Interesting Night

Blog by : IversonXX3

Sooo, I had a -2.3k day today over 3 sessions; played well and just ran like shit. THEN, I came back, and one hour later after shorstacking 8 tables of 2/4 PLO, I managed to scrape together a great comeback (even after misreading the board a few times in big pots)!!! SOOO, the roll is @ 9.4k- I consider -600 day after this as nearly a win!! Im about to log a sesh now.

I'm still not sure if I wanna stay at NL200 6max and GRIND and whatnot, or if I wanna move down to nl100, cash out, and just make constant money, play 100 6max and HU sngs, etc. I think I play all of them well, but I srsly need a plan. I would love to be a nl200 reg, and I know I can def beat the game, but a decent bit of money at stake and all. I really have no idea what I'm doing as far as that goes; I would really like to invest some moniez- I have a lot of money sitting in bank account doing nothing.

I did go to a party tonite, and saw JEM87 (nuggets87 on stars); VERY strong 6max and pretty good HU player at 2/4-5/10 on Stars. Very interesting meeting him and talking poker, and he said I won a nice bit off him HU on Stars one session at 2/4 a while ago :) Confidence booster and solid brag, IMO hehe. Cops were constantly patrolling outside tho so me and my friends dipped!

So, if anyone has a plan for me, lemme hear it! And no things like "200/400 PLO shorstack for whole roll GOGOGOOGO" like something you'd c on BBV...cuz that's just gay. I think cashing out sounds great, but not sure how cashouts via check on FTP are doing right now and all (as far as banks accepting it and all). Cashing out makes me feel refreshed and I see the fruits of my labor and all; I'd say it's prob a good idea for me...

BTW GETTING A 40 INCH SONY LCD TV that is MONEYYY for $800. It has a small crack in the frame, which is just strictly cosmetic, because the TV works great. I hope to hook it to the comp and fire up some tables on this legit TV! I can actually have the dual monitor setup; 40 inch monitor for teh pokers, and regular internet and comp shit on my 19inch monitor. Hopefully it's ILL. It's a Sony Bravia 40inch...so google it; really worth like $1100 new. How did the crack happen, you might ask? My friend came home drunk, picked up the TV and dropped it lol. He passed out next to the TV and pissed himself lol. I think the owner's really dumb for selling the TV, and I'm very pleased I'm getting such a SICK TV for a good price obv :)

Good First Official NL200 Sesh

Blog by : IversonXX3

CR user Tilllttt suggested I 6table instead of 9table as a favor (being a loyal reader), and I obliged. I'm open to all suggestions/ideas readers want to make, fwiw. Anyway, I'm very pleased he asked me, because I ran well/played well, and won 1k exactly, setting my BR @ 8.85k.

SO SWEET to win this 350bb pot on the riv. A set is the WORST HAND IN THE WORLD to see here, but luckily I suck out :)

Double float then bluff-shoving the riv? Wouldn't have tried this 9tabling... hehe :)

Calling and getting the $ in on a safe turn woulda been much better for him, and the turn was the best card he coulda hit (in his mind), but best play is certainly folding on this flop. Not a particularly interesting hand, just proof that there's still moniez to be made :)

I often play quads faster (as far as betting more), but he's such a calling station, he would fall for it. I didn't expect him to bluff-shove because he'd been passive :)

Hero showed 9 9 (four of a kind, Nines) and WON $303.10 (+$151.55 NET)

So I've determined I play a decent bit better 6tabling than 9tabling; I pick up on exploitable tendencies SO much more, as opposed to 9tabling, where it's a bit of a guessing game to figure out the fish/calling stations. So I will keep on 6tabling for a while; fuck 9tabling- as much as I love my blog readers, I think I'm much more likely to tilting/losing money/not playing optimally if I'm 9tabling, and therefore, I won't do my readers the favor of 9tabling nl200 for a while and telling them how I do hehe. 6tabling is significantly less-stimulating, but I'm def in it to make money. I may also have to limit my amount of HU tables to 3-4 at one time, and no 6max tables at the same time as well (unless theres no more than 4 tables overall). Less stimulation/degen action for me= more moniez...interesting! WHERE'S MY LAPTOP THOUGH TO MAKE IT EASIER TO FIND THESE HANDS EASIER AND ACTUALLY HAVE PT!?!? Fuck Hewlett-Packard laptops. Neway, I hope it gets back no later than 1.5 weeks. I expect the Ipod Nano to be here within the next 3 weeks as well.

ON TO NL200!!

Blog by : IversonXX3
0

Soooo...today I won $350 playing an SNG or two and some NL100 6max cash games. Then I just finished a 1.5 hr session which was very frustrating 9tabling nl100 6max and a few 109 6max sngs I ran badly in. I then just went up to nl200 to try to get more seriuos and really grind back (on a 7k roll), and I managed to make it to 7.85k, so I made a 850 comeback obv. SO TOMORROW I WILL RETACKLE NL200 6MAX AGAIN! No PLO either; just solely 9tabling the games and focusing (for tomorrow's first session). I'm a bit worried about playing in the middle of the day though, and facing only the regular grinders.

I've noticed I've been playing some more poker while in college than before; prob ~2-2.5 hrs/day, as opposed to the old 1.5-2 hrs/day, since I obv have more free time than in high school. Hopefully I can keep this up, while still balancing my social life and whatnot. The only thing I'm worried about interfering with those is education (lol); hopefully my schedule is easy enough to never overtake the things I enjoy.

Let's GOGOGOGOGO! I plan to cash out everything past $10k for at least a few months, but maybe I'll cash out everything past $8k or $9k or something; we'll see how things go...

UNSTUUUUCK!!!

I won exactly $1k today, so now I'm officially unstuck from the insane doomswitch from the other night!! YESSSS. As I predicted, it took a few days (of running decently-well), but I've done it. SWEEET. $7.2k roll now...gonna play NL$200 when I hit $8k.

Last night I played for like 2 hours; kept going +$300 or so to down like $700 very quickly!! I was playing NL$100 6max and HU, with a little PLO. Today I 6tabled though, and played like 2 or 3 ppl HU, and the other 3 or 4 tables were 6max.

HH:

Interesting hand vs massive donk I've definitely owned in the past...interesting just at the fact at how hard he spewed the turn lol.

Here's a hand where I coolered a diff guy HU. I played this guy for an hour today, and he was just the biggest fucking whiner. I ended up beating him for ~$500, told him I had to go to class in 10 mins (which I do!), and told him I'll play him at like 2 or 2:30 PM ET. He just kept giving me shit. PPL ARE THE WORST FUCKING LOSERS.

Gonna stick to the NL$100 6max and HU grind; give PLO a little break because I'm back into HU, and can't afford to play all those tables. PPL SRSLY PLAY PLO AWFUL THO- so I gotta get back into it sometime.

Pretty Solid Comeback

Blog by : IversonXX3

KK so, changed back to minbuying PLO\$200 (\$40), as well as playing NL\$100 6max AND HU as well. I played a total of 9 tables, and with about a combined 2 hours in 2 sessions, I managed to scrape back a lot of the moniez I lost yesterday. I won ~\$1150, bringing the ol' roll back to \$6.25k.

Overall, the shot at NL\$200 6max went fine, I just got totally and unreasonable DOOMSWITCHED last night (I promise it was sick and I played well). Anyway, as long as I'm not shorstacking a PLO game with <80 BI, as well as not playing a 6max game with <40 BI or a HU game with <50 BI, I'm good. I took a shot with ~30 BI, and it got back to bite me. So I'll stick to the grind; I know when I get to an \$8k roll, I should definitely be able to demolish the NL\$200 6max game.

I'm very pleased I recovered fairly well, and I'll keep sticking with this system. I got hasty and moved up to NL\$200, and though the bankroll is okay for most, I tend to have some swonnngs :) I've tightened up drastically, but I will never really tone down the aggression when I have a hand I want to play, so I should keep the bankroll cushioned.

Both of these hands are vs a HU donk I played. He was a rangemerger/bluffer/floater. I was originally down ~3 BI to him, but came back and BUSTOOOOO'd him!

Turn: (\$50) 8 (2 Players)
Hero checks, SB checks

River: (\$50) K (2 Players)
Hero checks, SB bets \$36, Hero calls \$36

Results: \$122 Pot (\$0.50 Rake)
SB showed 3 6 (a pair of Sixes) and LOST (-\$61 NET)
Hero showed 4 7 (a pair of Sevens) and WON \$121.50 (+\$60.50 NET)

He's not instaminraising Ax on this flop. It's possible he coulda rivered the gutshot, but the flush is also unlikely. So basically he has QJ, KT, or essentially air (which is what he had in this case if I were to call his bet). Since he had two hands that he could legitimately have here, I called, and beat him in a solid pot. This was a confidence-booster for me for that session.

Gonna keep grinding later, but have some fucking HW to do :-(. FWIW, I should be able to get back the other $675 or so I was stuck in a day or two, so I won't sweat it. I will miss the preflop aggression at NL$200 while playing NL$100 6max tho!

Take my word there are many more...

So basically I always run badly late at night, especially vs totally awful and erratic fuckhead.

I also am running SOOOO MUCH BELOW FUCKING EQUITY TODAY IN FUCKING PLO. I swear to G-d when I have 18-22 outs twice vs bare aces I've bricked 10/10 times today!! FUUUCK!!! Example; I get it AI on the T72r flop vs AAT3 with my K879 (with two bdoor flush draws). So basically I can hit a K,7,8,9,6,J, or backdoor suits). 3+2+3+4+4+3=19+2.5 (bdoor flush draws)=21.5 x 4= 65% equity or so in the fucking hand. Hands like this have happened all the time, and bare aces ALWAYS FUCKING HAVE HELD UP. FUCK.

Poker fucking sux. I guess it's my first losing session in a while, and I really wish I didn't go off for so much money, but if I'm playing well and the games are great and I'm putting myself in sick spots equity-wise, I guess I'm really not doing nething wrong. I'll change the stop-loss to 5 BI, even tho stop-losses are retarded in theory if you're playing well and games are as amazing as they were tonight.

Time to drop down to NL$100 and get back to $6k before I take a small shot. SOOO fucking frustrating to run like shit and lose to idiots.

Losing a 400bb+ pot suuuuxx, not gonna lie. I contemplated coldcalling the flop c/r (which I was delighted to see), however, it could be a bare JQ, or a worse draw like 78hh, 67hh, etc. Also, I don't want to coldcall, bink the turn or river, and not be able to get his whole stack, so I decided to gamble with my 55% equity and shove, just in case I did hit, I would win his whole stack, and also have a chance of getting the $ in vs a worse draw (and I'm a favorite over basically any hand except Axhh.

Good Day at NL200

Blog by : IversonXX3

So another good day at NL200. After going out to a chinese buffet with parents, followed by dropping off a bunch of shit at my house (including my laundry), I decided to log a sesh for about an hour at NL200 9tabling. I was quitting when I was up just under $1k (5BI), but then ran TPTK into a set vs a donk who was SNAPCALLING whole way (argh). Sooo, I ended ~+$850, so +4 1/4 BI (not bad imo). No reason to post HH because no HUGE hero plays today or anything; I just ran fairly well winning flips and getting good hands in good spots and all. Roll is just under $7k, so I'm feeling well.

I realized that I've recovered very strongly from my debacle in Oregon, when I lost ~$4k in one night (vs a donk who I had an edge over, though). Actually, the sick thing is, that happened probably around August 3rd, and now it's August 31st; so 28 days later, I have recovered very strongly, and essentially have an $8k roll (counting rakeback); back then it was at it's peak at around $5.6k. SOOOO, it took a while, but I recovered from a $1.4k roll to a $7k roll (not counting rb) in a matter of 28 days- NOT BAD IMO!

Going to keep grinding NL200, and possibly will cash out rakeback and invest/save/buy myself something tight. Life's good, IMO. Tonight it's time to get drunk for the last time this weekend, then recover/chill on labor day.

Interesting Shot at NL\$200

Blog by : IversonXX3
0

I come home from a party, which was a lot of fun, and I'm WIDE awake to just fucking GRINNND. I decide that I'm in the mood to play NL\$200, so I end up 3tabling NL\$100 and 3 tabling NL\$200 6max. I then bump it up to 9 tables after losing a buyin or two after straight up COOOOOLERS.

Here are some sick HH. The games are so fucking aggro. I'm SOOO happy I ended unstuck, because I was down \$1k at one point, but ended +\$300 at the end :).

\$6.1k roll- I think I'll takea another shot at 1/2nl since I know I can beat the games. Some SICK swonginesssss tho! I know I don't like variance, but I think my edge in the 1/2nl game is fairly large. Things are diff with 2/4; ppl play much better and the game plays a lot bigger than 1/2nl comparatively, so I can't see myself taking a shot at 2/4 with any less the \$12k (and it would only be a 3 BI shot max).

Finding HH is a little painstaking because I have to go through text!!

I KNEW I shoulda bluffshoved the riv on him earlier in a diff hand, even tho it was a \$30 river raise into like a \$300 pot (counting his bet)! Meh, nice pot here tho.

This hand came a few hands after I got minraised after rr pf and I bluff-shoved. I don't understand his overcall preflop OOP, and I duno if he's a good enough thinker to c/minraise this flop to let me bluff off or just cuz he's a dumb fish. Because he was already so committed, I just decided to shove him in, though my hand was essentially the nizzles IMO.

This tilts me hard. We don't have any history, so I don't understand his minraise/call on the flop. He doesn't know me. ARRRGH FUCK. I know 9s r fairly strong in this spot, but this frustrates the fuck outta me!

Vs same villain as above...I'm a little bitter I didn't think longer and valuebet or maybe even valueshove. I was a little worried about KJ or KQ. This shoulda been a clear vbet, but his timing was a little weird. I'm alittle surprised he didn't 4bet/call me pre.

Hope you all enjoyed the HH; I couldn't find one cooler where KT turned two pair on my KJ on a very drawy board and I c/rai- ARRRGHHH. Also there was another hand, but I can't particularly remember. Basically, 3 setups that cost me 3 quick BI!!! Unstucko= BEAST.

Breakeven? What Is That?

Blog by : IversonXX3
0

Ah, so I had my first breakeven session today after playing for about an hour. I was up $300 fairly quickly 9tabling my normal NL$100 and PLO$100 6max games, but then hit the quickest 5 BI downswong EVERRR in NLHE because i lost like 2 big races and then a donk turned two pair on me vs my tptk in a reraised pot... arrggh. At least I ended up even, and prob won like $30 in rakeback...but not fun IMO. I experimented with fullbuying at PLO$100 today, and I may have won a buyin, but I hate the variance, so I will keep buying in $40, even though I have a fine roll for fullbuying the game.

Once I get my rakeback, I prob wanna cash out like $2-3k (and leave $4k-$5k online) to buy myself something nice, invest, and just feel overall refreshed/rewarded after GRINNDDDINNNG. I'm still contemplating whether, if I keep winning, to win maybe a steady $4k-$5k/month doing what I'm doing, or move up to NL$200 on FTP. However, that would require a bigger roll, more patience, more discipline, etc. 1/2 is like the new 2/4 for me because I feel like I should be putting some money away to be invested, though I really have no expenses and nothing I want lol. I know I have the skills to move up to 1/2+, and I used to kill those games; I guess what it comes down to is if I can keep my self-control 100% of the time. It's been great so far, with or without my friend at the comp with me, but 1/2 may be a different ballgame and I'll have to see.

Last night I got so fcking smacked it was awesome. I rarely smoke weed, but this was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. My friend has a video on his fone, and I hope to put it up on youtube and post it on here.

I'm about to go to a buffet on campus with a friend, log another sesh (hopefully a winner), then get drunk tonight and enjoy the weekend!
