Moved to 200NL

Blog by : OmniSayon

So I took my first 200NL shot this weekend, starting friday. It plays a lot like .5/1 so I didn see much difference. It was the weekend so a lotta donks everywhere. I had my first 1k+ profit in one day and up about 10 buyins overall this weekend. Great way to start off 200NL. Also won a sunday million sat, netting me another $215. I keep telling myself im gonna stop playing those lol. They are filled with supernova grinders n not that soft. Here is my weekend graph:

ahhh...yea havent written here for awhile...donno got lazy lol, i think posting HH here shouldn't be such a hassle. Neways yea after my last entry i been playin a lotta .5/1...thinkin a lot bout my game and improving....pretty much crushed .5/1 for a good winrate....rolled for 1/2 and planning on taking shots the weekend after this weekend. I'm gonna be outta state this weekend so no time to play any online poker. I like taking my first shots on weekends since their are more players/fishes on during the weekend so I have a better chance and not have to move back down and have a boost of confidence.

So far this month has been sick for me. running 10ptBB+ over 7k hands or so at .5/1. around 1600 profit and its only been 4 days. I expect it to settle down around 4-5pt/bb by end of the month. Will post after my shot at 1/2. Hope it goes well :D

A lot to learn.

Blog by : OmniSayon

Have not written here for awhile. I been doing alright since I wrote here. Took a hugeeee downswing this weekend but I am getting to handle those things better and let it affect my game less. I been playing good lately and BR increasing. Only thing sucked was this sunday, ahhhhh. I played 3 5400FPP tournmanets and didn't cash ANY of them. I also played hte 5000FPP turbo takedown and lost in that as well. What a waste of over 20k FPP! I decided I am not going to try n grind out Sun million FPP anymore. I will however play the turbo takedown and play the platinum star tournaments if I get a chance. I am going to wait til I get 50K FPP and just get the $650 bonus.

So I'm seeing even more differences here at 100NL and the difference in plays you have to make. At 100NL, you CAN NOT make mistakes as much and get away with it. Because it is harder to get paid off by villains, you better make sure u carelessly don't throw your money away. One thing I noticed is finding someone's weakness and exploiting it. I don't mean the simple ones where loosive passive fish isnt calling cbets or taking an agro maniac to valuetown but the harder ones to identify and adjust to. My last session, I was to the left of a reg. He was on 2 of my tables and I had about 300 hands on him. His steal att was 40%, 3bet% was high, his fold to 3bet% was 40%!!!!!! so lowww and 4bet was 0! ding ding ding idea went off in my head. He calls 3bets too lightly, never 4bet bluffs. So I decided to exploit this and 3bet WHENEVER he opens for a raise and I have position. As Brian Townsend said in one of his movies, keep doing it until villain SHOWS he has adjusted, don't just assume he adjusted because you are doing the samething over and over. Worked out beautifully cuz he never adjusted. Here is a picture of the pots I played against him where I 3bet. Look at the time stamps lol

I am proud of this. Not because of the results or w/e but my thought process. I saw my oppenents tendecencies, thought of a plan and decided to act accordingly. I know to a lotta ppl it seems obvious or w/e but it was my first time doing something like this besides taking advantage of the basic fishes with the same routine. He was a reg with a big leak which i decided to exploit :D :D

Moral of the story? Everything I learn something new...it just seems there is still THAT much more to learn.

GG

Very good day. First, i got my 24" 1920 X 1200 monitor! Now I can 6 table sooooo much easier. On top of that, I finally got big pot grabber ahk working. This will gimme vital info on players. I played 1k+ of .25/.50 today, n did good. Played few hundred .5/1 and up about 2 buyins. VERY good day IMO. More importantly, I got my confidence backkkkk :)

I've watched some CR videos and starting thinking about them. Watching them isn't enough, thinking and analyzing the video is far more important.

One thing I have been doing a lot lately, which has been working, is squeezing from Blinds when there is a caller in between. So far everyone has been folding. Times where I did not plan on 3betting, then see that the SB called the BU's raise, I 3bet with a wide range n usually take the pot down right there. Initital raiser for some reason gives more respect and doesn't know what SB is going to do, so folds and to me SB doesnt seem very strong for just calling BU's raise. Interesting. Been working good so far. Another is when I am origingal raiser and I cbet flop get called. I C/R turn if i did hit the flop as a lot more ppl float/call flops with mid pair at this lvl. Plays like these weren't necessary at the lower stakes.

Yet another losing day...

Blog by : OmniSayon

Played 1500 hands ot 50NL today. Its much much easier than 100NL....yet I lost. I was down -$140 at the end of it. Some coolers but some reallllllyyyyyyyy bad play. Couple of things i need to improve.

- Don't slow play anything.

- Stop calling 3 bet lightly cuz i think they are "making" a move.

- Learn to pot control better.

- Need to get better at hand reading.

-Stop giving people so much credit and playing scared. Be aggressive.

Another losing session sucks. I'm up $124 so far this month after playing 50 hours. That is horribleeeeee. I've got a lot to improve, starting with the basics.

SIgh. Another losing session. Bad play + some coolers. Down $260. I'm gonna go down to .25/.50 and play that for a few thousand hands n then move back up. Once I win about 500-1k at .25/.50, ill move back up.

Wow...

Wow i freakin suck. .5/1 is being toughhhhhh for me. Im pissed, not so much at the amount of money im losing....but that I cant overcome this obstacle as ezily as i did .25/.50 Need to do more studying. I had soooooooooooo many spewy hands that no point on postin them. I did get some coolers (set over set, 2nd nut flush vs nut flush, etc). I was up 200 for the day den went down to -300 now at -200 n calling it a day. did like 1600+ hands today, so not bad.

One good news is that I 6 tabled 6 max today. It wasnt too difficult like i imagined. I'm gonna order a 24" LCD monitor asap so i can 6table better. 1920X1200 shud b ideal for 6 tabling. ahhhhhhhhh im so mad at myself. there is no room for any fucking mistakes in this game. NONE! need to learn to be more consistant.

ok i HAD to post this hand....n how bad i played it lol......

Why are live players so bad?

Blog by : OmniSayon
0

Just got back from some poker club, playing 1/2. Lost $350 in one hand set over set but was still up $500 for the night. My question is, why are real life players sooooooooo bad? N why do everyone one of them think they are god's gift to the poker world? I just keep my mouth shut and laff in the inside. .5/1 online regs are infinitely better than live 1/2 players. The rake at poker clubs are higher than casino's so thats why i choose not to grind it out. Sometimes go for fun, like once or twice a month at most. Well, this $500 shud last me two weeks or so for hangin out/food or w/e. Not bad, not bad. I'm tempted to go back cuz how bad they are, but lets see. I know the rake/tip will be hard to beat in the long run.
