Gettin' my crap straight...

Blog by : MattDillon10

I have played horribly BAD the past two days. I figured up $85 that I just donked away. There is NO ROOM for this crap. Todays session I ended in the red, but would have been broke even if I hadn't been such an idiot. I think it creaps on me so easily after a few good running days in a row.

To prevent this garbage in the future, what I will be doing is posting those embarrising hands here, no matter how much I don't want to and no matter how many or few they are.

IF YOU READ THIS PLEASE GIVE ME HECK. I NEED TO SEE FOR MYSELF HOW SILLY MY DECISIONS ARE.

Past two days went well

In six months I plan on taking shots at 2/4NL. It is 100% doable. Tomorrow I'll post a little outline to show how easily it can be done. Maybe easy isn't the word... But probable.

Also, tomorrow I have a coaching session with yourfriendsmapty. This will be my second session with him. I'm sure I'll learn alot. Should be fun.

Todays stats:

Yesterdays stats:

I saw the movie, "21". Thought it was swell. Makes me want to learn how to count cards.

BADA BING BADA BOOM!!! and GOALS:

Blog by : MattDillon10

Poker is so much fun when you run like God. It seems so easy. Seems like anyone can do it. Ahhh. It's days like this that remind me of why I love poker.

I didn't have time to put in alot of hands, but that may have been a good thing. I dunno if that win rate is sustainable. heh.

After lots of tourney entries and crap that I shouldnt have used my bankroll on my roll is only about $550ish. This is so stupid cause I could have like $700, so by the time I get my rakeback payment for May combined with my winnings up to that point, I should have been able to take shots at 50/NL. But it looks like it will be mid May at the soonest. So, to avoid the prolonging of my ascent to hgher stakes I will impliment some goals/rules.

Play minimum 25,000 hands per month.

If tables are sucky don't play, but use the time to datamine.

Only play stake I'm rolled for.... No HU, no tourneys unless it is something like a $1 MTT to let off stress.

Focus on building a bankroll. I always want to get one big hit, like win a big tourney, etc. Life is tuff, so is poker. I have to work long and hard for it. It won't come easy.

MEH...

Blog by : MattDillon10

I dunno what that means, but I get the impression it may be an acronym for "so so".

I busted out of the 750K Guraentee at like 780ish place. It payed 522 places and started with 3700. Nothing tilts me more than playing a big tourney for three hours and busting out with nothing to show for it. There were two hands that took me out. The main one was my KK against AA aipf. The bad thing was that I hit a K on the flop, but an A fell on the river. But then the hand that actually took me all the way out was AK aipf against 55. It was a few hands after the KK, so I was wounded pretty bad at that point anyway.

There is so much stress involved in big MTTs. My heart was pounding the entire time. It can't be good for my health. I am going to try to stick to cash games until I get a big enough bankroll that it doesn't effect me this way when I play a big MTT. Plus they kill my mini bankroll, even though I win sattalites it still puts a heavy toll on such a small roll.

As for cash games today, I hardly played at all. I just felt exhausted after the tourney, so I only put in a few hundred hands.

Guess my aggro factor was a little low. I think I do better playing a lower vpip and pfr at these stakes. Something like 17/15/4. I think you can get away ok with these stats at 25/NL. Not so much at 50/NL plus.

Well, I have now experienced an 11 BI downswing

Blog by : MattDillon10

Here are the stats since my last post...

LOL. What can I say. I have ran horrible, but I did tilt because of it. I estimate about $80 or so of this was me tilting it off. That's ALOT. Right when you think you can handle tilt well it slaps you right in the face. On a good note, todays session which was about 600 hands went well. I won about a buy in. I know I can pull out of it. It really makes me wish I hadn't tilted cause then there wouldn't be that much to pull out of.

I realize my blog is kinda bla, so I will try to post some hands next time and maybe something to give it a little color.

On my way

Blog by : MattDillon10
0

Well, my roll is slowly climbing and by May 1st-ish I should be able to take some shots at 50/NL. Today, I played about a 5 1/2 hour session. I played only four tables mostly. I feel like I should have done much better. I made quite a few mistakes and let one guy really make me tilt early on in the session. But I shook it off soon enough and got back on track.

Before I play another hand of poker I need to watch some videos and try to learn a little. It's tempting to just hop on the computer and start playing, but I think to be successful you must study/review/work on game just as much as you play.
