Ugh

Bankroll: 0
Total Profit: 100
Total Hours Played: 2
Hourly: -50/hour
Hands of Note: Guy limped aces, I shoved with a flush draw and didn't get there.
Other: I played very aggro, which doesn't work so hot when everyone calls me down. I was tilted. I ended up sending my last 50 bucks to epassporte for me to figure out what I'm gonna do next. If I do reload, it'll be with a full bankroll so I don't have to do the awful awful 4 table grind.
VPPs/FPPs: whatever

Easter Poker

Blog by : ROBBBIGG

Bankroll: $158.35
Total Profit: $18.35
Total Hours Played: 1.5
Hourly: $12.23
Hands of Note: Shoved on a guy with QQ on a J high flop, he called with 35, which had a pair of 3s on the flop and a backdoor flush draw, and he hit a 3 on the river. When he asked me why I shoved, I remembered to turn chat off. I also got slowrolled by JJ. I had Q10s and raised on the button, got called by JJ in the small blind. Flop: KKJ two to a flush. He checks, I bet, he minraised, I called. Turn: 9. He bet, I shoved. He took his whole timebank before calling with the third nuts. Fun. The reason I didn't lose money is I got Aces all in preflop, Kings all in preflop, and made a decent amount being called down when I was strong.
Other: Just wanted to get some play in so I can get closer to going back to 12 tables. I need to be at my parents house for Easter stuff @ 4pm. I'd much rather order Domino's and watching repeats of WSOP 2003+, but I have to be a normal human being sometimes.

Format of this blog:

In the future, I intend to post in the following format:

Bankroll:
Total Profit:
Total Hours Played:
Hourly:
Hands of Note:
Other:
VPPs/FPPs:

For instance, today:

Bankroll: 140
Total Profit: -a ton
Total Hours Played: 3.5
Hourly: -a lot
Hands of Note: I shoved on a guy HU with middle pair no kicker. I lost. Surprise!
Other: I'm starting a blog. I expect to get on the grind starting Monday after Easter. It should be hell.
VPPs/FPPs: 1080 for the month/1329 FPPs total.

I also assume I'll post graphs, but I don't want to commit to it because I know that if I start posting graphs and require myself to continue the trend I would be less inclined to blog because of the time it'd take to put up after a long day of playing. I also won't be posting my MT ratio and other stats because I have a reasonably good idea as to my playing style and have since decided to move back to my Mac. Beforehand I was using my windows partition because it'd let me use Poker Tracker and I had fun using that to do equity calculations, but to coincide with burning my bankroll to the ground my database became corrupted and so I figured I'd just go back to the OS I actually enjoy using.

I plan on taking a long range view of poker. Given that, I know that taking the smaller bonuses early have little value given the value of FPPs go up and dwarf the payoff a smaller bonus purchase provides. Therefore, for at least awhile, I intend to piss away my FPPs on all the stuff I've been wanting that have $ payoff. The next post will be the items (with pictures) of what I want. I probably won't actually publish that list ever.

Playing on Pokerstars

Blog by : ROBBBIGG

Quick background: I've been playing poker since June 07 and have been losing fairly heavily until recently. As of right now, I'm able to beat the 25NL 6 max games at a rate of 6BB/100. This is pretty lame, but my method of play at least allows me a decent hourly since I play 12 tables at a time, which means I make $15.3 per hour (supposing 85 hands/hour).

With that in mind, my blogging here is to let myself track my progress from low stakes to making a decent living by playing, and ideally - Supernova Elite by 2010. My most immediate goal is to rebuild my bankroll after I made some pretty awful moves with, sending some to friends and playing a higher stakes heads up match with most of it. Right now I'm sitting on $140, which really isn't even enough to even let me do 7 tables of 25NL. Regardless, I've tracked my progress before and assuming I run average and don't have any substantial obstacles, I intend on being able to play 12 tables by March 26th with a bankroll of $395. After that, here are my estimations towards the future (with some pretty specific assumptions, such as hours/day, days/week, BB/100, and that I don't improve or have any serious swings of luck):

April 11th: BR of 1579.
April 21st: Rent+utilities for May
April 22nd: Move up to 50NL
May 9th: Rent+utilities for June
May 13th: BR of 5047
May 14th: Move up to 100NL
June: BR of $11000
August 20th: Rent+utilities from July to January 2010 made
December 31st: 52k Bankroll

January 2009-December 2010: Race for Supernova Elite. This is supposing I have been able to handle the hours and tables at 100NL so far, but based on past experiences I think this can be done given the hours and tables I play. It would require I 12 table 100NL for 56 hours/week, with a few months @ 200NL. I assume by the time this year would end, my bankroll would be >150k, which would be ballooned even further since I've not taken into consideration any bonuses.

And now for bonuses, one of the main reasons I'm going to try to do this:

Disregarding all bonuses made until September 08, I would make 662500 FPPs by end end of the year and be Supernova.

From January 09-December 31st 09, I would make 3.5FPPs for every 1 VPP and supposing I get exactly 1,000,000 VPPs by the end of the year, that would be 3500000 FPPs.

3,500,000+662,500=4162500 VPPs.

Starting from the top and removing FPPs based on VPP milestone bonuses:

6 milestone bonuses: 300k FPPs=$28000. 4162500-300000=3862500FPPs-3800000=62500. 38x1500=57k in bonuses. 57+28=85k in bonuses with 62500 FPPs (which I assume I'd save for the next 1500 bonus).

85k in bonuses just to reach Supernova Elite.

The primary benefits for SNE?

- 5FPPs for every 1VPP earned (so if I were to put myself through the torture again I'd accumulate 5 million FPPs instead of 3.5m, which would be 50x1.5=75k in bonuses).
- Free online tourneys (of little value to me)
- Free entry to the WSOP Main Event + 10k.

So if I can handle the volume needed I would make 95k in bonuses, a free entry to the WSOP Main Event, and likely 100k in profit with rent and utilities already paid for, leaving me with a 245k BR at the start of 2011 before taxes (I assume taxes would eat up most of the bonuses, but that'd still leave me with a good 6 figure profit).

It's a 1.75 year plan, and given the difficulty in playing a ton of hours for a ton of tables, with a marginal winrate, and the ups and downs that accompany playing poker, this might seem silly. Therefore, to save myself the conversations online, I'm keeping this unpublished for now. If you read this and are not me, well that means I've accomplished my goal and scroll above to see what I did to get there. Sorry for all the useless math and info above, but it's for my use anyway.

Final note: I assume I might not have 62500 FPPs by the end of 2010 and I might not actually get the full bonus possible. This is because I intend on getting the smaller bonuses as time goes on, along with a PS jacket, some shirts, the poker table and set, most of the books, the 30" monitor, the ipod dock, a 1k neiman marcus gift cert for my mom, a Supernova shirt, and some cookies. Overall I plan on wasting a lot of money in bonuses along the way, but I know now ordering a bunch of crap will probably give me enough fun the utility in money would provide.
