Help Me, Win a Free $50!

I'm going to keep this short and sweet. I've been playing a lot of 7 game mix lately on FTP. I recently downloaded Pokertracker Stud, which seemed to be working mostly ok until today until I realized that it didn't import any of my hand histories from yesterday. I think the reason is that I was running Holdem Manager yesterday and it processed the stud files by accident, but it could be something else. As for HEM, I don't think it has this problem, but it hasn't been importing any of my hand histories from PokerStars, only FTP (not a huge deal because I do mostly play on FTP, but still a pain).

Anyway, I'm looking to get this all cleaned up asap, and I don't want to have to import on PT Stud before HEM every time, although that would probably fix half the problem. The first person who posts a comment below who helps me square this all away gets $50 from me on FTP or Stars. If someone helps me partially but doesn't completely solve it, they may get money as well. This could very well be super easy but I'm too lazy/busy to figure it out. Thanks in advance for your help.

since only 4 people have read your blog right now i figured id be the first to comment, i have no idea how to fix your problem, but i am really fucking hungover right now because i drank a bottle of lady bliegh last night, yes i am that fucking broke that i can't buy captian morgan like a respectable drunk should, however like i said before i have no way actually helping you but i would still really appreciate the 50 just for letting you know that i feel your pain in dealing pokertracker

I'm guessing if HEM is processing your files first, it moves it to some different location, so then when Pokertracker imports, the files are no longer in the original default directory. Since this is obviously a conflict, you can figure out where HEM moves the files to, and add that directory to your Pokertracker's list of directories to import files from. This way, even if HEM imports the files, Pokertracker will still also import the same files.

As for your HEM/FTP issue, I'm pretty sure its related as well. To see where HEM is moving the files, go to your import files settings in HEM, theres an option somewhere that asks you what directory to move the imported files, just copy that directory into Pokertracker and you should be good.

hey,

in pokertracker you can choose, not to move processed files to another directory. (pokertracker automatically moves every handhistory file into the folder programs/pokertracker/processed. during import)
So your hand history directory is empty and can't be importet by HEM.
For the future, you simply uncheck 'move processed files' (a checkfield within autoimport) and you can report it in both programs.
For solving you issue with the already importet files, you have either to export from HEM and import in PT or search the files within the processed files (probably not a nice task ;) )

voodoopriester's recommendation of not moving the hands when you archive will work, however it will cause a big slowdown, because every time it searches the directory for new hand histories it will have to go through each file still there and decide which ones are new and which ones are not.

The way I would work around this is to set HEM to archive them to a new directory, and then set PT Stud to look in that directory for files as well as the original directory. That way if HEM has for some reason already archived them, then it will still find them and process them.

As far as HEM not importing your Stars hands, it is usually just looking in the wrong folder for the hand histories. This is especially common if you are using vista or windows 7 because the folders where they are normally stored are hidden. Can you click the link that says "click here to add auto import folders" in HEM's import tab and tell me what directories are listed?

You just set PT stud to import hands from c:\HMARCHIVE\2009\11 and it will import all the hand histories from November, 2009 after HEM has already imported and moved them. You have to have both programs running at the same time, and sometimes HEM will take a little while to move the files so at the end of a session if all your hh aren't showing up just change the PT stud import back to normal c:/program files/full tilt/hand history temporarily to pick up any hh files that haven't been moved yet. You also have to make sure the "moved processes files" box is left unchecked in pt stud.

Took me quite awhile to figure this all out. Best of luck and ship the $50?

I made new and different directories for my PT3, PT stud and PT omaha, Just like making a new directory for HEM it will help move the right files to the right places.

agree that you should have pt stud look in the archive directory that hem is moving the files to, as well as the original folder where they are being saved.

as for the pokerstars hem problem, i had the same thing happen for a while. it was because i wasn't opening pokerstars with the update pokerstars exe file. i was just using the regular pokerstars.exe file because of the card mods i use. when i started opening pokerstars with the update.exe file hem started importing fine again. not really sure why that happens or why using the update.exe file fixes the problem, but it does.

Doing that would work but would take 10-15 minutes to import hands every time and longer as more hands are stored. Sorry...

PT Stud can only have one import window per site (to my knowledge). If there's a way around that let me know, but otherwise your suggestion is too tedious.

With regards to the PS thing, I use Vista and the folder is appdata/local/pokerstars/handhistory or something. I certainly have it synced so unless there's some trick I don't think that's the issue.

I dealt with this problem before where pokerstars wouldn't grab but FT working fine. Just go to pokerstars instant hand history options and change the saved folder to the pokerstars folder in c:\ and it should grab from there i believe. if nothing else have one of the bustos scour the pt omaha or pt stud forums because thats where i found the answer if im missing a step. if you still need help, then here is your answer

if you point poker stracker stud at the "C:\hm archive" folder (or if you specified a different folder look there) then it should grab all of the backed up stud hands.
