So the last couple days have gone well for me, yesterday was a bit up and down ending on a winning hand up 2/3 a buy in. Today was better, I got paid off with a couple big hands I'll put below and ended about 1.5 buyins up. I've been working hard at solidifying my AF at the tables. Primarily through a more consistant cbet along with 3betting and CR'n strong flops.

One thing though twice in the last couple days I've had similar losing hands. Today I lost a buyin on it. It was my biggest loss of the day the second biggest loser of the day was 20% of a buyin. It sucks and I really should have been able to get away from it quite easily. I even put myself in a position to be able to fold it with ease.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2379526">Hand 1: I flop a set of tens with a flush draw. I bet it strongly and turn card is another flush card. The rest is history. Villain is 35/8.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2379522">Hand 2: SSDD (Same shit different day), although I managed not to lose a buyin on it. Certainly through no fault of my own lol. Villain is 58/15.

I hope you learnt yer lesson Tomas, dumbass. Is there any way I could possibly justify these calls? Hmm, I don't think so. In both hands I had a decent sample on them, but honestly in both hands I felt like I was getting a butt plugging come showdown time. So why would you call something like that? STOP IT!

Ok whew there we go, had to chastise myself for these hands, they were just too fugly.

As for some of the winners...

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2379580">Hand 3: In this hand, I knew I was getting a call from one of these fellas. I think though I made a big mistake with my turn bet. Number one, I know I certainly chased one off. Number two, what if this other guy had 36 or 33 instead of his 10/8? I'm not so sure shoving without the nutz on turn is great. I was very sure I had the best hand, I truly wasn't worried bout quads or a boat. So I guess I'm happy with the shove being a safe one, just not happy bout possibly chasing out the other guy. I think I coulda made more here.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2379615">Hand 4: Here is a hand where I feel I took a big chance on the flop by check raising rather then leading out. I feel like it was certainly the way to get this guy all in but was certainly uncomfortable waiting on the river card to drop.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2379628">Hand 5: Standard, KK v KQ.

So thats about it for today guys and girls. Watched Superbad the other day and gawd thats some funny shit. Bored as hell in the hotel....

Will end with the PT stats for last couple days. I think I'm going to only post the ev graphs weekly perhaps....

Take care,

Chica chica yeah yeah....

So I was thinking about cause and effect. Basically what has been causing me to run so terrible. Can I blame it all upon others? Am I doing everything I can to improve my chances and get back in the game before going busto? And I came up with something. I have not reviewed my PT since going on this maddening streak. I'd been keeping my cool, not going on monkeyshit tilt but just couldn't seem to win.

So I started out this morning by going over every losing hand over 50bb's and I found that I was calling down extremely light. Shoving 19 out draws when someone would raise my cbet. And basically giving very little respect for any check raise. Disbelief of these people who are going to play their cards straight up. Taking AQ all in on the flop after my cbet was raised by a set of 4's. I mean wtf? Thats where my tilt was manifesting itself. I convinced myself I wasn't tilted but I was making calls which if I had been reviewing my sessions I'd of known 15 buy-ins ago were wrong.

So, armed with this knowledge I struck out again this evening and vowed to give these guys credit when all I had was tptk or whatever and they were going aggro. I made some great laydowns or called my 13 outters on the flops instead of shoving and my biggest loss of the evening was 3 buy ins *Edit: LOL 3 dollahs or .3 bi not 3 bi, damn!*.

I was positive a little over half a buy in after 495 hands and was extremely satisfied and over fricking joyed I finally was going to have a positive session when along comes this hand...

Hand 1: I have P7 and make a standard raise. Flop favored me and I check raised. I would have gone AI on the flop, but I'm not used to the FT buttons fully yet I guess... SCORE!

Anyways that was the last hand of the night hehe.. YAY!!

I am going to keep this screen name private as I'm at the point where I am not yet satisfied I'm not too much of a donkey to even allow fellow cr's to know my FT name lol... I'll leave ya with the PT stats for the evening.

Take care and gluck at the tables!

End of Month Schtuff

Blog by : T0mmy2T0ne

10nl

Well, its the end of the month again and time to post that summary of all things grand! Was a great month in that I am positive again this month... I was doing great from the 1st thru till the 20th of March up $228 or 22 buyins.

The last 11 days though have really been rough on me though and I'm going to finish the month up $24.99. LoL notice how I included the .99 cents there but I rounded the 227.67 up to 228 =P. Unreal... Oh well. It has certainly been frustrating to say the least. I am praying that I will turn over a new leaf next month and start running a bit better. I'm not going to say that the downswing has nothing to do with my play. I am certain that due to the frustration, dissappointment and constant feeling that every time I log in I'm due another butt plugging has casued me to lose possibly 1/3-1/2 of the total losses. But wow, I have been coolered numerous times, I've been sucked out on whew way many times. Its been hard. But I'm keeping my hopes up high that things will improve.

I'm speaking with MasterTrey here and some others about it and trying to stay positive. I've sought out some coaching help and basically just hope I pull out of it or go busto in another 30 buyins or so. But we shall see.

I moved cash over to FT to hopefully start earning some rakeback/bonuses to help offset this horrendous situation i find myself in. I've started datamining and I love the buy-in options. I must say though, I've lost 6 buyins in the two days I've been there. Nasty stuff follows me. I think perhaps its a mental thing but I have no clue how to get away from it. Take a day or two off? That just means no hands to learn with and allowing the gloom to build. Not to mention I've taken some days off.

Some things of note. I did complete the 15k hands this month that I sought to do in my end of month.

I did read the book by Tommy Angelo, Elements of Poker and highly recommend it.

I also walked away from the game a couple times when tilted so I did manage to conquer many of my goals for the month. Unfortunately I don't remember offhand if I had a monetary goal, if so I'm sure I failed it.

Anyways I'm in Buffalo ny for 2.5 weeks of training for work so have plenty of time to play poker in the evenings even considering going to the Seneca Casino for some live action possibly on the weekends. If ya wanna go or sumpin give a shout here.

Leaving off with some PT stats, Position Stats, and finally the month EV Graph...

Later folks!

I cannot begin to describe my total frustration and anger right now. I cannot get anything fucking going. Today I played the fast tables which was really an awesome change of pace and got up 15 bucks thinking shit might be changing then I get hammered. Once was against a shorty with aq v ak on a a hi board. Then no shit I'm .45 cents positive after 500 hands, so I decide to sit out next blinds and KsQs comes along and goes down like this. Why the hell am I such a fucking donkey?

Dumbass Hand 3billion: Whatever. I turn top pair and can't get away like the horses ass I am.

Check out my uber stats. I don't see anything too terrible really, perhaps I am calling out of the SB too much but damn, I actually am positive there lol, was doin this because was watching some video where Veneer was doing a challenge at this lvl and he mentions that he was able to call out of sb profitably stealing with air many times.

Sorry I've been venting the last few days, I just am having trouble dealing here with this 10+ buy in downswing. I know its just 10nl but ya know, I'm tryin here and failing... Miserably... Damn...

Oh well... PT stats and Position stats since Friday and the ev graph, you see anything glaring?

Take care,

Ok, On the off chance that anyone gives a shit enough to read this besides me, I've decided to post a bit here about the weekend. I thought of all kinds of ways to make it out like it is something then what it is. Ways to make it sound like I'm not really the donkey that I am, but try as I might, I just can't figure a way to really escape blame here.

I went on a minor downswing that I knew was comin on friday, didn't play any saturday, continued it going down yesterday donked two 10 dollah events, then decided I should play some 25nl. And then this mornin some more 25nl. But on the way to work I talked into my little recorder thingy some and came to the followin conclusions.

1: I need to focus upon putting more hands into 10nl to move up to 25nl. To do this, I am going to quit using the mornings before work to blog here and just play 1-200 hands. I'll blog either in the evening before bed or on the weekends only. Dunno. We'll see.

2: I need to realize why I am utilizing the 25 buy in rule.

3: 25nl seems beatable and I really think I could just move up I know I ran poorly but man I took some truly bad beats there. I lost a total of 7 buy ins at 10 nl 5.3 of which were 25nl and probably 4.3 of them were truly bad beats. Perhaps I could get away from some but I got set under set twice for full 50 bucks right there. But as much as I think I can and want to, I realize that this variance will kil me without the proper roll. So I'm not going there till ready.

4: Be the "Professional"

These things and simply quit being afraid. Today I was positive a buy in so that erased some of the losses but just figured I'd say hey.

Later

Back in the Saddle

Blog by : T0mmy2T0ne

Back in the saddle againnnn.... Oh yeahhh.... Yeah yeah... Wah chica wah chica wah wah.. Yeah, I got to play again last night and things were running, WELL.... Its been over a week since I've had a loser knock on wood, so I keep waiting on the inevitable downswing. I do feel like even though I know it'll happen, it won't hurt me too bad. I've noticed that I tend to control my losses when it comes to cash. I have a 2 bi stop loss. My problem tends to be I'll go play in tourneys and sats and blow 15 bi. But I've learned that tendancy and will not let it happen again.... Yeah, we'll see about that, but that is the plan.

Yesterday I got my eval at work. They obviously don't have IT monitoring my CR Visits =P. Went well, I do a good job though just like to check out CR during working hours when there and I'm bored to tears is all =P.

Well last night, like I said I started out hot and just pretty much stayed that way. I ran even for quite a few hands but the last third of the session went very good ending me up a little over 3 buy ins. No complaints here. I hate it when people say sesh, don't you? Guess I'm too old lol. 39. DAMN!

Anyways some hands of interest. Gunna post a loser today. I know I know the negativity! But I just want it here for a reason and that reason is recognition and as a reminder of a mistake. One of the things about last night was my biggest loser hand which is right below was only 21BB. And I only lost 5 hands which cost me more then 5BB each. I mean, I was making some great (IMO) pf laydowns where I was in position against a limper and raiser with my normal raising hands I was either going to 3bet or lay them down and if I didn't feel like the hand was strong enough to three bet I wasn't playing them. Then my three bet hands were paying off. Was working suprisingly well =P

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2305232">Hand 1: This hand on the river I knew I was beat. I felt there was a very slim possibility that he had a busted flush, but in my gut I knew the river card was the card that made his hand. Villain was running 90/9 lol. Still, given the situation I think I could certainly have folded this hand.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2305246">Hand 2: Presto is gold... I call with p5 here, this is early on the villain is a guy who I've seen around a lot a regulard who plays 30/12 over about 250 hands. Flop: I'm in position and everyone calls a min bet, why not join them. I figure someone probably, maybe has a jack but for the odds, why not try and spike the 5. The turn goes check all around and why not, I only have a pair of 5s and I'm only trying for one more why get pushed out. The river comes and PRESTO! Check check bet and I raise him. I pondered my raise I knew he had the Jack. I was very moderately worried he had j9 but I just couldn't him on that... Was very sick he immediately stood up and left table lol. Guess he don't like me =P.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2305255">Hand 3: I three bet him pf and he donk bets out to me pretty sizeable. I am not such a fan of my RR here but it certainly did build the pot. When I made that raise I remember thinking I'll make it this big and if he has a solid king or set he'll call or raise and I can see the turn and hope to spike or fold. He called and like the nickle/dime champ I am, I spike the perfect card and hold.

Well thats bout it for today everything else is pretty everyday boring. So I'll leave ya to go do something worthwhile and as always show ya my PT and EV for yesterday.

Take care,

Honesty in Poker

Blog by : T0mmy2T0ne
0

.05/.10

Well last night I was unable to get any hands in. I was disappointed but I didn't get back to the room until around 9pm and had to get in my Big Brother then sleep for this morning. C'est la vie. I am ok with it though, I felt last night like I could just play a lil while but I considered what would I have to gain by playing out of my environment and rushed for time. In the end I decided as much as I wanted to play that in all honesty, I'd probably be doing nothing to improve my game, my bankroll, or my learning. Besides... Big brother was on! LOLz...

Brings me to honesty in poker though. This is something that is so fricking hard for me as a player to come to. I feel that in order to be a successful player you do not necessarily have to be honest with yourself but you have to be a lucksack. I think in the short term you can have extremely grand results and tell yourself you rock, yer the best, noone can defeat you. But if you're honest with yourself you'll say wow, that was fun, I was extremely lucky, I made some shitty decisions which paid off and a few great decisions which paid off, and a few great decisions which lost me money. Honesty...

Honesty is saying, I see results but perhaps I am not the greatest player here. Honesty is saying damn, that donkey running 56/35 may in fact be the better player between us. Perhaps he's been getting mad cards and simply knows how to play me. Honesty is diggin in, plugging leaks, learning your game and the realization that you can always improve upon it. Honesty is not cutting down someones play at first or even second and third glance but discovering the motivation behind the players moves and finding a new way in which you may improve your game. Honesty is simply taking the game for what it is and saving the bitching and whining for places other then the place where you come to learn your shortcomings and educate yourself how to make money. Honestly we could go on forever finding ways to become more honest with ourselves.

Honestly, are you honest with yourself?

Take care!

Springy Fieldy

Blog by : T0mmy2T0ne

Packing up and heading to Springfield soon as done writing this waste of our time... Just going for a quarterly safety meeting us techs have to goto at the office with the big bosses. We'll go out and have dinner tonight at some fancy joint then have a few more bitch sessions tomorrow before heading back to our respective areas. But... I'll have my laptop so will get my hands in tonight hopefully.

As for yesterday in the pokah world, I had an awesome 3BI win day. Gotta love that shit. I didn't really hand out any bad beats just got some cards and played them. My aces held up and in one instance even went up against some cowboys so obviously got him ai. He was one of those 7.2/6.9/insane aggro players. So it was ez. I'll post the hand.

One thing I'd like to talk about is some things Tommy Angelo says about tilt in his book. He strips tilt down to simply not playing your 'A' game, there's various types of tilt but how do we combat it. We realize it and we seek to lower the frequency of it, lower the duration of it, and lower the effect of it. Then he speaks about how in fact your aim should be to tilt less then your opponants thereby increasing your win rate. I dunno good stuff, should pick it up.

Onto some hands from yesterday...

Hand 1: This is that aa v kk hand. Like i said he was very tight/AGGRO so I'm betting he woulda got it in anyways, but I think in this situation he got it in thinking he was killing my range.

Hand 2: This guy was runnin 58/23 max aggro each street. I flopped the nutz vs his range somewhat worried bout the flop check call but I had a decent flush draw and he played every hand seemingly aggro or calling. Then when he went ai on the turn I almost snap called, I knew there was no way he was playing a made hand like this he had to be drawing or bluffing with air. It was the second option.

Hand 3: This guy was 61/26 lol. Short stacker who had me crushed. Thing is, this guy was slow playing the hell outta me. He was letting the timer time down on every move and I was just like wtf go. I thought on the Q I was beat but had a decent amount of outs so wanted to just keep it as cheap as possible for a showdown and honestly I felt I was going all the way with him as he was a shortstack and I never figured him for a set. Luckily, once again the nickle/dime champ strikes again and gets there on the river.

Hand 4: This hand is LOLZ. Rony is 77/5.7 and Lileggo is 56/9. I mean on the flop I catch top pair and flush draw so bet out and these guys call with 2 and 5 outs. I was upset by the river but figured I needed to toss out a thin value bet as I was likely ahead. I think i should betted more here.. Whatchu think?

Ahh well thats it for the day, I need to head out so I can make the meeting in time. Take care folks! As always leaving ya with the PT and EV for 3/18...

Chip chip chippin away....

Blog by : T0mmy2T0ne

.05/.10

So to start off, I'll say that the Sunday Hundred Grand is a fun tourney to donk around in. There is always 20k players, and the money is at 3k lol. So I made the money then got it ai in the BB with AJ having 8bb left. I was against A10 see ten on the turn. Ahh well, good decision bad results. The thing bout the tourney is the blinds escalate mad fast well 10 min levels. So by the time the money comes around blinds are 200/400 or higher which is rough. I think when I went out the blinds were 400/800 with some ante and I had a 6k stack or some shit. Ahh well.

Yesterday on the tables were very unspectacular. I simply sat there and grinded till I got my hands and made a buy in. I did something I normally don't do and sucked out like 2 or three times with some hands I shouldn't of been playing. The wins in those cases were against short stacks though so didn't really help things along and just felt good taking their buck fiddy or whatever with JT s00ted or what not lol.

I did have a few solid hands though. I'll post a couple of the winners as I really hate all the negitivity you read in some blogs. Sometimes its like why does this guy even bother, he just sounds so bitter and negative towards the game. So I try my damndest not to go there. Anyways enjoys.

Hand 1: WTF this guy was thinking I haven't the slightest. I mean WTF, he almost had me worried I had a smaller set. LoL yeah ok...

Hand 2: Similar situation I guess. Well in that the guy just has doodoo and just keeps calling. I guess my style leads people to think I ain't got shit.

Hand 3: Here is that donk hand of the day for me. WTF I was thinking I have no clue. The guy was a 60/20 punk and I didn't believe either bet. But again, I had nothing except for my two back doors. And like the nickle/dime champ I am, I once again, get there.

Well enough for the day. Nothing really perceptive to say today. I forgot to bring in the water yesterday. I cleaned up the office at work yesterday... LOL ya, that'll keep ya comin back for more =P. As always leave ya with the PT stats and Ev Graph for the 3/17...

Thanks for stoppin by--Come back, Anytime.
