It's been a while

So I have not played much in December. I took a break after feeling like I really need to refocus and start adjusting my game (that's what multiple 10 buy ins dowswings do to you lol). So I started to really focus on table selection and improving my game. I basically watched a ton of vids. Still had a lot of stress at university but managed to play some hands in January and the last three days in February.

I also only play 4-5 tables max at the moment. Over that 12K hands I ran like 22/20. I really feel like I am ready to move up. I will table select with 200NL and 100NL in mind now. I should have a lot of time the next few months and hopefully be able to move up in limits. I wanna play 40K hands at 200NL and if I beat the game for like 5 BB/100 hands I will take a shot at 400NL :) ... I plan on reaching that point in april.

So here's my graph (+ about 800 in rakeback ;)), mostly I played 100NL with some 200NL.

Last 3 days

Blog by : PatBateman

So I did not play much in the last two weeks. Had a lot to do for university courses. I also didn't feel like playing. Well this week I finally got some time to get 2.5K hands in the last three days. Not too much but I am pretty happy with the results and the way I played. The graph below is from my PC. I also played some on my laptop. So basically I am break even in cash games for the month and have 2K from my tourney win. That's not too bad :)

I am looking forward to playing more in November and hopefully I can avoid downswings and generate a nice win rate in my cash games. I'm trying to get in about 30-40K hands. Still got a lot to do for university :(

Blog by : PatBateman

I have played a 700 hands session today and still can't seem to record any profit. Down 2 buy ins for the session. Just gonna post my three biggest losers. I hate the format of the hand histories as well. Will have to find something better ;)

1st´(against a 60/18 guy):

No Limit Holdem Ring game

6 players

Stack sizes:
UTG: $101.50
Hero: $118.14
CO: $163.58

SB: $213.57
BB: $96.24

Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is UTG+1 with ah as

Flop: kc 10c 5h ($29.5, 2 players)
UTG bets $14.75, Hero raises all-in $104.14, UTG calls all-in $72.75.

River: 2d ($204.5, 0 player + 2 all-in - Main pot: $204.5)

Results:
Final pot: $204.5
UTG shows Qc 2c

Quick entry - 12th in 150K Absolute

Blog by : PatBateman

Alriiiiiiiiiiight. So I played this PSO tourney league in the summer. I won this league and therefore won an entry into the 500$ 150K Weekly Absolute tourney. I played this tourney tonight.

Well ... I busted in 12th for 2040$... I probably should be happy as this is a nice thing for my bankroll hehe Still I just wish I would have at least final tabled haha

I actually have not played a MTT in ages (except for the league tourneys). So I played real tight in the beginning and still got paid on my good hands lol I nursed my stack and foldeda a ton with occassionaly stealing the blinds. When we reached the last 18 I won one coinflip (SB I went in with K9, BB called with 33 and I got four of a kind haha). Other than that I always put my money in ahead so that's nice. I also nearly got crippled with AQ against K10 at the 50 people mark (all in preflop against a shorter stack that left me with about 7BB) but managed to come back.

Ok. Here's the bustout hand and I'm off to bed:

lol_downswings

I should be playing under that screen name lol.

I'm down about 7 Buy Ins after 8K hands. I will go through hands at the 10K mark and probably post some of them. I feel like I run bad and also play bad. So I guess that's not the greatest combination. I just gotta try to refocus and really start playing my A game. I still have hope for october and feel like I can turn this thing around. If I lose a few more buy ins I guess I'm officially on my biggest downswing ever.

Well I'm out.

PS: Thank god for rakeback and bonuses ;)

Swingy

So I logged in my first 3K hands at 100NL. Played a few hands really bad and got sucked out on a few times as well. However, I think it's not too bad of a start considering I made some 100BB mistakes ;) I just need to stay focused and play my A game and I should be able to get a nice win rate.

So I will try to log in at least another 5K hands till Sunday...

Brief introduction

Blog by : PatBateman
0

Hello!

I'm a 23 year old student. I've been playing poker online for about two years. I started out playing SNGs and some MTTs just for fun. I then switched to cash games and have been playing "seriously" for about 6-8 months. I've played a few hundred thousand hands at 25NL and 50NL. I just made the change to 6max and moved up to 100NL this month.

I will keep posting about my progress on this blog. My goal is to beat 100NL for about 4-5 ptBB/100 hands for 70K hands and then move up. I'll hopefully play 200NL by December (from a strict bankroll management point I could already play 200 NL ;))

I'm looking forward to become a part of the forums here at Card Runners!

Pat
