A lil set back....

Blog by : Steam4Dreams

I went up to AC with my roomate last weekend and ran unbelievably terribly horribly BAD. When I got there I was stuck $300 because I kept on running into bigger hands. But I played well and got myself up to even. I was literally $20 away from being unstuck until an old guy hit an one outter on the river for a straight flush to beat my ace high flush. It was just so heartbreaking. I should have been up like $400-$500 from this hand because we both had made our flush on the turn and I got him to bet into me. Fishes up in AC just want to GIVE me money but the poker gods just werent having it. So in total I lost about $700 on the trip which sets my bankroll back down to $600. So I am pretty much back where I started before I made my first AC trip..........

I am off for the summer now. I plan on shadowing a dentist, get a job, get back in good basketball shape and deposit a lil bit of money on Full Tilt and see where it takes me. :-/

Not much

Blog by : Steam4Dreams

Not much has been going on lately. Except for the fact that something personal came up and I probably have to shell out most of the money that I have made from poker this whole year. Its not much but its probably gonna be over $1000. Which sucks really bad, all my hard work down the drain. But my poker game has improved sooo much compared to what I was during December of 2007. I am trying to get a couple of friends together to hit up AC in a couple of weeks so I can maybe make some money and not have the $1000 that I have to shell out affect me as much. Other than that I have just been grinding some house .25/.50 games and just straight up crushing. Total BR is close to $1500 now I think. Good lucky everyone!!!

Somthing Baffling...

Blog by : Steam4Dreams

Ok, I still have been playing a lot of home poker games. Last saturday I won about $100ish and last night I had a very swingy night but still managed to squeeze a $40 profit after I stopped playing stupid. But Something came to my attention last night when some of my friends made a comment about a certain hand that I played.

Hero(Button): AcTc

raise to $2, big blind calls and one limper calls

Flop: 4h8sAh

Hero bets 4, big blind calls, limper moves all-in, Hero calls, BB folds

*******Ok, here is my read. Most of the people at the game that night MIGHT limp with weak Ace, but would definately raise with AJ and up. Big blind just flat called my raise on the flop which could mean that he has an ace or was on a flush draw. The limper who went all in, I was almost 100% positive that he was on the flush draw because he would never shove on the flop if he had two pair or something because he would wanna get value from me. But before I made the call I realized that big blind was unlikely to have an Ace and more likely on the heart draw as well. So I just decided to flat call the $30 all in hoping that the big blind might come in as well and they both can go draw for the few outs that are left. But big blind folds****

Hero shows: AcTc

Villain shows: Kh8h

Turn: 8

River: blank

Ok, I ended up losing the hand. But I think definately made an awesome read and definately the right call, but villain ended up hitting a 2 outter on me which was fine (its poker, it happens). But the thing that troubled me the most was when a couple of my close friends who I consider to be somewhat pretty good players berated me for making the call. The were like "oh I cant believe you made an $30 call with JUST AT", "Even if I knew you knew he was a flush draw you should have folded"

I was absolutely baffled when they scolded me about making an absolutely good call. For some reason they think a flush draw was worth more than an already made hand in that situation. I just dont understand how they could say I made a bad call. it seems that ever since I started taking poker seriously and really started to study the game, I have been making some really good plays in some of the games that I play, I often get rediculed by some of my friends even when I win the pot. Such as this:

Hero(button): 9s3s

Everyone lmps, mid postion raises to $2, CO calls, I raise to $7

***this was at a point in the night where I felt like I was in the matrix and making sick reads all around. When everyone limped and middle position made a $2 raise, I knew everyone was weak and the raiser had an Ace at most. So I pop it up to $7 to represent a high pocket and just expected everyone to fold. Everyone does fold except for the original raiser. He is kind of a pre-flop calling station because he ended up calling me with AT*****

Flop: 63T

I bet out $10, villain calls

Turn: bland

I bet out $20, villain folds

So I ended up showing everyone my genius bluff and everyone at the table busted out laughing and couldn't believe I was bluffing. But the same friend who scolded me earlier was like "whatever, if he wants to play stupid like that let him play that way" It just so insulting to hear something like that after making what I felt was the absolute right play at the time.

Has anyone else ever had any similar type of situation happen to them?

Bankroll: $1400ishhh

Just Grinding

Blog by : Steam4Dreams

Been playing a lot of house games lately. I have started almost a nightly game at my own apt with a couple of friends. Blinds are .25/.5 and everyone just buys in for 40. I have had some big nights where I won 150+. In the past couple of weeks I am probably up around $300-400ish. My total bank roll is at $1200 now. My goal is still to get $3000 by the time I go up to AC again when the semester ends.

Gooood luck everyone!

Back From Atlantic City/Loooong entry

Blog by : Steam4Dreams
0

Ok, Its been nearly a week since I got back from Atlantic City. I spent the last few days just gathering up thoughts that I have in my head about the whole trip. First of all, I did actually win in Atlantic city. I had a total profit of $600 in 3 days of playing. Most people would say that 1 buy-in per day is running pretty normal. But...I did anything BUT run normal during the trip....

My 4 other friends and I got to the Caesars poker room around 12:30AM. All of us sat down at different tables spread out around the room and started to play at 12:45AM sharp. My first impression of the poker room was that it was surprising different from the ones that I saw on TV, because I am so used to seeing the large fields of tables on the WSOP episodes. I initially bought in for $200 in chips at the $300 max 1/2NL table. When I say down, I immediately noticed that there was this old lady who was just absolutely wasted out of her mind and what Joe Hachem would say "passing out the sugAH". Immediately, I was like FISH, JACKPOT!!! But for about the first hour I was there I was absolutely card dead and got all sorts of combinations of trash such as: J3, 92, 83, Q5, etc. I MIGHT had made a stab with them if some of them were suited but, that didn't even happen. Of course the some fat guy busted the drunk lady with a nasty two pair for her near $400 stack. I felt like the money was robbed away from me since that fat guy was sooo incredably bad. After that I had a pretty good read on all of the players at my table. the 3 better players all sat to my right and all the bad calling stations were to my left. So I was extremely happy about where I was at in the game. But soon after I got familiarized with my table, half of the table decided to leave and I was relocated to a different table. My new table was even juicier than my last. The I would say half of the table was older tourists who might have watched poker on TV. But 2 good players were to my left, so my position wasn't exactly to great. Everyone in AC is also a preflop overbetting-DONKEY. Who the fuck opens up UTG for $15+ with KQ?!?!?!?! So playing like a nit at at AC was actually gonna be a lot more profitable than it usually would be. About 5 hands in, I picked up 88 in middle position, and I limped. One good asian guy two seats away from me raises to $15 and 3 other players had called by the time it got to me. So my 88 was got pretty valuable especially if I make a set, so I smooth called:

Hero: 88

Flop: 787 (JACKPOT!)

I check, original raiser bets $40 and 2 out of 3 players call before me and I smooth call as well.

Turn: Blank

Everyone checks around.

River: Blank

I was first to act, So I make a $50 raise. Everyone folds but I get a call from the last guy. and I take down a decent sized pot. I think this was the first big mistake I made on the trip. It was mainly due to the fact that it was my first time playing in a casino and playing so high up in limits. To think back, I had like 20 dollars left behind of my $50 river raise. The only person who was going to call me was probably with a overpair or another 7. So it really didn't matter how much I raised on the river. At the point I only bet $50 because I didn't wanna scare anyone away. Stupid me!

After that hand I really started to get into my grind. I played the best I could and had the winnest night of the whole trip. I had to play literally until noon time on monday because we couldn't check into our rooms until then. Through out the night, I played mainly Tight and Passive. I allowed other people to bet into me because I knew most of the people would not hold back from betting if they made top pair reguardless of kicker. The only time I would make a raise if the board was extremely dangerous. It worked out very well, I won several pots with Ace high flush and getting paid off my K high flushes :-D. At the end of the session I turned the initial $200 buy in into $750. It shoulda been over 1k but I got sucked out when I had AA by a old asian guy who decided to play 75 offsuit >:-(. But I played the hand extremely bad because I decided to check the flop of J84 to allow someone who had a J to bet, but instead the old guy runner runnered a straight on me. It stun kinda bad.

Day 2(monday):

After going to sleep at 12:00pm I got up 6hrs later and had dinner with my friends at a shitty burger/hotdog joint inside the casino. The food was overpriced, but I really can't complain paying for it with the money that I won from the previous session. Soon after dinner, my friends and I all headed to the poker room once again. I was seated at a table a lot tighter compared to the table I was at the night before. People came and went so I ended up being the one who stayed at the table the longest(14hrs :-P). There was this one huuuuge fish who sat with us at the table but just got rediculously lucky in the 4-5hrs that he played. One somewhat good experienced old guy decided to bluff him on a board that only needed one card for a straight. This fish essentially called an all in over $600+ with a trash two pair. The whole table went CRAZY after that. I applauded the old guy for making such move, but I also told him that you just simply can't bluff an idiot. I personally had a rough start at the table. I wasn't catching much cards for the first hour, but I picked up 77 and this one mid-aged asian guy sat down at the table and decided to post. I raised a standard $6 and it was HU btw him and I to the flop.

Hero: 77

Flop 347

I bet out $15. He smooth calls

Turn: 6 (I was like, fuck...game over)

we both check

River: blank

He bets $50, I call and lose to 45 offsuit(awesome!!!) There was a lot of situations such as this when I just KNEW I was beat but I still called for some reason. I really think I could of came away with at least another $300-400 in winnings if I didn't make stupid calls like this. Then this fucking donk goes on an tells me that poker is a game of pure feeling and that when you feel that a certain hand is gonna win...you should play it. So, you can imagine all of the words I was using to curse him and his family. >:-(

So after that blow, I replenish my stack with another $100. This guy gets up and moves to another seat at the table for some reason. 10hands later I picked up QQ with 3 limpers to my right, I make it $15 and I get 2 callers including the old asian guy who just cracked my set.

hero: QQ

Flop: QJTr

I raise $35, one guy smooth calls, and the asian guy makes it $50 more. I immediately go all in knowing that the guy who smooth called was proabably on a draw and the asian might actually had a hand. The only hand I was worried about at this point was AK and 89. But It didn't make sense for anyone to reraise on the flop if they already had AK but if they did, I still had outs. As I expected the guy who smooth called folds and the asian guy immediately calls. He flips over JJ and I turn over my QQ with the biggest smile on my face. Everyone at the table pretty much stood up and congratulated me on the hand. The turn and river bricks and I take down a nice $650 pot.

After this point I had a very good image at the table, and a lot of people were folding to my raises. It was nice to have this rather than to be sucked out by some crazy shit people pull out of their asses up in AC. For the next few hours I couldn't really make a hand and made a couple of stupid bluffs, and my stack was just going up and down. I decided to call it a session at 12:00pm on tuesday and walked away with a $450 profit. I went to my room and slept, but woke up only after 3hrs later and just could not go back to sleep. 3 of my friends had went to bed early from the previous night because they were down a lot. I actually had to borrow out $800 to 2 of my friends through out the entire trip. I got up and took a shower and called up my friends and turned out that they were at the Bally's poker room because the bad beat jackpot was up to $150,000. I looked in my wallet and I had close to 1k in cash not even including the money that I had borrowed to my friends from the night before. I was extremely happy with myself. I went down stairs just feeling like a million bucks and actually walked around all of the shops and enjoyed the setting for a good half an hour. I went back to the same burger place to eat by myself and I actually got the whole meal comped because I had played for so many freaking hours just the 2 session before. After dinner I headed out to find my friends. Then something happened that probably changed the WHOLE entire trip:

-------------

I was going up the escalator and there was this black guy by himself coming down and he goes: "hey brother, you got some money you can give me so I can get some dinner?" Ok, normally I am a very nice guy and and very simpathetic towards the poor because my family wasn't exactly well off all my life. But it was just this situation that made me not wanna give him any money because I am NOT simpathetic towards the degenerate gamblers who come to the casino with all of their paycheck and just to gamble it away. So I proceed to lie to the guy and told him that I was losing a bunch of money and I couldn't spare any to him. Immediately I walk away from from, I was like SHIT, I hope this doesn't come back and bite me in the ass. (ohhhh, I had nooooooo idea what was in store for me in the next 15hrs.

------------

I finally found my friends at the Bally's room where they were playing 1/3NL in a room filled with a bunch of old old old people. I sat down at a table half full of old guys and it was to get a penny out of them. I played at that table for a good 1hr and made about 25 bucks and moved to a table that was making crazy commotion every other min. I get there and immediately notice the guy who sat to the right of me who had like 1.5k on the table. So apparently he was running hot before I got there. I also noticed this other guy named Ricky who was just an absolute dick who was loose and sucking out on everyone. I played for about 2hrs and just couldn't get anything going. Then finally I picked up AKcc and I call a $15 dollar raise from that guy Ricky and bad player to my left moves all in for $50. When it got back to Ricky he reraised it up to $100 which was close to half of my stack. When the guy to my left moved all in, I already made up my mind that I was gonna call. But when Ricky made it $100 I tanked for liek 5mins. I knew that the guy to my left was just getting impatient with his short stack and just moved all in with 2 face cards and decided to gamble. When Ricky reraised to $100 I put him from TT-AA. KK and AA was slightly unlikely(statistically) because I had an A and K. Since they were suited as well, I decided to make the call and see a flop.

Hero:AKcc

Flop xx9ccc (miracle flop)

He of course moves all in, I do my best Phil Hellmuth impression and get my money in as fast as possible. He turns over JJ and I show him my Nut flush.

Turn: J

River: 9 (WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!, GAME OVER)

After this hand I was on mega tilt. I still had $100 left after that hit and boughting for another $200. 5 hands later I run my pocket pair into QUADS and I double up a short stack and lose another $100. But I clawed my way back up to $300 stack again then this hand happened:

Hero: AQ

Hero raised to $6, 4 callers(including Ricky)

Flop: TQJ

I raise $25, everyone folds but Ricky raises to $75. At this point I so on tilt I just shoved hoping he had like 2 pair or something and he'll fold. But of course he had K9 with the wrap arond straight.

Turn: A

River: Q

Karrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrma!!!!!!!!!!!!. The world rebalanced itself. A few hands after this, the table broke and I took my money and got the hell outta Bally's. I actually came out a $75 winner! My friends had busted another buy in and had went to dinner earlier. I called them up and they were back at Caesar's.

My Last Session of the Trip:

So I get back to Caesar's and I get seated at this table that had this one kid who was my age and was reading a cardplayers magazine with a 1k stack. So I assumed that he was pretty good and watching him play a the first couple of hands he was in, I noticed that he was very aggressive with his raising especially on the turn and river. Through out the night I played a couple of hands with him. He ended up getting the best of me when he two paired on me twice when we were sharing cards. But the highlight of the night didn't include him. It was this over-betting donk that was sitting across the table from me. He is one of those players who raise on "feeling" with no knowledge of position WHAT so ever. One hand he raises $22 UTG with 35off and flopped a boat....sickness. Then this one hand comes up. I had QToff and I decided to limp since I havent seen much action thus far. He makes it 15 dollars and everyone folds and it gets down to me. I call to see a flop and I checked in the dark.

Hero: QT

Flop: 98J

I flopped the nuts. I checked dark. Before the flop came and he moved in with a $100 dark. So...he pretty much screamed AA to me. So I put him all in and he calls.

Turn: 9

River: 9

I get runner runner AGAIN!!! Absolutely sick!

5 hands later, He is UTG and pops to $13

Hero:99

2 other callers

Flop: 697

Everyone checks

Turn: 3

I check, guy behind me raises $20, Over-bet donk raises to $50. Me being on tilt doesn't even consider what he might have had. So I shove and he calls with 45 with a straight. Of course I cant suck out at all and I lose.

So After all this I go from a 1k+ winner I was down to my last $250 worth of profits. Then there was this one momemt where I was like fuck this. This is poker I am playing and I cant just sit here for cards only to have donks suck out on me. Then I went on to play the best poker of my life in the next 6+hrs. I out played that kid who was at my table by doing all types of things such as floating with air and all types of moves. I eventually grinded back up to a 600ish profit and I called it a session being tired as fuck. Through out the whole trip I had at 2 meals thus far and slept for lest than 7 hrs in 3 days. I think the lack of sleep really had a huuuge effect of my bad run on the last session and also not giving that black guy money might have had something to do with it too haha. But I came away from trip with $600 profit. I am not exactly too happy with my results after my good run and how bad some of the players are at AC. I calculated that if I didnt lose those 98% chanced favored to win hands, I woulda proabably walked away from this trip with a 3k profit. Its just so nasty to think about it. I coulda be fully bankrolled for 100NL online. Now my bankroll is 1k. My goal is to continue to play home games and win as much as humanly possible and then take whatever I have and take another stab in AC when summer break starts. I goal is to have 6k by the beginning of the summer and grind $1/2NLHE online for the entire summer.

Excited

Blog by : Steam4Dreams

I am super hyped about spring break starting on Friday. I will be going back home until sunday and then get together with my friends and head up to Atlantic City. This will be my first time ever going to any sort of casino in my life. What really makes this special is that I am gonna use this oppertunity to take a ultimate shot of buiding a sizable bank roll to play online. I just checked my wallet, and I have exactly $400 dollars in it and it was all from playing house poker games in the last couple of weeks. So by taking this shot, I am not exactly playing with "scared" money. But one thing that worries me is that I only have had experience with 1/2 NLHE once, and I played like a total nit. As I recall, I played like a total of 4-6 hands in about 2 hours of playing and never went to show down once....sooooo, I am not exactly too confident in my game at the 1/2 game. I don't think this has to do with anything with my playing ability. Its just due to the fact that I have never faced such large exchange of money in a short period of time. The biggest purchase in my life with my own money was an Apple iPod, and ironically I bought it as a gift to my girlfriend. So, the $400 dollars in my wallets is pretty much go big or go home for me on this trip. I'll probably stay away from actually playing any poker until I get up to AC. So that way my mind can be fresh when I sit down at the tables. I have a feeling that I'll just be a total nit until I get into the green....then I'll probably loosen it up and play my game.

http://farm1.static.flickr.com/167/474187849_8a2e6d6003.jpg?v=0">

On another notes I read some thing really interesting to me today. I been watch some clips of GSN's High Stakes Poker recently and I have always wondered who Guy Laliberte was ESPECIALLY when he got into a Million+ dollar pot with David Benyamine when he flopped two 2 pair and David Benyamine moved all in on a nut flush draw trying to push him out. Guy ended up being super nice and offered David to just forget about the hand and he'll just keep whatever small money was in the pot. Guy's reasoning was that he knew that a Million dollars was a lot of money to David and there was no need to take such gamble. I was just like....WHHHHHHAT? So, a million dollar isn't a lot of money to Guy? So I looked him up on Wikipedia and it turned out that this guy is BALLING. He is the sole owner of Cirque du Soleil and has a net worth of 1.5 Billion! WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF. Man, playing 1/2 Million buy in on High Stakes wasn't exactly "scared" money for him. He isn't exactly a fish either because he has a total of 3/4 million in tournament winnings, including a 4th place finish at the WPT 2007. Impressive!

Successful Session

Blog by : Steam4Dreams

Just got back from the .25/.5 house game and I straight up crushed. Well, mainly to due to the fact that I ran really well. When I got there I saw the usual loose donks playing. One thing I noticed immediately was the pretty much EVERY single hand was pretty much going to show down unless someone moved all in on the flop or the turn. So I immediately realized that making moves wasn't gonna push many people out. Everyone was limping a lot as well...and calling pretty much any reasonable rasie(3-5 times the big blind). So I decided that playing loose and aggressive wasn't gonna get me paid off. So I played tight and just waited for my big hands. I knew if I hit, I was definately gonna get paid off. I especially liked playing disguised hands because I have a super tight images with most of the guys there. Two of the biggest pots that I won was won with suited connecters when I opened raise in position. I am pretty happy about the way that I played. There was one interesting hand that came up during the night:

I picked up 55 in the CO and I raised it to $1.5 and get 4 callers

Flop comes 234 rainbow. I raise it to $4 and get 2 callers

Turn: 9h, now with a heart draw, I decided to check because if I raised at this point I would have to fold if someone decided to make a move at me due to sucha drawy board. I felt like I had the best hand at moment anyways.

River: K, no completed flush. First player checks and doesn't seem interested in the hand at all. The 2nd player decides to move all in for about $9 total. I tried putting him on a hand and had a pretty hard time doing so. He was a very weak player who limps and call raises WAAAAY too often. Then he flat called my 4 dollar raise on the flop. So I put him on a draw of some sort because he didn't bet on the turn so it didnt make sense to have a straight already. I cant really put him on a 9 because he wouldnt be moving all in just on a pair of 9s. So the K on the river really had me worried. So I run down the hands that he might be holding and made the call on the fold: AK A5 56...cant really put him on a set because he would have pushed on the flop considering his chip stack. Like I said a straight was probably not possible, and I cant put him on AK because he woulda have reraised my small raise pre-flop. So I decided to call, and he turns over K3.......He is a good player. So I was right, he was on a 2 pair draw with 234 on the flop. Needless to say I eventually stacked him not too long after that.

Total winnings: $150...Ship it!

Hanging around still

Blog by : Steam4Dreams

Havent been up to much lately. Mostly trying out different types playing styles to see which is the most profitable. I been mostly playing 300/600 play money during these experimentations. I found out that the people who play 300/600 stakes dont really mess around as much and actually try to do well. Also they still play pretty loose similar to some of the micro games on fulltilt. I learned about polarizing my 3bet range recently and it has worked wonders. People are perceiving me as a pre-flop manic and are calling me down with weaker hands. But it not exactly working perfectly because I have a tendency to hold on to my cards for way too long, and hate thinking that someone might be bluffing me. I am sure I'll adjust and perfect it soon enough. I also have been playing a lot of live poker, as I call it "variance free" poker. Most of the house games that I play at are mostly college kids, with the exception of a few, most of them are pretty bad. I started with $20 in my pocket a couple weeks ago, now I almost have $300. I played a 1/2 house game a last week and it was pretty intense. I played like a total nit cuz I was playing with scared money. I won about $100 in about 2 hrs of play...so not bad....being a nit that is.

http://farm1.static.flickr.com/103/310235263_48a4b95cc4.jpg?v=0">

Spring break is coming up, a couple of my friends and I are planning on a trip to AC for 3 days. I am gonna take my $300 up there and take a shot! Hope I'll find some rich old people to play with so they can just hand me some moneysssss. I don't really want to set a goal for how much I make cuz I'll get goal oriented and play bad. But I am hoping that I can make a profit of close to 1k so I can come back and put it online and start grinding 25NL regularly and take shots at 50NL from time to time.

In the past few weeks, my game has definately improve a lot because I been reading through 2+2 forums a lot and just picking up what ever information I can about poker. I have found a lot of leaks in my game that I have not noticed before. Here is what I got so far...

Leaks in my game:

- Over playing weak pocket pairs pre-flop AND post-flop

- Playing mediocre hands out of postion

- and of course, TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILT. But I did notice that one of the big reasons that I go on tilt is mainly due to the fact of my poor playing such has the 2 leaks above. Getting bad beat doesn't really bother me anymore especially when I am play my hand right and get my money in right. I don't care if the FullTilt Gods decided to screw with me from time to time.

Good luck everyone!!!...oh and I am going to play a 50NL house game tonight. The game is super soft. So hopefully I can own up because I been actually running kinda bad lately even though I been winning. A lot of my cards just aren't hitting. So hopefully a up SWONG will hit me tonight and continue into the AC trip.

Busted...

Blog by : Steam4Dreams

I roll is gone again because I started playing play SnGs again after being stuck at around 100 for like 5 days. I think I am just a huge fish or I just go on these awful luck streaks. I blew all my roll on playing Turbo SnGs. The turbo SnGs is just terrible. The only time you ever get to play a regular flop is like th first 10mins, and then its just an all in fest from then on. I went bust in every SnG always with the best hand pre-flop but get shitted on when the flop comes. I am starting to think online poker is just not for me. I am gonna take a long break to concentrate on school, girlfriend, friends, basketball. I probably will continue playing some live poker, read some poker books. At this point, I have like zero confidence in my poker game. I might build a bigger roll by playing some live poker and hopefully come back to online poker when I feel like my game is improved.

The bad luck has gone by...kinda.

Since the last blog entry I was back at square one with my newly deposited $50. The original plan was to grind SNGs until I have $200 so I can start playing .5/1 LHE. But I remembered what happened with my last $50 and realized that SNGs variance is just way too high for me, especially with my tilty personality. I decided to fully concentrate on LHE starting at the .25/.5 level. This isn't my first time playing LHE so I have a pretty good idea of how the game goes. Right when I started off the bat, I went down BIG. I probably lost $30 by overplaying hands like AK,AQ, AJ, etc. Then I realized that my tight aggressive game really isnt fit to play LHE. Mainly due to the fact that premium starting hands isn't all there is to LHE. From my experiences, premium "drawing" hands are much more valuable. Of course everyone likes there premium starting hands such as AK, AQ, AJ, especially when they hit a top pair...most likely they won't be laying it down. But the truth is that top pair is rarely the nuts. The structure of LHE is designed for players to draw for their hands at a fixed rate. After realizing all of this, I readjusted my mind set and started playing a loose aggressive style. I based my decisions of how much money I am willing to put into the pot on the number of outs that I have and pot odds. After adapting to this style of play, I immediately started winning. I opened up my range of pre-flop hands so that made me a much more dangerous player to play against. But this new style of play is still in development, because due to the fact that I am drawing so much with some not so premium cards I have run into couple of coolers where my two pairs runs into higher two pairs or my flush runs into higher flushes. I will probably slightly tighten my range of hands that I play and hopefully will fix some of the leaks in my game. At this point I feel pretty confident. Next goal is to hit $200 in my bankroll and I will move up to .5/1 LHE.

Other then that, I am stuck. My bankroll is at arond $105. This was exactly where my bankroll was at the last time that I went busto. Today school was cancelled and I played for probably 4+ hours and I have just been swinging all over the place(up $20, down $20). Lets hope this isn't some type of curse.

Good Luck everyone!
