Vegas Recap

Blog by : Spudt24

This trip to Vegas felt like a damn blur. We got in Tuesday around noon, headed to our suite at Palazzo and I set up the demo unit for our meetings. The setup didn't go all that smoothly, so rather than taking 1-2hrs like I thought it would, it took me until 9:00pm when I left for dinner and sleep, and continued onto Wednesday morning. We hit up Dos Caminos for lunch and Naked Fish for dinner. I had what is easily my favorite sushi, the garlic tuna, and roll, the GT-R. Specfuckingtacular. It turned my rather blah day, into a not so bad day.

Wednesday I got up early to continue setup and then the meetings commenced at noon and lasted till about 7pm. I grabbed lunch at Noodles Asia which was pretty whatever. I'm basically trying to eat everywhere in Vegas. The meetings went well. They continued on to dinner at Craftsteak at Mgm. We got the 3 course sampler, so they basically just brought out a ton of shit. I love dining this way as it gives me the opportunity to try a bunch of things they have to offer. It was an excellent dinner. After dinner we headed over to Rok Vegas with some clients, where we had a table. Doug E Fresh was MC'ing so that was a bit entertaining. The club is small and has an intimate feel, but I really liked it. The DJ was good, the girls looked good, lots of dancing and vodka. A good night for sure.

Today was again an early start, followed by meetings. I had a 3:45pm flight from McCaren to LA to SB on United. I was excited to get back and start packing for Asia. I'm officially on vacation and I was happy. Until I walk up to the front of united premier line (supposed to be faster than the general line), and proceed to wait 30 minutes while 2 workers stood on the phone attempting to help 2 travelers. After 20 minutes I said something. When it was finally my turn, I said something else. And this was all before I found out my flight already took off, that United rescheduled the time of the flight a hour earlier without notifying me. If that wasn't enough, the only option available to me was for him to see if US Airways (my 2nd least favorite airlines) had room for me on their direct flight to SB. He found out they did, but didn't really tell me that it was at 9:30pm. I dropped a few F bombs that didn't help my situation and left furious. So now I'm sitting for 5 hours in a damn airport.

Honestly though, I'm officially on vacation. So really, I'm over being pissed. I don't have work for 2 weeks. I'm ditching my laptop and my phone. It's just me and Asia. BOOM!

Vegas then Tokyo

Blog by : Spudt24
0

I'm heading to Vegas tomorrow for a couple of days. I should have known better than to think I wouldn't travel before I left for my big trip! We're hosting some meetings and demonstrations at the Palazzo this week for ISC. I'll most likely only be their 2 days, Tuesday and Wednesday, and possibly a third day on Thursday. That leaves me with Friday to get ready for my flight out of LAX on Saturday.

I had a nice weekend filled with sports, relaxing, a fantasy baseball draft, reading, and good food. I finished the book "Mr Untouchable" about the infamous drug dealer and leader of the council, Leroy "Nicky" Barnes. It was a great book and a quick read. I just bought and am starting Thomas Friedman's, "Hot, Flat, and Crowded." I had previously read most of his book, "The World is Flat" before I left it in a hotel room and loved it.

I also bought a few maps of Tokyo and a book about Phuket. I spent a lot of the weekend reading more about Tokyo and relating the gardens, temples, museums, restaurants, nightclubs, our hotel, etc to the map. While I love wandering new cities and letting things just come to me, Tokyo looks so confusing and chaotic, without the language barrier. There are different public transportation options, things spread out all over the place across a massive landscape. Add that everything is in Japanese and you have a recipe for 4 white guys getting severely lost. And while this is inevitable, I'd like to at least have some idea about where I stand in Tokyo.

Unless I'm overly swamped with work when I return, which is likely, I plan on getting money back into my poker accounts. I'm basically itching to play. It's been far too long. I'm ready. Plus now I have www.pokercurious.com to guide me.

Have a good week!

Spring Training Recap/Asia Preparation

Blog by : Spudt24

The bachelor party in Scottsdale, AZ for Giants spring training baseball was a huge success. I got a nice buzz before I left the airport in the morning, met up with Kenny and cabbed it to the W hotel where we were staying. We checked in early and just sat by the pool, drinking and waiting for the whole group to show up.The first night we ate at a sports bar, who's name escapes me right now. After that we headed to a bunch of spring break/college type bars and a strip club, Babe's Cabaret. The bars in Scottsdale are just hoppin and the strip club just sucked. It was the size of a garage, and felt thrown together. It was more along the lines of a NOLA dive, than a Vegas club. The bachelor got on stage topless and received a great lapdance as well as pseudo successfully completing his own dance.

The next day we headed over to the Giants spring training stadium. If anyone likes baseball, and more specifically a mlb baseball team, I highly recommend visiting spring training. The scene is awesome. Great weather, a relaxed vibe, baseball fever, hot women. We watched a high scoring game and got to see a few of the younger Giants play some good baseball. I'm definitely excited for the year.

After the game we headed back to the hotel pool for more drinking. We ran into the Giants all star closer Brian Wilson and talked to him for a bit. Really cool dude. He told us Scottsdale the city he does the most damage in, when it comes to pullin tail. It must be his ridiculous mohawk, or that he's a millionaire baseball player. Or combo of both. He invited us to a party that was happening at the W pool later that night, so we planned on heading back.

After the pool boozing we headed out to dinner at a pretty famous steak house, Don and Charlies. They have signed baseballs, signed pictures, and all sorts of memorabilia everywhere. The Giants execs and owners were having a gathering in the banquet room next to ours. The food was pretty good, but moreso it was just a great environment. Fun servers, who encouraged rounds of shots, and loud and lively customers. After dinner while waiting for a cab, a bunch of the execs from the meeting came out to get their cars. I took a picture with Orlando Cepeda, my dad's favorite player. The GM, VP, announcers, owners all came out. It was a pretty cool sight.

We headed back to the W to see what the pool party was all about. When walking up the valet area was hopping and they were checking for room keys at the door. It looked like we found our next 5 hours. We headed up to the pool and texted everywhere to get back to the hotel since the party was going off. Donovan McNabb got a table next to us, and was rolling with a bunch of atheletes. For being as agile as he is, McNabb seemed fat. Or at least wide. Good luck Eagles. Brian Urlacher was at a table near by as well. He's one dude I would never want to see pissed off. He's just massive. The bachelor went up to him late in the night, to shake his hand and tell him he appreciates his game. Urlacher snarled at him, looked like he was going to rip my buddy's head off and screamed "what the fuck you just say?" (the music was really loud). So my buddy responds that he's a fan, and Urlacher says, "oh sorry, I thought you called me a douchebag." Hilarious. We ran into B Wilson again, he tried to get one of my buddies to jump in the pool fully clothed, but it didn't happen. Also saw Coco Crisp, who had a game the next day. And finally, where there are tons of atheletes, there are smoking hot girls. Arizona in general is stacked with beautiful women, but this pool party was nuts. Better than Vegas clubs, better than LA clubs. Perfect 10s everywhere. The fun part was we were telling girls that we played for baseball teams and were either going to make the team, or attempting to make the team. No one really knows. It's awesome.

Despite all the fun and perfection that is spring training in arizona, I was so glad to get back to SB, where I've been ever since. I'm 26 days through mustache march, although I'm cheating a bit. I'm not sporting just a stache but also a goatee. I'll shave the goat off soon enough, since our engineering department is doing a competition. I've just been preparing for Asia in the meantime. I bought a bigger piece of luggage, which should be great for the trip, as well as all of my future 2-3 week travels for work. I got 4 shots a few days ago, one of which was a tetanus, that has kept my left shoulder feeling kinda shitty for a few days now. I had my first visit to a physical therapist a couple days ago, in hopes my sporadically lingering lower back pain can be fully healed. I'm not in any pain right now, but I figured it's better to take a proactive approach, rather than wait for the next time. If I can do things now to better my posture and strengthen my back so that I'll be fine down the road, I'll gladly do it. So I have another appointment Friday morning, followed by a few more next week before the trip.

I haven't played poker in probably a month, if not more. At times I reallllllly miss playing. I miss the competition. I miss checks in the mail, rather than just bills. But, I don't miss the bad side of variance, playing a bad session, or the frustration and anger that ensued when I couldn't beat someone heads up. It just made life more stressful than it already is. So I still don't know when I'm going to get money back in my account. It certainly won't be soon though.

Santa Barbara's starting to consistenly stay in the 70s, after a weekend of a little rain and a lot of wind. I think I'm just going to relax in town this weekend, enjoy the beach, do another fantasy baseball draft, and appreciate having a good life. I feel really healthy (which had been a nagging problem for a good amount of 09), excited for Asia, followed by some installation projects at a few casinos, including the casino we just won in Pittsburgh. Hope everyone is doing well.

Scottsdale AZ for Spring Training

Blog by : Spudt24

Work went well in Indiana. Nothing too unusual. Spent 1 day at Argosy and 2 at Rising Sun. Standard holiday inn rooms, standard buffets. I just arrived in Phoenix and am about to cab it to the hotel in Scottsdale. I plan on doing absolutely nothing this weekend aside from relaxing by the pool, seeing the Giants/Royals spring training, drinking, good food, probable debauchery, all in the name of Nern's bachelor party. Hope everyone is doing well, I certainly am!

Hoosier Country for the Week

Blog by : Spudt24

Today I have a flight from LAX to Cincinnati, conveniently located about 30 minutes from the casinos I'll be working at this week, Rising Sun and Argosy, both in Indiana. I have some maintenance to attend to at Rising Sun and we're beginning a new installation at Argosy which will be huge as they have 1900 cameras being recorded on 75 DVRs. I took Friday off so I can fly early into Phoenix.

Next weekend is one of my best friends from SF, Kevin's bachelor party in Scottsdale, AZ to party and watch the Giants spring training games. We got a pretty sweet deal and are staying at the W, and eating at some great steakhouse that is supposedly popular during spring training. I've heard nothing but great things about spring training baseball and am really looking forward to my first time going.

Our trip to Asia has had a few changes to it. Instead of Shanghai we're heading to Beijing, and rather than going to South Korea we're going to Thailand! I'm sooooo pumped to hit Thailand since everyone I've spoken to has raved about it. I've read plenty about Tokyo, Beijing and Thailand, which just leaves me with researching Hong Kong, otherwise I'm already amassing a list of things to do before I leave, as well as some things I really want to do when I get out there.

My health is nearly back to normal which is awesome! I'll hopefully find some time to rest before the weekend, not go to wild and maintain some semblance of health. Then carry that off into a great 2 week vacation in Asia. I hope everyone is doing well, I'm off to the east coast...

DejaVegas

Blog by : Spudt24

Where to begin? I got in late Saturday checked into Bally's using the $20 sandwich (another success!) and went to dinner at one of my favorite restaurants in the US, Japonais in the Mirage. We feasted like kings and queens on sushi and called it a night since dinner ended around 11:30. Sunday was spent at the conference room in Caesars setting up for the tradeshow. We finished work far too late and again I called it an [early] night.

Monday the tradeshow began at 8am. It was the world gaming protection show and featured a bunch of seminars led various people in surveillance ranging from directors to card counters. The show itself is smaller than the other shows featured at the lv convention center or sands convention center. It's a much more intimate feel, but there is a ton of down time, which equals a good amount of boredom.

When the show ended at 6pm, we immediately headed over to Shadow Bar where my company was co-hosting an open bar party for a couple hours. I drank a few vodka sodas and did some quality schmoozing. One person I was pretty excited to meet and chat with was David Irvine, who was a part of the MIT blackjack team featured in "Bringing Down the House," who was a guest speaker at the tradeshow. His current projects include co-founding www.blackjackinstitute.com and www.blackjackvt.com. We chatted about some of the details of their story and really just shot the shit. He was really open and personable and didn't seem to mind the questions I had. We were supposed to meet at Rain later that night but never did. I wish him and his ventures the best of luck and might donate some of my money towards attending a seminar, as I noticed they'll be in LA in late April, right after I get back from Asia.

My dad swung by the bar to say hi since he was in town for business as well. After the party was done we headed to the front of Ceasars and took a hummer limo down to Mandaley for dinner at RM Seafood. We ate this ridiculous 4 story seafood appetizer concoction that had one level of lobster and muscles, one of crab, prawns and shrimp, another of oysters, and a bottom level of dipping sauces and ceviche. Since I always order gumbo if it's on the menu, I went with it and was highly disappointed. Note to self, only eat gumbo in Louisiana.

After an awesome meal we headed over to Rain where we had a table. They're doing some really weird thing at Rain that was designed by Oakenfold that had a bunch of random lights and dancers dangling from ropes hanging upside down. Since we had to be up and at the show by 8 again I didn't stay too late.

Tuesday morning came and it was another day at the tradeshow. It ended earlier than Monday since it was the final day, and so we tore down the booth by 5pm. I met up with about 30 people comprising clients and coworkers, at Palm steakhouse in the Forum Shoppes. We ate out in the mall in front of the restaurant which made for great people watching and a lively environment. Strangely our server unbuttoned my shirt completely and tried taking it off me while another was giving me a massage at the head of the table. A new first for me at a restaurant. One of the guys from Paragon recognized a UFC fighter walking, got up and posed for a picture with him.

After dinner we headed over to Encore to party at XS. It's not usually open on Tuesday nights, but my friend Bryan who has hooked us up countless times, was throwing a big party for the food and beverage convention he was hosting. The turnout was insane, it felt like a Saturday night. XS is spectacular. It's like Tryst on steroids. As elegant, but as scandalous. More stripper poles for hot women to dance on. Outside, a walk in pool with floating beds and tables, surrounded by cabanas and a centrally located bar/bj pit. The music was excellent, the bottles and shots were flowing. It slipped my mind that I had been sick for two straight weeks and I went with ketel redbulls to start and shots of tequila to end. Me, our new hire Greg, and a possible client shut down the place and ended up taking shots with workers before leaving and ending up at the Wynn. Long before leaving I unfortunately blacked out. And this is where it gets interesting.

I have been told the majority of this from Greg and really only remember a few parts. But I sat at a blackjack table and played for about 2.5 hrs until I got escorted out at 6:30am. Everything was going fine until I was down a good amount. I was having fun, no one at the table hated me yet, dealers weren't telling me I couldn't say this or that, and pitbosses didn't know my name yet. Then frustration hit, and the guy to my left who was sitting at 3rd base demanded I go outside to fight him. His girl ripped him away from the table after this dialogue happened.

"Don't you know you don't want to fuck with Russians?!" - screaming Russian guy

Me, still concentrating on the cards, "You're not even fuckin Russian!"

He wasn't sure what to say to that, and quite frankly, I'm not sure why I even said that. I'm willing to bet he was Russian. Hahaha. After he left I targeted anyone in the area. Dealers weren't safe, pitbosses gave me countless warnings. I was a typical shit show. After I made everyone sufficiently mad, they called security and attempted to kick me out. But I was in an argumentative mood and didn't go easy, justifying my right as a patron because they needed my money since their stock was down. I'm truly a dumbass. After the GM came down, he along with a pitboss and 7 security guards walked me out. I didn't leave quietly, yelled something from the cab, and ended up back at Bally's.

I stayed outside of Bally's at the taxi line and laid down on the cement bench to talk to the doorman. I'm not really sure what we chatted about but I ended up passing out on the bench. Woke up, went to my room, slept for 2 hours and went back to the Wynn around 10am to use the chips I didn't cash out. When I got there, much more sober, I went up to a pitboss and asked if I was still kicked out. I didn't feel like getting in trouble for trespassing so I figured this was a wise move. He called up to surveillance, put down the phone and said, "You can stay, but they said you have to be nice." Wow.

So I quickly surveyed the area and saw a pitboss from a few hours ago. I had been telling her how cute she was and while she might not have been as mad as the Australian pitboss I thoroughly pissed off named Spike, she was not completely happy to see me. Hi Cyndi, you blonde cutie. She greeted me with a "you're back early," and I responded with a sincere apology for my actions earlier. She told me she knew I wasn't a bad guy and was glad I apologized. Meanwhile the dealer looks at me and says, "you're a poker player huh. I can tell." She then said, "you're the guy from California they kicked out this morning?" Evidently the story had already made its way around the Wynn. Awesome. I asked her why she thought I played poker and she didn't really give an answer besides "just knowing." My buddy Spike, the pitboss was told I was back and came over to check on me. I again apologized, since I was told I was especially mean to him, and he politely accepted. Cyndi credited my play from the morning on my Wynn card so at least I'll get a free something when I'm back.

I got my ass kicked all morning by the Wynn, tried tricking the ATM to give me more than my daily allowance by not maxing it on the first withdrawal, and attempting a second withdraw. It didn't work. I wanted to thank Wells Fargo for not allowing me to withdraw anymore money. I'm so sick of taking a wad of cash to Vegas to play poker, not playing, but instead drunkingly losing the money in a strippers butt crack or at a blackjack table. FML.

I left and walked to the Westin from the Wynn since I didn't have enough cash for a taxi. I was meeting up with my Dad for lunch. I was beyond hungover, but my Dad was a breath of fresh air. I don't get to see him nearly enough so I really cherish any time spent with him. We had a great lunch and I headed back to Bally's to meet up with people. We ended up chilling at a lounge in Planet Hollywood until we had to leave for the airport for our 6:15 flight.

Me and Gold had a tight layover in Phoenix and began to get irked when we sat in the plane, at the gate, waiting for maintenance and paper work. Luckily the flight out of Phoenix was delayed, or so we thought. I get off the plane in Phoenix and a US Airways rep tells me initially that we'll be staying overnight at the Fiesta Inn, but quickly tells me the plane is still there and I could make it. I sprint across the fucking sprawling monstrosity that is Sky Harbor airport and get to the gate only to be told the plane is gone. Great. I'm hungover as shit, dripping in sweat, and I'm staying in yet another hotel.

We get back to Santa Barbara on the first flight out at 11:15, change out of my 2.5 old clothes and head to work. While at work it dawns at me that my stomach issues from the prior week were back, I was hungover, I burned my lips on hot soup from lunch, and my chronic lower back pain is back, to the point where I'm having a hard time walking. I'm currently, at the age of 27 years old, falling apart. And next weekend I have a bachelor party to go to in Scottsdale, Arizona. Shoot me now.

Yo Vegas, I'm Ready for You

Blog by : Spudt24
0

Flight tomorrow to Vegas. Santa Barbara to LV. Arrive at 4:30pm. My dinner plans for tomorrow night got canceled last minute due to my client having an unfortunate family situation happen (my thoughts and prayers go out to them). We were supposed to eat at Sinatra's at Encore. We still might head there, otherwise I'm trying to think of where else to go. Possibly Japonais at the Mirage. Since I have to work on Sunday setting up the tradeshow booth, I'll probably have an earlier night (1 or 2amish). I haven't decided if I want to party, play poker, or hit table games.

I haven't drank since Nashville. That's over a month ago. This is probably the longest I've went with out one single drink since I was 16. Pretty crazy. I know my body is thankful. I'm finally feeling, for the most part, completely healthy. I'm just being really cautious with what I eat and how I'm treating my body. I fully intend to start working out again and really just practicing a good healthy lifestyle.

Something I wanted to briefly write about is kids. I'm currently in no position to have kids, typically you need a gf or wife for that, my lifestyle doesn't cater to being a good father, and really I'm not responsible enough to have kids. Couple this with the fact that most kids I encounter are little shit heads. Whether they're screaming on a plane, making a scene in a store, or doing something else that annoys me, I have felt that I don't even want kids when that time comes.

Last weekend at my buddy's soccer game, his gf brought the two kids she watches over, Holden (2) and Kate (6). These two kids completely changed my attitude about children and ulimately my future want to have kids. I now understand why the few younger dads I know rave about how awesome it is to have kids. I chased them around the playground, kicked a soccer ball with them, ran from them chasing me. Their energy is contagious, their innocence is inspirational. I hope some day I have a son and daughter like these two. The son hopefully playing professional baseball or something, and the daughter hopefully husky and not visually appealing so no guys want to come over.

I just finished reading a book about Tokyo and am beyond pumped to get out there. I'm going to read at least one book per city we intend to visit, so next up is reading about Hong Kong/Maccau. If anyone has been to Tokyo, please drop me a PM or comment. I think I have some good ideas for what I want to see, eat and do, but I always welcome recommendations.

I should be really busy in the upcoming months so that should make for more of a lively blog and some entertaining pictures. Hope everyone is doin well and doin what they do best.

A buddy of mine is in the San Diego Rock n Roll marathon running for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. I'd appreciate it if you could check out his webpage and perhaps make a contribution. You can give even as little as $5 and it only takes a couple minutes. His goal is $2500 and he's only $1000 away. Thanks in advance..

Bitter Sweet

Blog by : Spudt24
0

I took a big blogging break mostly do to being sick. And while I'm starting to feel a bit better, I'm certainly not 100%. Over a week ago I started feeling weirdness in my stomach and at times chest. I let it go a couple of days, but after the problems continued with no apparent recovery in sight, I decided to go to urgent care since I don't have a regular doctor. Based on my medical history and current symptoms she thinks I have acid reflux and prescribed some pills. They didn't work so I started taking something that a friend recommended. This actually started to help and while I still have a bit of discomfort today, I feel better. I'll continue to take it easy for a few more another week, until my traveling starts back up.

So what's bitter sweet? I'm withdrawing the remainder of what I have on pokerstars and taking a much needed break from the game. After my last horrific blog, I managed to go back down to $350 or so playing 50 and 100nl, before I got it back up to $1000 playing mostly 50nl. I was pumped that I had 20 BI for the level I should be playing. Then it all came crashing down (again). Last night I found myself tilt-losing BIs at 200nl (I don't have the heart to post a graph) and nearly wiping out my roll. So the remainder is coming off, and I'm taking a break. I need to get my health in order, be more social again, and more importantly be honest with myself. I have a major problem tilting and chasing losses. Fortunately, this has hurt me in no way other than bruising my ego (oh well), and will definitely serve as a learning experience. I will be back at some point, hopefully later than sooner. I hope I can be of example to people that have a similar problem, and hopefully those people will learn, you will go broke doing this.

Ps. I appreciate those who told me they enjoy my blog when we played. I'm not an asshole, I just don't have chat on pokerstars. Again, thanks!

Hopefully my health stablizes and I'll be normal again, as this poker break comes at a great time. I will have been in SB for nearly a month, but that will come to an end next week. I might be heading to Dakota Magic to help install a demo. I'm not sure what city this is in, or even which of the Dakotas. Following this demo, I'll be heading out to Las Vegas for the World Gaming Protection show at Caesars. I arrive Saturday, have a dinner with a client, setup on Sunday, show on Monday and Tuesday. I'm not sure what the rest of that week will entail. The following week I'm going back to the Indiana area to start on the second (and major) phase of Argosy. I'll be leaving Indiana and flying straight to Scottsdale, AZ for one of my best friend's bachelor party/Giants spring training. After a week or two break, I could be heading up to Oregon to begin the installation of 7 Feathers Casino. Which brings me up to 2 weeks spent traveling in Asia. Basically, I need to get healthy in a week or so otherwise I'm going to have to heal while traveling, which is nearly impossible.

I wanted to give a quick shout out to my cat KC. Last week my mom had to put him to sleep because of kidney failure. While I know nearly everyone is a dog person, and typically can't stand cats, he was more like a dog, full of personality. Even after being in the pet hospital for 4 days, my mom said he was still running around, playful and in good spirits. I had a solid cry that morning (hadn't done that in years). Losing a pet is so shitty. I doubt I'll ever get a cat again as he's irreplaceable.

Anyways, until next time...

How am I not Broke Yet?

Blog by : Spudt24

I'm really enjoying my time spent home, and even more so enjoying the 70-80 degree weather. It's February, and it feels hotter than summer. No complaints here, although it's supposed to rain later this week, which I definitely welcome. Last week wasn't too eventful. Hosted a little dinner party on Thursday night. I don't cook so we just used my kitchen.

On Friday night went to a film about Linkin Park's latest album, linkinpark.com/story/News/linkin_park_the_making_of_minutes_to_midnight. Last week was the SB film festival and I always like to go to one film. My roommate Seth's soccer teammate directed the film so a bunch of us went to show some support. I enjoyed the film, but wished it had discussed other aspects of the band, rather than solely how they made this album. On Sunday I went down to LA to go to a super bowl party. I had money on Pitt -7, but I wanted to AZ to win. So I lost both. Exciting ending though.

Yesterday I booked my flight to Tokyo. So now it's officially set, I'm heading to Asia in April. The thing I'm most excited about is really the unknown. I don't know much about any of the places I'm visiting, I'm just going with an open mind. I expect to eat some great food, see some amazing places, meet some cool people, drink some good alcohol, and to take thousands of pictures. I'm really looking forward to it.

Poker is going BRUTAL. I don't know what has happened to me, but I'm playing some of the worst poker of my life. I'm insanely aggro, trying to just run over people, and generally acting far too impatient, and with a weird sense of urgency. I'll lose a buyin to a cooler, feel the immediate need to win it back, lose another on a bluff, and then move up to either 100nl or 200nl to chase losses.

Here are my 2009 results at 50nl-400nl in graph.

Here is pokertracker results in 2009. I played about 15k hands at 50nl in Nov and Dec and won at 14ptbb/100. I dumped 6 buyins to one guy on Sunday morning.

On now 3 different occasions I've had my whole pokerstars account on one table. This past sunday I got down to $120 at a 1/2nl hu table, got it back up to $200 vs a tight player, so I quit to buyin full against someone who was going to hopefully double me up a few times. I got lucky and found someone and managed to run that up to $600 in a few minutes.

So now I'm back at 12 buyins for the game I normally play. I really have no idea what direction I want to go. I don't want to put money online just to have 30 buyins. But the standard lately has been me attempting to grind out 50nl, lose a couple buyins, then move up. This will eventually lead me to go broke, I know this. I know what I should do, table select better, and grind those 12 buyins to $2500 and move to 100nl for good. Hopefully I'll pick and fulfill the latter. Although I expect a "I busted my stars account" blog is more likely. Blah.
