An Even LONGER hiatus...

0

So, ended up going to my first live game in so long because nothing else was going on (a lot of ppl from school were going back home for Easter). I drive my 45 mins to the live game and was itching for live action. Bought in $300 to start, and ended up like SECOND hand getting AQ. UTG+1 raised, UTG+2 cc'ed (UTG+1 is a girl who's pretty decent but very straightforward player) and no reads on UTG+2. I cc with AQ from the hijack and everyone else folds. Flop is QJx, with two clubs. UTG+2 fires $50 into the ~$63 pot, I raise to $165 (don't have the Ac), and UTG+1 girl ships while UTG+2 folds. Considering i basically potfucked myself, I tank and tank and call. She has QQ...I turn the A (oohs and ahhs) and river blank. Yippee! If I cc'ed the flop, I woulda turned the Ace anyway, so I prob woulda went broke with my stack with top two on a drawy board, so not much coulda changed. I GUESS I coulda folded pre...but that IMO is weak. I reload for $300.

The other big hand I was up to $400 (but still stuck $200 overall) and I straddle to $6 and UTG+1 restraddles to $17. Folds around to button who raises to $45...decent middle age guy whos actually pretty nice and was joking the whole time w/ me. Anyway, I look down at KK from the original straddle and think...this guy is pretty straightforward, so I put him on a good hand...most likely JJ or QQ. I reraise to $120. 2nd straddle folds, and button thinks a bit and shoves. I snapcall, he has AA. Flop is QJx, turn A, riv blank. Cool...$600 pot KK to AA in a double-straddled pot vs a button open...YES!

I ended up having like $150 left after that hand, rebought my last $100, and just ended up running into case hands while playing tight. So fuck my life, whenever I need to run well, it never happens.

I cannot play any more poker (of any kind) until my parents fucking pay me some money back. I need to save up as much money for summer as possible (mainly for alcohol or travelling).

In regards to a comment from last blog " Wow haha, seriously. Getting your money in BAD isn't running bad. These aren't coolers.

I actually typed out a massive post thinking this was 6-max. I suppose it's slightly different because it's HU. But this is no example of running bad, you just got your money in bad because you can't put your opponent on decent pre flop ranges."

This is literally retarded to think that. "slightly diff than HU?" Um no...HU is drastically different. This IS an example of running bad. Folding TT alone preflop in HU to someone that is tight is weakish and exploitable, but to a crazy maniac who I've been playing with forever is just plain criminal. To say I can't put opponents on decent preflop ranges is so fucking retarded. You're just a fuck who has no idea how to play HU. And in regards to the QQ...lol...if you ever fold QQ preflop HU basically u should quit poker and go hang urself. Getting TT to JJ preflop and QQ to AA preflop heads up vs a psycho with a lot of history between us this match are both total coolers.

SOOOO one day I'll get paid back by parents for college and be able to regrind. I miss poker kind of, but then again, I don't. Schools stressful enough, and as long as I've been just focusing on fun when I don't have school shit, I've been doing pretty well. I guess I might as well consider not playing poker just a vacation (because it's technically a break from my job).
