gd. Oh well, not much to say, continue to run poorly at 10nl. I'm positive. In slansky bucks I'm up 7 buy ins, in real bucks only 2. Just kinda sucks getting drawn out on and all that, but gd how many times you hear that same old song and dance. I figure I'm not being aggro enough post flop. I just hate to do things just because, rather work it into the game where it seems logical.

Lil bit here..

Its hard keeping motivated. Yesterday I got up ten bucks then down ten bucks then back up 8 or so then quit to play the sat to the Sunday hundred grand. I got it ai aa v 99 only to go home when the 10 hit the river completing his str8.

Not much else to say, I'm annoyed I can't be puttin up better pt's and ev's. I'm begining to lose the positive attitude and comin down with the, "I suck" attitude. So here is yesterday...

This hand I knew I was ahead and felt he caught on the river... Pfft...

This hand is an example of the turn RR/Shove means I got teh nutz pay attention dumbass hand.

This hand was awesome it saved my day for sure lol. The solu guy was a very strong lag player that I felt sat to my left because of a bad table I played earlier his stats were like 36/30 over about 100 hands so I did want to scare him away and damn it worked. I think the river shove was wrong though, think I shoulda just baby bet or checked river to allow for him to fire.

Oh and the last hand of that tournament, can you believe this shit? LOL. Ya know in Scott Fischman's book, he mentions that in a satellite he'll at times fold aces. I think this was one of those times... Ahh well.
