I'm home at least and on winter break, so I hope to get mindlessly-drunk for srsly the next 5 weeks straight to unwind from this shit semester. Fuck Geology 101 and Econ 103 btw.


At least for the rest of college I expect good grades because I'll never have to pledge again, as well as first semester pretty much always sucking regardless.

So, on December 6th, I officially finished pledging, and I'm now a member of Phi Kappa Sigma! It was a long two and a half months, but it was worth it. I'm close with a lot of the members of the fraternity (especially my pledge brothers), and I'm optimistic about our future at Mason. There are lots of stressful things to work out with slight turmoil, unfortunately, but I think they happened for the best.

As far as grades go...not sure if I'll be initiated (I'm RIGHT on the fucking cusp...2.25 is needed)- it all depends on the finals I took this week!. My grades are abysmal because pledging took up a shitload of time, as well as Geology 101 and Econ 103 (Micro) being hard as fuck (I thought Geology would be easy). Philosophy, English, and IT i expect to have a B in, but the abysmal grades in the other classes probably will screw me.

Once I get my end-of-the-year bonus from FTP, as well as my rakeback from LeggoPoker, I will start up again. I've just been running kinda crappy and having no fun at NL$50 6max, causing me to be on a very slow, steady, and annoying downswing. I have a lot of money that I CAN redeposit, but I just don't feel like it at this point. I'd like to think of some sort of business idea, and use the money I've made from poker to start it up. I've played the very occasional MTT with just boring zero luck. I can't run well in one of these damn things!

Winter break pretty much starts now (though I have an IT final on Tuesday), so I'm pretty psyched. Will this break be bad for my health (especially liver)? Very....

I expect to get $400 in rakeback and $350 or so from FTP; I'll just play some random MTTs with that money (fuck grinding NL$25). I may redeposit $3k, but I'm leaning towards not caring anymore about that. I'm tired of poker and I'm tired of running badly. I have run into hands for the past month and even the biggest maniacs ALWAYS have the hand. Semibluffs don't work, their hands hit, etc. I haven't tilted in a while, but clearly it doesn't matter. It reminds me of Eurolinx in April of this year. I don't expect to redeposit for a while; HOPEFULLY ONE TIME I CAN MAKE A RUN IN AN MTT and grind out. I made one monster fucking mistake in the past 2 months, and that was my shit -$6.5k at 2/4 running badly. Totally my fault, even when running badly, cuz with shots I should quit sooner. But ever since then, I've been on a constant downswing I can't fucking shake! FUUUUCK. Do I have enough money to deposit? DEFINITELY. Have I lost the will to feel like playing poker for a long while? Yes...it hasn't been fun in a long while. The point is to make money, but if every time I play I feel disheartened and frustrated, there's no point in playing. Fraternity things are also very stressful as well, and I think I may potentially take out my frustration on poker (or vice versa), so might as well leave poker out of the picture, except for some MTTs, for a while.

Things have been a little too normal for me to blog about. I haven't been playing poker for the past week and a half, since I've been trying to cool my head after my 2/4 downswing. I've also been very frustrated due to the fact that I've been way overaggro, and slowly leaning away from my A-game the past 2 weeks. I'm frustrated at myself, but I'm the only one to blame.

I hope to start back up with poker when I get my $500 in rakeback by mid-late December, and I'm getting $2k from a friend on Tuesday (I think). I had to cash out my $3.5k roll because i didn't wanna tilt it off after a bad 5 days or so at 2/4. I thought I had my personal management problems worked out, but I guess I don't. I'll go back to 4 tables of 6max NL only, and that should do the trick if I'm playing lower limits and all. I will miss the stimulation of higher limits though....but hopefully in due time things will come. If I get to NL$200, I'll stay there. When I move to NL$400, I will have my friend beside me to keep an eye out for me and spot leaks in my game- that should make ALL the difference.

Everything else has been goin okay; pledging THANKFULLY ends a week from today (actually 6 days)! I cannot wait until all this stress is relieved; I can have more time for studying for finals, as well as just free time to fucking relax (which I've barely had ANY of).

Thanksgiving break has been fun. Had a very normal Thanksgiving, though the break has been sweet itself. Gotten to party with a large variety of my friends here at home for at least half the nights I've been here. BP tourney tonight to go to as well...maybe I'll provide pics? I've found a weird problem with myself: I don't want anything anymore! I was looking through Black Friday ads, and I couldn't find shit I wanted for the holidays. Even my dad made a comment to my mom earlier, saying something like "w/e he wants he can easily buy himself or already has." This is true :-( I fortunately purchased Guitar Hero: World Tour with 2 wired controllers from RedOctane.com for $60- WHAT A STEAL! Also got a DVD upscaler, cuz I'm WAYY into getting 1080p quality (or as close to it as possible). Fuck buying a blu-ray player and changing my DVD collection to blue-rays...for now. But ya, this holiday sucks because I don't want shit. I think I will just buy clothes and have my parents reimburse me?

BTW, found a legit place that I'll give some money to- go to amazon.com/xo. It's the one laptop per child organization. Gives these durable laptops to kids in shitty countries. Pretty sweet idea, considering giving food is great and all, but it doesn't solve shit. Laptops will educate them on how to fix shit themselves. They're $200 per laptop and have wi-fi capability. Education is prob the #1 thing in fixing fucked-up countries imo. I'm going to buy 3 laptops for kids fairly soon (prob around holiday time). Took me forever to find a legit charity!

KK soo...I cashed out all moniez on FTP after 2 withdrawals and I'm moving $3k to Eurolinx. I requested the wire today, so at the latest, it should be in my account by next Tuesday (VERY latest). I looked at the hands, and they all look pretty fcking standard. When I hit the river ace, I'm valueshoving (on the 33xxx board where he ended up having quads). The 9T hand was a little thin, but he coulda been peeling that flop. I had the flush over flush twice, flopping bottom pair+ NFD and rivering trips (valueshoving there), trips over trips, and AQ and 77 AIPF vs AA and QQ after his barage of 4betting. Do I think I played badly? Hell no. I think I played remarkly well, especially with how badly I was running. If someone is 4betting you constantly pf, how can AQ and 77 not be ahead of their range most of the time? Nobody on CR who comments negatively sees the hands where I take it down preflop or anything, but rather are being results-oriented. Nobody knew the game dynamic but me and villain. I'd love to have a very strong player comment on my hands and tell me what they think. They'll most likely say a lot of the hands are standard, especially with a VERY aggro history (as I prefaced at the top of the last blog).

As I said, I'll be moving down to NL$200 6max till the end of the year. I'm tired of the variance, and the players are much better at NL$400 than at NL$200. While I'm pretty sure I can beat the game, it's soooo much more stressful at that limit than NL$200. Also, I still have not worked out my C game getting closer to my A game, and therefore I will need to be much more careful about my mood when I play NL$400 than NL$200. I'll stop playing HU for a bit until I can stabilize at 6max.

AceCR9 can comment on my blog all he wants, but it won't escape the fact that he's a lonely loser. He's the ONLY CR "pro" to have not made a video yet...after how long, 1 year? He rolls over 88, I roll over the joint. Turn comes the 8d. He jumps up seeing he hit quads, but me and someone else quickly point out I have the straight flush. I actually got a pic taken of me at the game- Alex send that pick up on ur blog so I can save it on my comp and post it here!

So, the roll is @ $14.2k- I didn't say last night that I came home and won $3.1k at NL$400 6max, HU, and PLO because there were no interesting hands.

SOO happy yesterday is over! I finished registering for my classes; no class before 10:30 or later than 4:30- fuck yes.

Last night, as I said, I put my fraternity brother in the game. He ended up losing $500, and at one point, after bringing $2.2k to the game, I had $500 on the table and no money to my name. I fortunately, in the next 3.5-4 hrs, made it all back! So I ended actually +$63 at the game, but had to pay this cab driver $40 to take us from the Metro Center stop back to GMU campus. Hate life! I bet $85 into the two guys. The bb pops me up to $150 more to $235. Other caller folds, and I go into the tank and say to myself "he wouldn't raise that big with two pair, he wouldn't have waited this long to raise with a set, and he's repping 35. Fuck him I call." I called, and he goes ur good. Everyone goes "holy shit" when I roll over my hand, and see I bet/called with 2nd pair with worst kicker :)

Another hand went two limps, CO (HUUUGE nit barely EVER raises pf) raised to $18. Button smoothcalls, I call with KTcc, and the other players fold. Flop was QT6, two spades and one club. I check, CO nit bets $35 into the ~$62 pot. I think a bit and call. Turn comes the 2c, so now I have 2nd nut flush draw (and VERRRY disguised). I check, he fires out $75. I think a bit and call. River comes an offsuit Q. I check, he thinks for a LONG time, says "I put you on a missed draw," and bets $150. I'm like WTFFF????? Then I realized he was SOOO tight (he had limped behind a million limpers before with position with JJ and I think even QQ). So he's repping 4 hands here that vbet this river, because I think he's too nitty to vbet this river with AA or KK. He's repping AQ, QQ, and TT. He wouldn't raise KQ pf. So I tank and call, he gets REALLLYY pissed, I scoop the $650 pot, and he ends up calling me "the station." LOL live players.

This hand pissed me off...I was getting unstuck very well, and was maybe still down $300 total, before this hand happened with the same player as above (but this was a prior hand). There were like 5 limpers, I checked as the straddle with 66. Flop J96r (this was JUST after I won a big hand after making a big iso raise pf after like 6 limpers with AsTx, flop coming KT6 all spades, and getting it AI vs K6 and spiking gin on turn). Everyone checks to the same dude as the hand above and he fires out $10 into the ~18 pot. I c/r to $32. Everyone folds, he calls fairly quickly. Turn comes 2h, so there's a flush draw now on board. I fire out $100 (slight overbet) to make it seem like I'm semibluffing with like T8, QT, 78, or some sort of big Jack (or bluffing since I had been bluffing a LOT that night and been called down a bunch). He thinks a bit and calls. River comes 5x. I think a bit and overbet shove into the $292 pot for effectively ~$350-$400 to him. He thinks for a LONG while, goes "I don't know if I can fold this" and rolls over JJ. I'm like thinking to myself "WOW wtf he puts me SQUARELY on 78 wtf?" He finally calls, I show my 66, everyone crowds around for the $900 pot (biggest pot of night), and I get salty.

Overall, I'm obviously quite pleased with my sick comeback at a 1/3 game (the game played big, tho I was spewing huge early running into MONSTERS), and the game played quite big. Live pokahs is SOOO slow tho!

This weekend I'll have to finish off a philosophy paper that I got a solid start on earlier. The question to be answered is "do robots have minds, and if soft determinism is true, then they should be morally accountable for their actions." While this won't be for a while until this question is to be answered, since robots aren't that advanced, I still find it amusing. I took the side that robots will never be accountable for their actions, since computers understand things through formulas and programs, not through intuition. Also, we can't make something exactly human-like with true human emotion, since we as people will never 100% comprehend the human body or how to recreate it (except like maybe stem cell cloning or w/e but that's a diff topic). The point is that a robot will always have limitations and trouble understanding the intangible things due to their lack of intuition and lack of having a conscience or another inhibitor of its actions based on its moral principles.
