CheckPoint

So my restart of building the roll has gone really slow. Started of really bad at NL25.
Now I have played 17668 hands and have won $32, hehe. Im sure my winrate is going to add up soon, I just had a really sick start of this. I'm expecting to play NL50 before this month end.

Rough times

Blog by : JimmyRare

Ive been playing around 12k hands now at NL20/NL25 and I'm down $150 or 6 buyins. Not very much but with the players I'm playing against in mind it feels like one has to have alot of bad luck to get in the negative.

What concerns me most right now is that Im bleeding more than ever in the non-showdown hands which obviously is related to people at NL25 calling down too much preventing me from picking up small pots.
But i don't win ver much at showdown either, that is the weird part. Everytime I get to showdown, and yes I play pretty showdown dependent at NL25 for reasons mentioned above, it seems they always have the better hand. It is a ver frustrating feeling to play tight, valuebet hands and then have the worse hand. Also I always get caught bluffing even do it seems it's a very good spot to bluff.

Well, I guess I have to keep fighting harder, but it feels really weird to move down to these micros and don't be able to win.

I did some analysis in Holdem Manager to see if I could find what is going wrong. What I found out was that I am losing alot of money in multiway pots. For example I raise in the CO and both blinds calls, this is often a losing spot unless the board comes out really good. But if only one of the blinds calls then I show automatic profit by C-betting almost always.
So the problem is at NL25 there are ALOT more mutiway pots, and I need to get better at playing these, I am not sure if cbetting is very profitable as a bluff at all in these spots, especially not oop.
The simpliest solution seems to be instead of raising 3xBB preflop I should try and increase it to 5xBB for a while and see what happens, then I can analyze and tweak my preflop raise sizing.
Really it is very logic; they call too much preflop so we have to increase our raise size to make them pay more for their mistakes.

Update and new goals

Blog by : JimmyRare

Ive been thinking a bit and I decided to play some NL20 aswell on another site, the reason is I have a great rakeback deal there which will help me up in stakes alot faster. It equals to around 3ptbb/100 in just rakeback which is pretty stupid to give up. However I will not count rakeback as winnings.

I will play 20k hands at NL20 just to prove to myself that I do beat these microstakes games.
So far I am up $130 in about 3k hands, so I'm doing good. I will probably do the same at NL50 but with a somewhat larger samplesize, like 40k hands.

Also I'll add some things to my goals including me losing some bodyfat and trying to get in shape, so here it goes:

Goals:

Poker
-Play 20k hands of NL20 and evaluate before August ends
-Do not get fancy at the tables
-Be immune to bad beats
-Do NOT look at graph/result during the session
-Do at least 2k hands every weekday, great if possible on weekends to

Body/Health
-Lose 15kg of bodyweight before christmas
-Just do the gym/walk/whatever first thing in the morning
-Take a picture of me and my body each day until goal is reached starting Monday 10th of August

Progress:
NL20 = 3k/20k hands done

Weight = 0kg/15kg lost

Reload bonus

Blog by : JimmyRare

PokerStars offer a 50% bonus up to $300 so I thougt I might just aswell put over another $600.
This brings me up to $1106 on PokerStars and I will start playing nl25 instead of nl10 now. Also this makes it alot easier to release the bonus in decent time.

So I will move up to nl50 when I reach $1500, wish me luck. Thanks.

I'm back

Blog by : JimmyRare

I've been away from blogging for a long time. It is a good idea to have a blog to keep motivation at highest.
I'm going out on a new adventure by starting over at NL10 on PokerStars. This might sound stupid, but I'm not in it for making money anylonger, I do it purely for having fun from now on. I've been angry at poker for a while and I'm done with that.

My current restarted roll is at $475 and I will move up to NL25 at $750. The rules and goals are as follows:

Rules:
-Play a maximum of 4 tables
-Have fun or quit

Goals:
-Do not overthink hands
-Play solid
-Reach 5ptbb/100 over before moving up
-Reach 30 buyins for the next stake before moving up

Worst session

Blog by : JimmyRare
0

Played a 3,5h session and it went really bad. I admit I spewed a little bit in the begininng, double barreling in reraised pots when I though the opportunity was given. Mostly it was just bad spots all the time for 3,5 hours. Everything that could go wrong went wrong. I did soem marginal calls which might have cost me some which is obviously bad.
Those swings is something I have to get used to. Now I feel like the game is impossible to beat just because everything went bad in one session.
I plan on playing some more tonight, but if I lose too much I'll quit to avoid tilt.

Did another session and lost QQ vs set in RR, KK vs AA pre.. AJ vs A4, YOU name it!
7 buyins in on day, brutal, just brutal. Now will be a good time to exercise emotional control.
I could post 20 bad beats, I won't. There must be a way to turn this ship around.

Pretty depressing since this month started off very well, but now I am breakeven over like 14k hands. I know that's absolutley possible, but meh. I have a hard time handle this stuff... ugh!

Some grind

Blog by : JimmyRare

Just finished a 5h session 3-4tabling NL50. Had some coolers but ended up being pretty satisfied with my play.
I am looking for spots to picking up more pots. (3b in pos, raise flop, float flop etc.)
Against most players at NL50 those "moves" aren't really necessary so I'm just doing it against players I know is somewhat thinking players.
The habit of picking up reads keeps getting better and better. Nowadays I automatically look on almost every showdown pot if there is some action. This helps my game soooo much.
Looking forward to next session!

New goals

Blog by : JimmyRare

Today I made a new goal that I will play 25h the upcoming week.
Played a session of 5h and 40min and ended up breakeven. Had some sick pots vs a maniac who just played every hand. He flopped a straight against my set, then he rivered the full house against my turned flush. Those were the main reason it didn't go my way. Nothing to bother with, just trying to summarize the session.
At first I tried to 3b more in position but it didn't work very well so I have to look deeper into that.

Weekly goal:
Day 1/7
5:40/25:00
