Multiplicity

When you scroll through the tournament lobby how often do you see similar ID's? Often times, the reasons for similarity are obvious: Ivey is a professional poker player, Maverick is poker movie and main character, Pot Ripper is a notorious online cheat involved in the Absolute superuser scandal, Dolphins are a sports team, UGAdawg is collegiate, Cardshark is poker jargon, I Eat XXX is a poker clan, Mustang and Jaguar are cars, VegasDonkey and NJdevil are location specific. In the every day freeroll of the masses, these names are so common they are easily written off by any sensible person. Things change when you qualify for a major payout tournament. The hardest work is done up front while trying to qualify. Once entered the field become more exclusive. Have you ever encountered a distinguishable name more than once in a final tournament? Did you wonder if multiple ID's were the same person? Possibly it is one person playing two or three skins on a single network. For example, me1 qualifies on CakePoker and me2 qualifies on Sportsbook and me3 qualifies on PlayersOnly so all three (3) ID's have qualified on a single network. One reason someone may continue to play satellites is that the series pays a bonus each time you qualify like FTOPS. Legitimately, this is a strategy to eliminate the competion by winning as many seats as possible but most people are satisfied to qualify and stop playing the satellites once eligible. What really happens when a player qualifies multiple times on a networked tournament? Would their greed take over? What are the sites doing to prevent multiple accounts played simultaneously on a network?
