I am back! I am now back in more than one sense as I'm back playing and back at NL200.
I haven't been playing poker for three weeks. I have had plenty of time to play but just haven't been feeling like playing - and one thing I have learned in the past is to never play when not feeling like it.
I have been thinking a lot as to why I didn't feel like playing. I have come to the conclusion that I wasn't enjoying myself at NL400. It sounds weird because I was actually winning in the 5000 hands I have played there so far. But I think I wasn't mentally ready for the swings. Yet I didn't feel like I was playing scared at all - making good calls, marginal value bets, getting it all-in with a semibluff - ect. The problem was at the end of session seeing this red number being larger than normal just put too much pressure on me - well writing this I guess I was sort scared but in a non-conventional way.
Anyway last night I decided to go back to NL200 for a while. I will play exclusive NL200 for a minimum of 10.000 hands while getting used to the game again. If I play this with a win-rate above 5 ptbb/100 I will try implementing a NL400 table among my 3-4 NL200 tables.
What is also part of the decision is the comment from dymarkel and belfunk. Thanks guys. It always nice to get some advice from successful players.
I started the day of with watching Stingers new PLO video - had to see what the man that made a 1M month had to say. Afterwards I tried playing some PLO100. I ran into some good cards and ended up 2½ buyin. Nice start. I then played a 1000 hands session at NLHE200. Started of good and won 1½ buyin. Unfortunately I ended the session down 77 $. But I feel like I played well making only a few mistakes.
Below is a graph of todays hands and my NL400 stats along with my NL200 for the month. Dont look too good...yet :)
