Let's see, where were we since last time?

I only played 2 more cash game sessions and 1 tournament ($1500 LHE shoot out), before having enough of live poker and vegas, and deciding to fly home -- which I did on Thursday night. It stinks a little not playing the main event, but at the same time, I won $4000 in 300/600 but was still so frustrated/angry/bitter with poker that I decided that if I can't even enjoy a winning session, I'm not in the right mindset for the main event.

What kind of set me off was losing $31,500 in my 200/400 session the first night back. There was a stretch when it was a 3-handed game with me, CMO, and a super huge fish who crushed both of us (and in one stretch won 25 straight pots, no joke). The next night I didn't play any poker -- instead opting to hang out in the bar area with other Minnesota poker friends (and nearly getting ourselves a $100,000 freeze out with John Esposito...long story for another blog, or else find Pokerbob's rendition of the story already posted on 2p2). The following night was my $300/600 session that found me down $17,000 quickly, then struggled back to +$22,000, and then quickly dipped to +$4,000 when I decided I had enough of live poker.

I really feel like there are not many people in LHE who've ran worse than me live this year (between my crappy LAPC and now equally crappy WSOP). Like, one hand I held A9 vs the fish's A2 and the flop comes A96, and I lose to his runner runner 4-flush diamonds. Or I get a freeplay in the BB with 7d6d and the flop comes T98 with two diamonds and I end up chopping with A7o -- while sighing relief that I even managed to get half the pot out of that flop because that's how bad it goes.

Anyway, it's a lot easier for me to get blogs typed when I'm in Minnesota and playing online. When traveling, I'll play poker late, and return to the room too tired to do anything but sleep, then wake up the next day and repeat the process.

I have a lot more to say about life and my happenings of late, but I need to get to sleep now since I'm going to be up by 9am tomorrow and it's already 3:30.
