Variance...and suggestions wanted

Blog by : JDPriest

Ok since my last blog, Ive played 4 sessions, going LWLW, so I have a kinda dumb graph since sunday:

Even over a small sample, its pretty clear something isnt right! Ive definitely tilted too much in this period, I'll post a couple of examples of this to embarrass myself:

Because 26/24s never have a hand when they 3bet and double barrel...agree?? Sigh

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2187178

20/18s shouldnt hit sets, even when the flop hits their pf calling range so hard!

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2187186

And if you see someone bluff once for stacks, obv they never have a hand after that event

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2187193

Ok enough of that, Ive only really got one hand that is worth analysis imo:

A lot of people have told me that this is really standard, but it felt bad at the time, and Im still not sure so if anyone wants to comment that would be cool. Villain is 15/12/2, does he bluff/shove worse the 30% of the time we need for this call to be good?

My biggest pot of the week, and also one of the funniest

And just a quick look at what happens to regs on tilt

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2187201

So overall I think the mechanics of my game are quite good, certainly good enough to beat stars 1-2, but I desperately need to work on keeping a cool head for full sessions. In the meantime I think I am going to move my roll off stars, Ive never really played anywhere else, but Im pretty sure its the toughest 1-2 game on the net, meaning there are other much softer games. Im thinking I should move to a Euro site, cos we all suck at poker, in general! I need a site that ticks most of these boxes

1, Soft (obv)

2, Reasonable level of traffic

3, Rakeback which is higher than stars supernova (~27%)

4, Datamining allowed

5, Resizeable tables

6, Ok looking interface

If anyone has any suggestions Id really appreciate some input

I'll end with an image from this week, Im sure it happens a lot at 6max, but I dont recall ever seeing it at 1-2:

1000bb stacks are pretty hot!

Ok gl to everyone reading, and please leave comments!

Small Downswing

Blog by : JDPriest

On a bit of a downswing at the moment, this is since Sunday:

My poker ev graph shows Im running a few BI below expectation, but to be honest I think I havent played all that great. I started by coming home drunk on Sunday night and losing $500 (I woke up thinking I had broke even!) This is by far my biggest weakness in poker, and its not even close. I wish I knew how much I had lost playing drunk, but Id guess its 15k+ in the last 15 months

Anyway I'm training tonight, and working most of tomorrow, looks like a good spot to take a short break. Im not worried about losing the money, I just hate not wanting to play poker. I know it only takes one good session tho so I'll come back refreshed and start crushing the games again!

Until the, gl at the tables

The start of something beautiful.....:-s

Hey guys, Ive been meaning to start a blog on CR for a while, finally this morning I thought fuck it lets go! A very little bit about me, I play 1-2 on Stars, this has pretty much been my main game since the start of the year. Last year I spent maybe 75% of my time playing mtts, thankfully I saw the light and have made the switch, permanently!

Outside of poker, Im a 25 year old guy living in Halifax, UK, poker is 90% of my income, I also work part time in a pub, mainly just to get me out and its a pretty big way of socialising/having fun/drinking! Im very much into sport, lifelong MUFC fan, also play football, cricket, and goto the gym regularly.

Ok enough of that stuff for now, I'll touch on my personal life more as it happens I guess. Im gonna post a lot of results and hands etc.

February, 5.3k at 1-2, 1.8k at 2-4

This is purely 1-2 since Jan 1

So I dont have hands from a recent session to post, so Im gonna post the 3 biggest winners and losers of the month

Apologies for not knowing how to use the convertor
