yay I did it :)

It took 34.000 hands - 77 hours and a MTR of 4.01 to do it.

In addition to the $1000 bonus and the $697 rakeback, I made a profit of $2537 making the total profit for the project a sweet $4234. And at an pt/bb @ 3,7 most people can pull this off.

Some math facts at SH NL100:

8x 1000$ bonus with 35% rb equals a total rb % of 82,5.

An 8x bonus = 48,6 % rb

A 10x bonus = 38,9 % rb

1 point = 4,25 hands

Status for September and the 1000$ bonus project.

Blog by : Knudsen

First of all September went acceptable. I was hoping for a bigger win but looking at the last four month I can't be too disappointed.

The result was 16.408 hands played (most ever) and about 1k$ + 400$ rb I profits. The pt/bb was not that amazing but is probably due to me 4-tabling.

I don't have any graph to show for it as PT3 is somehow missing some hands which make the PT result way off. Thank God I still use a pen and paper as well J

As to the bonus project I realized at half way that I wasn't playing enough. Due to this I have started 6-tabling which have worked out fine for about 4000 hands. Actually today I have played 2237 hands (pt/bb 11) which I think is the most ever.

I have now played 21.719 hands and earned 5143 point out of the required 8000. At this rate I will need to play a total of 33.785 hands. This means I have 25 days to play the last 12066 hands. This should indeed be possible.

Take care at the tables.

Hey all

I was out for the weekend so didn't play for a couple of days. Today i was determined to make up for it so I played almost 2000 hands - running around 5 ptbb - not too bad but not great either.

Since the 27 of august I have now played 8873 hands and gained 2111 point out of the 8000 required. Adding up the numbers reveals that 33.626 hands are required to get the bonus.

I have now played 5436 hands since the 27. august and I have cleared 1386 point out of 8000.

Things are looking good. I have 4-tablet and my winrate is a nice 13.66 ptbb/100 - sweet! Lets keep it up. :o)

Some simpel math reveals that in order to clear the $1000 bonus I will have to play approximately 31.377 hands. So quite a way to go yet - but I'm ahead of scheduel and i'm grinding away :)

Back to Basics

Blog by : Knudsen

Okay that it! I'm sick of not winning any money for the past 4 month. I have no clue as to why I stopped winning (or at least I refuse to recognize that I was merely on an upswing). I have not lost any money but plying without winning is no fun either.

I asked a poker friend of mine what to do. He insta-said: "drop a level or two". At first I didn't want to do that because I had already gone from NL400 and back to NL200. But after yet another bad day at the tables I packed my ego together and have gone back to NL100 to regain confidence in myself. At the same time I have signed up at a new site (eurobet) and are going for a 1000$ bonus (8xpoints = 30.000 hands at NL100) To do this I have only 60 days. So hopefully this will motivate me.

As another new thing I will each month withdraw half of the months poker earnings. I hope this as well will motivate me to play more - I have always just build on my BR and never seen any of my money. My hope is that standing with real money in my hand makes me realize that NL100 also is a decent level. I will however only withdraw half the earnings as long as my total BR is above $15K.

And yes - I have already been playing this project for 3 days and so far it's going good. ~3000 hands and ~$800 in winning - Might almost save this crappy month.

May status - I suck so bad!

Blog by : Knudsen

This is so depressing. May was my first loosing month this year. My PT fucked up completely so no graphs.

May result: 8853 hand minus 121$ RB/bonus included.

This obviously is not the end of the world but as june is looking even worse (5000 hands and minus 700$) I'm really starting to doubt myself. So what is different in my game since I was winning? Let look at PT for marts og june.

I play a bit more tight but the game has also changed from 5 handed to 6 handed.

The only differet I spot is the WentToShowDown .. hmm perhaps I fold to much. I will have to analyse this much more - also this sampel size is not so big but many of my loosing period hands are divided on PT2 and PT3.

If you can spot a leak please comment.

Poker-Gods! please change my luck soon :)

The 5 to 6 handed game is due to a platform change. I had to try out PT3 so this month I have played at ipoker. Today my VIP-manager from ongame called to hear why I havent been playing there this month. I basicly told him that their bonus program sucked. As a sign of good fate he has offed me an cashbonus. The terms sucked though so Im trying to milk them for a sweet bonus......so sweet of them to call - they really care LOL

Update on the project.

I need to get back on track!

I have been setting aside the rules I made regarding playing 10.000 hands at NL200 before trying out NL400 again.

Yes I have played a few sessions at NL400. The tables were just so good and at the same time I couldn't find a decent NL200 table. If you check out the screen dump of the table today you will see what I mean. Unfortunately I have lost around $500 playing around 500 hands but I am sure it is just a matter of time until I hit a wave. I mean - with such opponents you really should be winning long term.

The reel problem I'm facing is that I now have played 8797 hands at NL200 and only won a measly $273. That pretty far from the planned $1800. I feel like I have been making some really dumb calls and I hope laying down a few more hands will show an increase of profits.

I most just add that I have had some PT trouble due to a full database (so I had to convert to PostSQL). This mean that I lost around 500 hands. Nevertheless it wouldnt have change the overall disapointing result.

Status April

Blog by : Knudsen

It has been a small month to me. As I wrote last time I didn't really feel like playing. I really hope this has saved me a bunch of dollars but who know.

I started the month at NL400 but have gone back to NL200 for now.

Beside to the profit on Pokertracker I have earned about 300$ more in PLO and got 350$ in rakeback. This makes the total profit of April around 800-900$.

Today I have played 4 tables of NL200 around 700 hands earning almost 3 buyins. The great thing really was that before I started playing I really wanted to. I felt like playing and I think I played well making some good decisions. I hope this means I will get more time at the tables this month.

Good luck out there.

I am back playing.

Blog by : Knudsen

I am back! I am now back in more than one sense as I'm back playing and back at NL200.

I haven't been playing poker for three weeks. I have had plenty of time to play but just haven't been feeling like playing - and one thing I have learned in the past is to never play when not feeling like it.

I have been thinking a lot as to why I didn't feel like playing. I have come to the conclusion that I wasn't enjoying myself at NL400. It sounds weird because I was actually winning in the 5000 hands I have played there so far. But I think I wasn't mentally ready for the swings. Yet I didn't feel like I was playing scared at all - making good calls, marginal value bets, getting it all-in with a semibluff - ect. The problem was at the end of session seeing this red number being larger than normal just put too much pressure on me - well writing this I guess I was sort scared but in a non-conventional way.

Anyway last night I decided to go back to NL200 for a while. I will play exclusive NL200 for a minimum of 10.000 hands while getting used to the game again. If I play this with a win-rate above 5 ptbb/100 I will try implementing a NL400 table among my 3-4 NL200 tables.

What is also part of the decision is the comment from dymarkel and belfunk. Thanks guys. It always nice to get some advice from successful players.

I started the day of with watching Stingers new PLO video - had to see what the man that made a 1M month had to say. Afterwards I tried playing some PLO100. I ran into some good cards and ended up 2½ buyin. Nice start. I then played a 1000 hands session at NLHE200. Started of good and won 1½ buyin. Unfortunately I ended the session down 77 $. But I feel like I played well making only a few mistakes.

Below is a graph of todays hands and my NL400 stats along with my NL200 for the month. Dont look too good...yet :)
