First!

So I finally gave in and am giving this whole blogging thing a shot. Possibly to help put off the school papers that are lingering on my to do list, and possibly because I am mostly an unknown in the poker community and would like to establish some connections.

So who am I? I am 23 and a few quarters away from graduating from CSULA (not UCLA). Originally from northern California, I moved down to LA for school and to be closer to my sister, who recently transferred to Michigan in pursuit of her music career. Though I have been playing online poker for a few years now, I hadn't experienced real success until this year.

When I got back from a trip to Israel in January, I was on the grind playing 1/2 and finally maintaining a solid winrate. As my bankroll grew I took occasional shots at 2/4, but never really was able to quite get into my comfort zone. At this point I started taking shots at 5/10 live. I experienced some fantastic results and soon began playing 10/20 at commerce where I killed the game for about a month. And then... doomswitch. I bought a new car (Honda S2000) with my newfound bankroll and then proceeded to lose playing live for about a month straight. I dropped back down to 5/10 and ran bad there as well.

Life tilted and eager to make a comeback, I decided it was back to the online grind. 12 tabling 1/2 NL on tilt for the greater part of July, I was able to start rebuilding a skeleton of my old bankroll. Unfortunately I proceeded to have about a 40k hand breakeven stretch for the latter half of the month (played about 90k hands of holdem). At this point, however, I started taking PLO seriously. A guy I had met at the Hustler Casino played PLO exclusively and I began to talk about strategy for the game with him on AIM. My PLO game rapidly improved as did my bankroll as I ran very very hot.

Fast forward to now
