Okay, so, I swonged like HELL today. I was up about $150 consistently, but kept playing because I had a spewtard fish HU. Took a ton of sick coolers, but then I ran hot and started hitting well, though I srsly played like the best I could play almost the whole time. Tons of hh to give to yall

Here's a pic of my final stack vs the fish, though it was really $750 (I took the pic like 5 mins b4 the game ended. I ended +$460 on this guy though, not all $750 lol. Some SICK hands tho in a ridic aggro battle: here they are!

Early on hand...made me very bitter but I stuck it out...

This was an interesting hand...I cbet the flop and turn for value, and he c/r me out of nowhere. He COULD have JQ I guess, but never KQ, AQ, or QQ cuz he rr those pf. His hand looked like a combo draw, so I called. River comes a spade...he woulda c/r spades on the flop, so I called the river, since all the important turned draws missed (J9, K9, KJ, hearts, etc).

Roll is now $1750...won $500 today- will take a shot at Nl100 when I hit $2k roll. Solid play and bankroll management is finally comin together and yielding results :)

Solid Day

Today didn't start great; I had to sober up for 10 mins in the morning after throwing up to drive home. I played 21 games of beerpong last night in a row (three 7 game series), and me and my pledge brother CJ took on two other brothers and won- HOLLAAA. I was pretty sick today though, but fortunately feel better by now

BR is now just under $1200, so I'm pretty pleased with how I'm doing. Going to keep grinding NL$50 6max, as well as maybe some shortbuying NL$50 HU and PLO$100 6max and HU. Won $150 today; half from NL$50 6max, half from HU PLO. No real interesting hands though...

Sry for the text HH, but CR converter wouldn't work for it, and all the other converted hands eventually fuck up. I put him squarely on like J9, and it's very unlikely by the river he has the nut or 2nd nut flush in his range, and those are really the only hands he can pot the river with (even though he's psycho).

Let's Try this Again!

Blog by : IversonXX3

So, I deposited $600 the other day on FTP. My original plan was just to play NL$100 6max; it was just a temporary amount of money that I could play with. Then today I'm like..."eh, I might as well try to grind some," so I 4tabled PLO$50 minbuying with $10, and ended up making $90 (plus FTP released $20 of my deposit bonus). I'm still unsure whether I should just play NL$100 6max 4tabling, playing more solidly/picking my spots etc, or if I should move down to NL$25 6max. I don't wanna give up so much equity...but who knows; maybe I could move down a limit for every buyin I lose? The reason I don't feel like grinding NL$25 is the money is too insignificant, making the game boring, as well as I don't know if it's really worth my time, since I know it takes months to build a good roll. Argh, annoying...

Today, the ATM ate my $1450 deposit, but hopefully everything will be resolved on Monday or Tuesday (like the teller said it would). Just a random-ass thing to make my day weird. The steak after my weird trip to the ATM smoothed things over a big :)

GL to a friend/friend of a friend, Anthony Gregg aka Tony G from Columbia, MD; he's in the final 3 of the PCA...first gets $3m, 2nd gets $1.7m, and 3rd gets $1.1m- SICK. This guy 16-24 tables 2/4nl-5/10nl on Stars, logging massive amounts of hands. His new house is pretty badass too, and I'm sure this $ will help him furnish it insanely. It's funny because when the EPT camera people looked over at his friends section, I recognized a few ppl I knew as well, and even played with a bit. He's currently chiplead- I'm watching the EPT live stream.

GL to my friend Alex in Beloxi; he will attempt a $500 satty into the $5k PLO Championship tomorrow. He also ended up making $7.5k at the 10/25/25 PLO table in like an hour and a half lol- can't wait till I'm fucking 21 to play with live donks!

In the next week, things COULD potentially change drastically. I may get a few stakes into events at Turning Stone, and make a trip up there before school starts on the 20th. I'm not sure what the prize pools are, but I'm looking at one event thats $200 (which I would put myself in), but there's a $500, and MAYBE even a $1350 that I would want a stake in (I'd obv have to work something out and base it on how I've been playing in the smaller tournies before I think about it). I'd also be working on grinding the cash games, since apparently they're decently-lively during tournies. I may be stressed in the next few days though getting everything together, not just travel arrangements, but books for the upcoming classes, moving back into my dorm, and doing this stupid math placement test (which I think I'll fuck up) to get me into my Math 108 Business Calc class. Should be an amusing week to end winter break...and maybe I'll come back much richer!?!?!?!?

A New Year and Live Poker
Okay, so a few things. One, I didn't make get my $325 year-end Ironman bonus because I didn't qualify for Ironman at all in December...I was downswonging and didn't feel like playing. Too bad I didn't fucking know that I had to qualify for Ironman in December in order to achieve my bonus...!
So, I show up at the game 30 mins early (So I guess it took me an hour to get there...I started driving at 6:30, so there was lots of traffic). My friend Alex's game is like HALF the distance from my house it was before in its new location, and it's pretty sweet. Security guards/cameras, full bar, legit food...though I requested a Corona with lime and was not given it L They were so fully-staffed- it was sick!
So, onto the game. I bought in for $500, it was a 1/3 (with a semi-occasional $6 straddle), and avg stack on table was $300-$400 to start. I ended up stacking someone the FIRST hand when I open 57cc to $15 (standard raise at this game), get one coldcaller from a woman in MP. Flop is AQ3, all clubs. I cbet $20 into the $33, she raises to $40, I 3bet to $70, she calls. I'm a little worried, because she looked like a nit, but I stuck her in for her last $130 or so on the blank turn, she rolls over AQ, river bricks, I scoop the $400 pot...sweet start!
I stacked someone the very next hand but I forgot exactly how- stack already at $900!
One hand theres a limp from this straightforward Indian dude, raise to like $20, two calls, I call with 77 from the bb, and Indian limper calls from UTG. Flop is like K42r. Check around...turn is an 8, bringing two clubs on the board. I think my hand is good, so I donk out for ~$40 into the $65. UTG thinks a bit and calls, and everyone folds. River is an offsuit 7. I check, he bets $75, and since I figured that this looked like a two pair/Kx valuebet, since he'd have to bet bigger with the straight, I c/r him to $200. He tanks and is like "did I like you get there?" and calls, tabling 88. He jumps out of his seat and goes "Yes!" He later apologized to me, but I didn't care.
Later on, this old Asian dude, whos really agro from LP, raised to $20 after a limper, and got one caller from the CO. Button folds, and I make it $100 in the sb with A9dd (because he LOVED to call reraises...my hand played well postflop vs his very loose calling range- stacks were ~$600 because I had dwindled down some from $1000 after some gay beats like 77 to 88 etc). Flop AK3, one diamond. I check, he checks. Turn is a 9, making two clubs on board. I think a bit and bet $100 into the ~$240 pot, he thinks a bit and calls. River is an offsuit 4, and I think about 5 seconds before shipping. I contemplated whether to go for the c/rai, thinking if he was more likely to have JT/club draw or something that missed the river or a hand that could call a shove...and I leaned towards him not having a draw. He TANNNKS for like 4 mins and finally calls, mucking his hand but showing an ace (no way he had a better ace because he's a fish).
So, I have ~$1100 or so, and there's a $6 straddle in play. I open UTG+1 with AA (I think with the Ah) to $24, MP cc, and I get another two callers (YES action at this game...!). Flop is K82, two hearts. First two players check, I bet $60 into the ~$85, MP (fairly straight-forward Indian who's decent with $600 from the 77 to 88 hand) minraises me...folds around and I think a bit and call. I'm worried about a set, but I'm obv not folding. Turn comes an offsuit 7. I check, he bets $175; based on his bet-sizing and timing, I knew he didn't have a set, so I c/rai on him for $225 more- he thinks a bit and calls, river is an offsuit J, and he mucks what he said was Kx, saying he put me on an FD. GG him
One interesting hand that happened before all this was I had ~$700, that Indian guy limped UTG for ~$800 (this was after that 77 to 88 hand, so he was feeling cocky), and Button limped (decent Arab dude that didn't get out of line much at all and was very straightforward). I look down at JJ in the BB and bump it to $20 more, and they both call (wtf?). Flop is 99T, two diamonds. I cbet $40 and get raised to $90 by the Indian guy (wtf?)...and Arab guy instaships all in for $300. I tank and fold the JJ (and I had the Jd), and Indian guy goes "well I can't call now...I had 77" and folds, and the Arab guy eventually says he had Tx with a draw...wtf? This isn't PLO...the way I saw it was that I had to be right SUCH a large percentage of the time, because it's possible (though unlikely) that the Indian guy has 9x, and the Arab guy ships over a raise AND a reraise. Even though I have a loose image, and he's probably never giving the Indian guy credit for 9x, I still put him on 9x or a gooood draw. I figured my equity in the pot wasn't good enough to call another $300 for the Arab dude's all-in...plus the Indian guy could reshove and make my life HELL. Yes, I had a blocker to the straight and a decent diamond for backdoor equity, but it was such a weird spot...I was thinking about c/c or c/r the flop, but I decided a lead would get more value from my hand than trying to induce these fairly tight players to bluff or something.
I ended up walking away from the game 6 hours later exactly, winning exactly $1600...pretty sick for a 1/3 game! I will hopefully play more live soon- and apparently it will be bumped up to a 2/5 game soon.
I'm a little frustrated because my debit card was frozen because it wouldn't work at a gas station, so I went to another right away, and another etc, and apparently gas is something FREQUENTLY purchased with stolen credit/debit cards, but I fortunately worked out everything on the phone today. Due to the debit card being stolen, I was not able to renew my CR membership! So this blog is probably coming a little late... (Writing it on Friday, January 3rd)
So, I will yet you all know what I'll do with the online money, but I'll keep playing live games when I can (though the rule is poker never takes precedent over social life). Tonight, I had nothing really beast to do (besides a shitty party I coulda gone to), so I thought it'd be a legit night to relieve my itch for live action. I have a lot more confidence in my game- I think I don't give online players enough credit, but I play amazing live (imo haha...the game isn't particularly hard).
So what r the goals for '09? Well, '08 was a pretty successful year, though very unsteady. The tilt problems that had disappeared had slowly came back...or not tilt, but not playing my A game and not managing losses correctly. I improved a lot as a player in '08, but unfortunately the personal management skills still were lacking.
In '09 I hope to play more live, regrind my online roll eventually and just grind NL$200 6max and maybe NL$400 6max, as well as NL$100 and NL$200 HU. I will use better game selection (though I've game selected for a while decently), and I will work on paying attention to my PT.
I watched a groundbreaking thing from DogIsHead from DeucesCracked, talking about balancing your ranges. I think I've become too robotic, so I'm going to try to vary my play some. I thought before it was better to have your ranges polarized, but now apparently it's best to balance them. What I will do is try to polarize my ranges in certain spots but keep them balanced a majority of the time. I will also work on not giving off any internet timing tells.
I'm sorry I don't have a ridiculously-groundbreaking year-end post! '08 was more about fun and life changes while transition from being a senior in high school to a college freshman, striving to be an active member of my fraternity. '09 will be about separating poker from life, and seeing the overall big picture. As far as live goes, I played ENTIRELY PERFECT tonight (except for one hand...I'll show that below this paragraph). I drank one red-bull, had no candy, and had some bomb-ass beef with broccoli from my friend Alex's (host of the game) Chinese restaurant. I had a great rhythm tonight, and I think I raised the perfect frequency to get me good action but not get reraised a ton or shit. I didn't have any brainfarts or try any elaborate bluffs.
The hand in question that I misplayed:
Hijack limps (fishy player that's deep), old asian guy that played vs my A9dd that hand raises to $20 (this is before the a9dd hand though), Button calls, SB calls, and I pop it to $100 with ATo from the BB. I figured out he was aggo by now and opening a lot of hands. Hijack limper folds, Asian guy thinks a bit and calls, others fold. Flop is Q56r. I bet $85, he calls. This is my first squeeze, so I figured a flop bet should get a LOT of respect. Turn is a 9, bringing a flush draw...I check, and he checks. I figure he can certainly have made two pair with the 9, or adding more outs to his 57,58, 6, 68, or even a random float would make him not fold the turn. The river is an offsuit six, I check, and he fires $150. I tank, show my hand face-up, say "well, you would have bet the turn with a Qx or better, so you either have a 6 or nothing." He wouldn't vbet the river with any random hand with showdown value, like 9x, and he's capable of floating the flop randomly and checking behind the turn for a free card, so I called, and he tables 62ss (nh sir). Everyone berated me, especially that Indian guy, but I busted him on that hand where I had AA J
So, tonight was a successful night and a confidence booster, and I'm very pleased to start out '09 like this! '09 will not be a groundbreaking poker year, at least I don't predict, as I'll be working on getting my grades up and fraternity stuff; however, I plan to really select when I play online, play within my online roll, and REALLY hone in on every play I make and why I make it, not go off for a big number in a session, and analyze my play after a session with PT (or sending ppl hh). I hope to get back to NL$200, or at least play online occasionally if my friend loans me money and I'll cover my losses (if I decided not to try to grind up my $500). If I can truly consider poker a legitimate job, and separate it from all other aspects of life, expect big things from me. Who knows...maybe I'll even try to move up to as high as 5/10nl (unlikely because I most likely won't be able to handle huge $ swings without it taking over my life), or possibly even winning a seat to a live tourney :)

Above was my old blog post I made on the 3rd...I had to renew my CR subscription, and I was too lazy to get around to it, so that's y the post is coming late.

I played another live game session, where I was in a juicy game and up about $1k in like 2 hrs. Here are the two hands that screwed me over:

Like 4 limpers, so I iso-raise to $30 with AJo (this 1/3 game plays big, but there was most likely a straddle to $6 on, though I'm not 100% sure). Everyone folds, and like the 2nd limper (UTG+2) says reraise to $100 (psycho overaggro middle-aged asian guy). I think a little bit and shove for $350 effectively or so. He goes "I know you have Ace King I call" and rolls over 33. Flop is 664, turn K, river 2. Woot woot, I brick vs a fish. I say to the guy next to me "I'm gonna bust him."

My friend Alex, who got me into the game, stands right behind me 10 mins later. With him standing behind me, I get AA. After a straddle to $6, I open Button to $24 ($1.2k stack). That dumb fat bastard that won with the 33 before reraises to $75 out of the BB ($1.1k stack). I actually put him on a really strong hand, and though about getting it in preflop, but realized he'd prob just spew it off/bluff it to me postflop. Flop is 662, two hearts; he fires $100...I think a bit and call. Turn is an offsuit Q; at no point in the hand did I put him on QQ. Id say his most likely holdings to me were TT, JJ, AQ, and AK. He bets $100, I raise to $250, he calls. River is an offsuit K, and he open ships for ~$600. I call pretty quickly and he THROWS down KK emphatically and yells "I KNEW IT BABY!" I wanted to end his family's life while he watched right there...everyone is like "sooo sickk" lol. That piece of shit kept saying how he knew that I had AA and that he was folding if the river wasn't a K, which is total bs, cuz he's a massive calling station (I didn't know this until the AJ to 33 hand, when I noticed he played like a goon).

I ended up losing $100 in that game, so I'm still up $1500 at that live game, and I may even go back tonight if there's nothing doing with my friends.

I plan on just getting money on the finger from friends and playing NL$100 or NL$200 6max 4tabling whenever I'm feeling my best, and I know I'll eventually win in the long run. I'm still running badly, and eventually managed to bust my roll. This monitor from FTP was prob part of the doomswitch.

I'm going to definitely gear my game to more live than online, just until I can get a roll of like $2k+ online to play NL$100 or higher. I don't feel like depositing, and I don't feel like playing lower, since I just can't care enough and it's a waste of time. I could be playing live instead of online at NL$25/NL$50, and I feel that I'm giving up too much equity by not playing higher. I'm srsly like the biggest deposit-nit ever.

Winter break's been a lot of fun though, and I hope to get in a few more live sessions, a few more nights of drinking, etc, and I'll be happy. I'm actually looking forward to school starting up because I'm looking forward to seeing all my brothers/pledge brothers, as well as raising my shit grades.

Overall, 2008 was a decent success, and I got a ton better as a player, but 2007 was more successful. In 2008, I tried my hardest to fix the problems I had before, and I did a pretty good job for a decent bit of the time, but a decent bit of the time doesn't cut it; I need to play responsibly 100% of the time.

Argh

Okay, so, I kept playing HU sngs but running like shit. I went to my friend Sam's today, and asked him if I could 4-6 table NL$200 on his account, and I'd cover my losses. I ended up winning $450 after about an hour and a half, which was a nice confidence booster. When I get back to my home laptop to grind NL$50 for a bit with my $720, I end up losing 2.5 BI, then end up losing the next session I play when I was just shortstacking juicy NL$100 tables. For example, I remember losing KK to K9o aipf, AJ to 33 because 33 called a reraise preflop and flopped a set, my AT on a flop of JTT turn 8 vs Q9, and just dumb hands like that CONSTANTLY happening. It's just a neverending streak of annoyance where I can't have 2 winnings days in my fucking life. W/e, things will change soon. I may keep doing this with my friend, as well as going to live games, and taking a slight break from online MSNL.

Verneer, I lik eyour question about the skills set of a NL$100 reg vs a NL$400 reg...I'll actually explain the skill set diff between a NL$100 reg and a NL$200 reg, and a NL$200 reg vs a NL$400 reg:

NL$100 and NL$200 skill set difference: They're not a ton different, but I remember this was a big and difficult jump for me back in the day. The main thng is that NL$200 players will often not c/r bluff obvious flops (like 882r, J42r, etc flops) unless they have it. They're more likely to c/r very drawy flops where they can rep a multitude of hands on later streets as a bluff. They're also capable of merging their range and shoving over valuebets if the board is scary. They are pretty much more aware of what they're representing. They're more capable of making 4bet bluffs, resqueezing preflop, floating in better spots, and playing more pot control. They're also better hand readers, and can fold overpairs, as well as go wth shoves that are thinner than what one is capable of making at NL$100. Ppl are more fearless and more aggressive than at NL$200, and start getting fancy (maybe a little too fancy for their own good), but overall play decently straight-forward.

The main difference between NL$200 and NL$400 is the aggression. People at NL$400 are often fearless, and it's all about putting in the last bet (at least preflop). There is constant 3betting and 4betting. I've noticed that at NL$200, people often 3bet preflop without a plan, while at NL$400, if you get 3bet preflop and you shove, the person often either quickly folds or quickly calls, because it was planned out in their head. Their preflop 4betting ranges are also polizared...or at least should be. At NL$400, people are also very capable of telling when they're tilted/playing bad (my obv weakness), and also pay attention to when others are not playing their best. They play a lot based on flow and dynamic- if someone is getting frustrated, people will go out of their way to play pots with that person, because that person will eventually spew off their chips out of frustration. A lot of NL$400 regs will also game select, which often many NL$200 regs don't do. I'd probably say that most NL$200 regs do not analyze their hands in PT and surround themselves with a strong group of poker players as friends; instead, they let their ego take over and assume they can single-handedly destroy bigger games because they're winning at the moment. However, NL$400 regs often do things like post on 2+2, constantly watch vids, and often talk to others that also play at midstakes about questionable hands that they played. A lot of NL$400 players are also capable of making CIB-type plays (click it back...making a tiny raise or reraise) as both a bluff or with the nuts. They do it with hands occasionally like AQ on a random Axx flop in order to induce. This happens occasionally at NL$200, but NL$400 players often are capable of putting you to the test with the minimal amount of chips needed (ever wonder why the most successful 4bets are something like $105 to a $48 3bet)? They often give off the illusion that they are playing looser or crazier than they really are- NL$400 regs are often good at disguising their ranges and playing style until you have many hands on them.

Let me know what you all think, but I personally think that those are the skill sets of the different limits.

MarkWalhberg, btw, I'm too lazy to check my HEM, but I'm pretty sure we've only had a few hands together, and I don't believe we've played any big pots. Sn is a secret hehe.

Okay, so hopefully during this break I can do some more NL$200 6max hands at my friends; that way, I can really pick out when I'm feeling best so I can play as optimally as I can...plus when a person is behind me it is quite helpful. I'm planning on going to a live game next weekend too, or possibly even Wednesday. If one is playing live, it's not only easier, but it's much easier to step away from the table, and having a finite amount of actual paper money instead of virtual money makes it much easier to have managable losses. I'm ready to get into teh pokerrrz! Tonight I plan on getting disgustingly drunk for my friend's bday though... :)

Slight Change of Plans

Blog by : IversonXX3
0

I've ran badly the past 3 days at NL$25 to dumb fish, having a few -2BI sessions, so I decided to take my $225 and grind the $10+1 HU sngs (mainly turbos). These things are fucking CAKE. I forgot that micro HU players make so many mistakes. I managed to win like 8/9 of those today, so I now have $300. I'm expecting like $80 in rakeback and $325 from FTP as the end of the year Ironman bonus, so I'm looking at $700. I don't know if I really feel like playing NL$25 6max or if I'd rather grind $20-$30 SNGs until I get back to $1k for trying NL$50.

The past few days I had strongly considered redepositing, but hopefully for the next few weeks I can run well and put a decent roll together. I really wanna get back into poker, since I feel like sitting on a bunch of money, though I have plenty, is like being on a fixed budget. I didn't want to "retire" from the game, hehe. While it's certainly frustrating to look back and see I had like a $10k roll online like a month or two ago, I shouldn't have been playing 2/4, especially HU, with that kind of online roll, and if I did, I shouldn't have at least went off for as much as I did.

Don't know if I mentioned this, but I bought Holdem Manager from CR for $45. I had PT2 for the longest time before I got a new comp and was too lazy to email the PT support, so I was really considering buying PT3, since I had really liked PT2. I didn't do so much hand reviewing, but I did enjoy looking at my overall winrate over a numbe rof hands, my VPIP/PFR/AF, as well as my overall winnings and making a graph of it. PT3 was meh...I thought it was clunky and not much of an improvement from PT2, but I think HEM wouldn't accept credit card, but rather just Paypal (which I didn't have) or like UB transfers or something, so I didn't consider getting it. I'm very pleased CR dropped the price drastically and made it available to pay through credit card! I don't think I'll look through HEM for $10 SNGs, but I will start looking over hands when I go back to NL cash games or $20+ SNGs. One thing a lot of players do that I never really did was look through hands in my database. Though I did post tons of hands in blog and accept comments and all, I realized that I did more defending of how I played than trying to scrutinize myself. I should always be trying to look for errors when I play.

Anyways, New Years is comin up! Only New Years resolutions are get back to the gym (I'll do that) and grind up through limits until I'm grinding NL$200 or so again while being fully aware of my quality of play and being able to quit (I'll work on this...but it'll be hard hehe). If I do feel motivated enough to constantly analyze my game (if I have enough free time for school and social shit otherwise), then I may attempt to get a coach if I desire to move to 2/4+, constantly look over/discuss HH with others, etc, to try to hopefully get to 5/10 or something next year. As far as skill, I know I'm about at 2/4, and since 2/4-5/10 have a very similar player pool, I'd say having the pure skill as a 5/10 regular isn't too far-fetched. I used to be a 2/4 reg for a while, so I know how aggro the games are. However, I'm unfortunately a far ways away from having the grinding mentality or stability as a 5/10 regular :-( The main focuses are knowing when to quit, game selection, and swallowing my pride by being ready to move down if I'm downswinging. I'm ready to turn things around in '09. It's gonna take a lot of work, since many ppl at 2/4+ regularly work on their game and put in a lot of hands to stay at that level, so I should expect I need to do the same.

No other interesting hands; pretty standard day today. I only lost one big pot where I was 37/63 underdog where I was forced to bet/call in a reraised pot with AQ to 33 on 245r flop, getting like 4:1 after he shoved.

Very pleased with today, and I'll definitely do my best to keep up the grind, and also hopefully grind out bonuses. I've learned that if you're really focused on grinding, playing much below your normal limit isn't so bad, since you forget how much money you're playing for. Probably a good mentality for me to adopt when I get back to 2/4+.

I've also been watching more CR, DC, and LP vids, and trying to pay more attention to them.

Saw Slumdog Millionaire today with the family- it was pretty sweet. About a poor Indian kid that gets on the Indian version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire, gets to the final question, and is accused of cheating and sent to the police for interrogation.

Life's pretty good, and I'll have to keep up the grind and keep having fun. It'll prob be a 2-3 month long grind to get back to NL$200 6max+ playing in my roll and making sure my personal management issues are minimized. I really have no excuse for not being at 2/4+ other than losing too much on certain days that fucks me over later. ONE day I'll fix that...hopefully it's soon! I'm ready to do my time to elevate my poker game again.

Beach Week Pics...

Blog by : IversonXX3
0

Wow these pics are 6 months old but I forgot to post them hehe...I unfortunately may never get ahold of like the other 100 pics of beach week I have because my friends will be too lazy to find them.

The living room of our house

It was sweet being drunk for breakfast lol. Scott on the right, Taylor in middle, Sean on left. I think it's safe to say everyone looks gay when they're drunk hah

Me and 3 others killed the 151 after the first night... to my discomfort that night and the next morning.

Me and scott on the left, and Kallan on the right- all smacked from some solid headys.

After a fun night of beerpong

Our beerpong setup

Kallan on the left, Lauren in the middle, Scott belligerent on the right. Lauren was one of the four girls that stayed in our house. A lot of the girlfriends were not allowed to come to beach week...we would go to the beach to "recruit" others who wanted to party with us lol. Good times

On a side note, have been losing a few more BI every fucking session I play. It's so sick how like I barely EVER play an all-in pot, but I just keep getting chopped away at with random coolers for like 30bb at a time. ARRRGH I hate teh no limit pokerz. I'm looking forward to my end of the year money from FTP and the miniscule amount of rakeback from this month to help me out!

BTW, here's a pic of my roomate that looks like CTS:

But he doesn't play poker, so he's not an evil CTS clone.

I just came upon the pics and felt I had to post them...bring back good memories. I'm looking forward to the next trip- possibly Mexico during spring break? This winter break I've just been chilling with friends during day, playing video games (especially guitar hero), a little poker here and there, then partying with them at night. The mornings are definitely the worst part of the break...

I hope to have some sweet New Years pics to put up as well! I sure as fuck am not bringing my camera, since it will prob end up lost/broken/stolen, though. I'm either going to a friend of a friend's party nearby or down to JMU (James Madison University) to a different friend of a friend's party; most likely to the nearby one.

WOW I won a Sesh...?

Blog by : IversonXX3
0

Well...sorta. I got my $436 in rb back, lost $100 last night in an MTT, and decided to attempt to 4table grind NL$25 with this measly $300 or so because I don't feel like depositing. I may get another $3k from my friend if I REALLLLY feel like it, but i think I wanna push myself to grind this shit. I played today and managed to win $10, putting the bankroll at a whopping $346 woot woooot!! Haha this amuses me. I remember I grinded $300 in rb up to $20k in like a month and a half in October- such a nasttty heater. I wish I still ran like that.

I was inspired because I just received my brand new Samsung 24 inch 1080p HD monitor from FTP! It's the SyncMaster 2443 BWX...its really sweet. I'm shocked at what a difference the size of monitor makes to my eyes (both the comfort and the visual "wow" factor).

On a side note, will fortunately get to go back to the gym for the next month while at home, and got EXACTLY a 2.0 when all the grades came in, meaning I'm not going to be initiated for the fraternity yet, but I'm not totally fucked yet either. I expect to get a 2.8-3.2 next semester, tbh. My classes are:

Math 108 (business calc)
Spanish 106 (I used to be REALLLY good at spanish)
Comm 101
Some computer visual art class, since we're required to take an art class, and fuck drawing/painting etc

Three days ago, some fraternity brothers called me at 1030 a.m. and asked me if I wanted to roadtrip to NY with them. I obliged, ended up going, and sorta BS'ed the story to my parents when they called so that they never knew I was in NY hehe. We did fairly tourist-like things, saw Times Square, ate at good places, and did some drinking. We only had two nights to see such a big city, so we couldn't do a ton, but it was still fun.

And Happy Chanukah bitcchhesss. I actually told my parents no clothes, giftcards, or money, so this should be amusing to see what they get me.

So I'm going to try to grind this $346 up to a beast roll. I looked at my bonus status, and apparently I get $350 free as my end-of-year bonus. I'mma try to take this $700 and turn it into like $3.5k in a month. I actually feel motivated to grind with this monitor...srsly. I don't know wtf it is- it's possibly the change of scenery because I'm not used to playing on a big screen? I know whenever I switch poker sites, I actually am motivated to do well grinding because I feel rejuvenated looking at something new. I've grinded up small rolls before when I put my mind to it...so here it goes!

On a side note, have unfortunately been spending money like crazy, so now would be a beast time to grind a good roll and start earning money at poker again. Fortunately, I have a very good amount of money in the bank, and essentially have no mandatory living expenses, so my plan was to essentially live off this money for the next 3.5 years, then pay for/furning an apartment for like 6 months or so after I get out of school and get a job. I realized that I do miss poker and the competition, as well as I feel like a bum sitting on a bunch of money but not actually "working" while a lot of my friends grind out like $7/hr lol. I've ran badly, but I've also been irresponsible, and I realize that if I get even more financially-stable now, it will pay off ridiculously down the line.

BTW, blog counters being reset is BS!!!

Here's a gay hand from today that took away a lot of my profits :-(

His flop semi-donk bet (wasn't first to act but he bet OOP into the PFR) seemed a little week on this kind of flop texture, so I c/r. He thought a bit and called. His range is certainly a 6, but I was thinking something like JT-JK or some type of mid pp. Turn gave me a sweeeeet draw, so I decided to barrel again, since we had good stacks to bet and not have to comitt myself, and he couldn't just randomly shove a J...he would need 6x+. After he thought and coldcalled the turn, it was obv he had a 6. I ginned the river (so I thought) and shoved...but he rivered a full house- fuuuck! Ah well, next time...that was like the only bluff I ran the whole session lol. I'm still not running well, but I can see myself doing well if I stick my mind to things. NL$25 isn't cake anymore, but it isn't exactly impossible either. I miss the old days on Stars/Party though, where NL$25 was like play moniez, and even 1/2 was like ridiculously-filled with donks. 2/4 was also EASILY beatable, while now it's pretty hard, since it shares the same player pool often with players that play up to 5/10 or even 10/20.
