Just got back from the .25/.5 house game and I straight up crushed. Well, mainly to due to the fact that I ran really well. When I got there I saw the usual loose donks playing. One thing I noticed immediately was the pretty much EVERY single hand was pretty much going to show down unless someone moved all in on the flop or the turn. So I immediately realized that making moves wasn't gonna push many people out. Everyone was limping a lot as well...and calling pretty much any reasonable rasie(3-5 times the big blind). So I decided that playing loose and aggressive wasn't gonna get me paid off. So I played tight and just waited for my big hands. I knew if I hit, I was definately gonna get paid off. I especially liked playing disguised hands because I have a super tight images with most of the guys there. Two of the biggest pots that I won was won with suited connecters when I opened raise in position. I am pretty happy about the way that I played. There was one interesting hand that came up during the night:
I picked up 55 in the CO and I raised it to $1.5 and get 4 callers
Flop comes 234 rainbow. I raise it to $4 and get 2 callers
Turn: 9h, now with a heart draw, I decided to check because if I raised at this point I would have to fold if someone decided to make a move at me due to sucha drawy board. I felt like I had the best hand at moment anyways.
River: K, no completed flush. First player checks and doesn't seem interested in the hand at all. The 2nd player decides to move all in for about $9 total. I tried putting him on a hand and had a pretty hard time doing so. He was a very weak player who limps and call raises WAAAAY too often. Then he flat called my 4 dollar raise on the flop. So I put him on a draw of some sort because he didn't bet on the turn so it didnt make sense to have a straight already. I cant really put him on a 9 because he wouldnt be moving all in just on a pair of 9s. So the K on the river really had me worried. So I run down the hands that he might be holding and made the call on the fold: AK A5 56...cant really put him on a set because he would have pushed on the flop considering his chip stack. Like I said a straight was probably not possible, and I cant put him on AK because he woulda have reraised my small raise pre-flop. So I decided to call, and he turns over K3.......He is a good player. So I was right, he was on a 2 pair draw with 234 on the flop. Needless to say I eventually stacked him not too long after that.
