March 20th Night Session / March 21st Day Session - End of First 50NL Run

I missed my blog last night because basically it was more of the same bad run of unlucky beats. This is the pits and unfortunately i'm going to have to revert back to 25NL as I have run back down to my 1250 breaking point. I aloted myself 5 Buyins for this first run at 50NL which I started at 1500. During the run I hit a high of 1800 within the first 3 days of starting 50NL and then over the last week I have hit this wall and run into horrible hands in order to have to revert back to 25NL to stay within my bankroll requirements. I will take another 5 BI run when I get back to 1500 once again, but for now I'm going to be working my BR back up to that point with 25NL.

On the upside I had a job interview today at Maxim Health Services and was offered the job. It was the 3rd of a 3 interview session and they ended up feeling as if I would be a great fit in their office. I have decided to take another week or two to think over the position and make sure that it is what I really want to do. I also have another interview on monday with AIG and I want to excercise all my options before jumping into anything. Hopefully things go well in the AIG interview on monday and I will have more than one option. Wish me luck in both my job hunting and poker. I don't think I'll be posting hands for this session as I'm trying to remain positive about moving back down to 25NL and I think reviewing the negative hands will only bring me down. I'll post again tommorrow with how things go at 25NL should I play anymore tonight.

March 20th Day Session

I was able to grab back a buyin during my day session. I was up another couple of buyins at one point but overplayed KK in a big hand as you will see in my hh review and also hit a couple more bad beats. The day started off real well though which made me feel like the slump was over, but then I ran into a few of these tough hands. Hopefully I can redeem a few more BI's tonite. At least I ended in the positive.

March 19th Night Session

Unfortunatly, nothing changed in the night session. I continued to run very poorly. I'm not sure whats going on but I dropped another 3 BI at night. Here are the Hands that contributed to my second pounding of the day:

Winning Hands

Hand 1: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2300022

Hand 2: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2300025

Hand 3: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2300028

Hand 4: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2300030

Hand 5: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2300036

Hand 6: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2300037

Losing Hands

Hand 1: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2300012

Hand 2: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2300018

Hand 3: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2300034

Hand 4: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2300043

Hand 5: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2300045

Hand 6: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2300046

I ended the day down 6BI which is probably my worst lose for a day. Definetly the most money I've lost in 1 day but I'm not sure if i've ever lost more BI than 6 in a day. I'm getting crushed by the deck and I'm hoping it will change soon. If it doesn't I'll have to revert back to 25NL if I lose 3 more BI. What sucks is that I don't feel like the reason I'll have to revert back has much to do with me playing badly or not being able to handle this level. Just that I'm getting crushed by the deck and I want to follow good bankroll managment so that I can put in another crack at 50NL quickly should I fall to or below 1250. Everyone cross your fingers and hope I don't get crushed for another 3 BI today and I can continue my first run at 50NL. Calling it a night after a day full of beat downs. Hopefully I don't have nightmares of bad beats.

March 19th Day Session

I woke up this morning after a good nights sleep ready to hit the 50NL tables and possibly make up some ground in the BR headed towards 100NL. Unfortunatly I ran like a terd this morning and got trucked for 3 BI's. The following make up some of the hands that put together my losing session this morning.

Hand 1: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2296166

Guy either crushed the flop with trips/straight or he rivered me, either way I'm beat.

Hand 2: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2296174

Tried to pick off a bluff here, but guy made a horrible call on the flop and turned a set. Standard.

Hand 3: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2296183

Coolered set over set. Ouch!

The rest of the session was made up of numerous occasions of me missing and get raised or reraised on the flop or turn. These types of sessions are the pits and make the day out to be a real grind. I just have to keep looking to the big picture and realize that over the long run I will come out shining if I continue to learn and play to the best of my ability. Hopefully I can make up for my losses tonite as I will have alot of time to play.

Marth 18th Night Session

Tonights session was a rollercoaster. I started off down almost 2 buyins before turing it around and ending the night up 1 buy in. There were a few key hands that I wanted to post that took me through the session in that manner.

Winning Hands -

Hand 1: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2295855

Ended up way better of on the turn in this hand than I thought I was and the river came through. Either way I like the way I played this. If anyone else has any objections or feels I should have slowed up anywhere please feel free to make comments as I'm blogging to learn. This statement goes for all hands.

Hand 2: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2295881

I again play this hand very agressively. The turn mints me even though i was already ahead in the hand and my opponent overvalues his hand largely in order for a big pay off.

Hand 3: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2295889

Over Pair plus a flush draw vs Over Pair plus flush draw and mine just happened to be bigger.

Hand 4: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2295900

Hit top pair and outrun a flush draw.

Losing Hands -

Hand 1: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2295870

Felt I was behind to a straight here if anyone feels this was a bad fold please comment.

Hand 2: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2295905

Felt I was betting into a flush draw until the push on the turn and then I think I'm def behind.

Hand 3: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2295913

Flopped Trips Vs Straight. Ugh!

Hand 4: http://www.pokerhand.org/?2295919

Kinda got stuck here Overpair vs Overpair.

Starting New Blog

Blog by : JeReMiaH

I have decided to start a new blog. I currently just moved up from 25NL to 50NL and am predominantly a cash game player looking to increase my bankroll and climb the ranks to be at least bankrolled in 200NL or 1/2NL by the end of 2008. With this type of bankroll I will be able to revert back and forth from live to internet play and be bankrolled at all times. I am starting this blog in order to help teach myself as well as take in any advice that those who read my blog might have for me. I will be posting after most sessions and keeping everyone up to date with how my bankroll progress is going. I'd also like to discuss my sessions and key hands after each session in order to take advice from others on these hands. If at anytime anyone has comments on how i play a hand that i have posted i would really appreciate any advice. In the future if anyone feels they can help my game in anyway please leave me a comment here or a private message at cr. I will also try and put an entertaining post in the blog every now and then about how life is going as a low limit cash game player hoping to make it big some day.

Starting Bankroll: $1650.00
