An Even LONGER hiatus...

Blog by : IversonXX3

So, ended up going to my first live game in so long because nothing else was going on (a lot of ppl from school were going back home for Easter). I drive my 45 mins to the live game and was itching for live action. Bought in $300 to start, and ended up like SECOND hand getting AQ. UTG+1 raised, UTG+2 cc'ed (UTG+1 is a girl who's pretty decent but very straightforward player) and no reads on UTG+2. I cc with AQ from the hijack and everyone else folds. Flop is QJx, with two clubs. UTG+2 fires $50 into the ~$63 pot, I raise to $165 (don't have the Ac), and UTG+1 girl ships while UTG+2 folds. Considering i basically potfucked myself, I tank and tank and call. She has QQ...I turn the A (oohs and ahhs) and river blank. Yippee! If I cc'ed the flop, I woulda turned the Ace anyway, so I prob woulda went broke with my stack with top two on a drawy board, so not much coulda changed. I GUESS I coulda folded pre...but that IMO is weak. I reload for $300.

The other big hand I was up to $400 (but still stuck $200 overall) and I straddle to $6 and UTG+1 restraddles to $17. Folds around to button who raises to $45...decent middle age guy whos actually pretty nice and was joking the whole time w/ me. Anyway, I look down at KK from the original straddle and think...this guy is pretty straightforward, so I put him on a good hand...most likely JJ or QQ. I reraise to $120. 2nd straddle folds, and button thinks a bit and shoves. I snapcall, he has AA. Flop is QJx, turn A, riv blank. Cool...$600 pot KK to AA in a double-straddled pot vs a button open...YES!

I ended up having like $150 left after that hand, rebought my last $100, and just ended up running into case hands while playing tight. So fuck my life, whenever I need to run well, it never happens.

I cannot play any more poker (of any kind) until my parents fucking pay me some money back. I need to save up as much money for summer as possible (mainly for alcohol or travelling).

In regards to a comment from last blog " Wow haha, seriously. Getting your money in BAD isn't running bad. These aren't coolers.

I actually typed out a massive post thinking this was 6-max. I suppose it's slightly different because it's HU. But this is no example of running bad, you just got your money in bad because you can't put your opponent on decent pre flop ranges."

This is literally retarded to think that. "slightly diff than HU?" Um no...HU is drastically different. This IS an example of running bad. Folding TT alone preflop in HU to someone that is tight is weakish and exploitable, but to a crazy maniac who I've been playing with forever is just plain criminal. To say I can't put opponents on decent preflop ranges is so fucking retarded. You're just a fuck who has no idea how to play HU. And in regards to the QQ...lol...if you ever fold QQ preflop HU basically u should quit poker and go hang urself. Getting TT to JJ preflop and QQ to AA preflop heads up vs a psycho with a lot of history between us this match are both total coolers.

SOOOO one day I'll get paid back by parents for college and be able to regrind. I miss poker kind of, but then again, I don't. Schools stressful enough, and as long as I've been just focusing on fun when I don't have school shit, I've been doing pretty well. I guess I might as well consider not playing poker just a vacation (because it's technically a break from my job).

THIS IS GETTING REALLY FUCKING OLD

Blog by : IversonXX3

Deposited $600 because I felt like playing. End up losing like $125 really fast just running like fuck (I SWEAR I CAN'T BEAT THESE RETARDED .10/.25 6Max games if I can't fucking win a fucking all in).

Anyway, decided to buy in $20 at a few NL$50 HU tables. End up ocming back to be up like $150. Keep playing this guy who has literally spewed like $300 to me. And then I just run into COOLER AFTER FUCKING COOLER.

HANDS:

This guy was just a fucking psycho then just started holding the motherfucking deck on coolers vs me...here are some nice pots with overpairs!

Seat 1: Hero ($99.50 in chips) -
Seat 2: Villain 1 ($112.85 in chips) - -
PRE-FLOP:
Villain 1 posts small blind $0.25
Hero posts BIG blind $0.50
Dealt To: Hero
RAISE Villain 1 ($1)
RAISE Hero ($3.50)
RAISE Villain 1 ($10.50)
CALL Hero ($7) (Pot Odds: 2.00)
FLOP:
Pot: $21
CHECK Hero
BET Villain 1 ($21)
RAISE Hero ($89) - All in
CALL Villain 1 ($68)
TURN:
Pot: $199
RIVER:
Pot: $199
SHOWDOWN:
Hero:
Villain 1:
Villain 1 collected $198.5 from main pot with a pair of Jacks
SUMMARY:
Total pot: $199
Rake: $0.50
Final Board:
Seat 1: Hero big blind showed [Tc Ts] and lost with a pair of Tens - Net Gain/Loss: ($ -99.50)
Seat 2: Villain 1 small blind showed [Jh Jc] and won 198.50 with a pair of Jacks - Net Gain/Loss: ($ 98.75)

Seat 1: Hero ($144 in chips) - -
Seat 2: Villain 1 ($118.15 in chips) -
PRE-FLOP:
Hero posts small blind $0.25
Villain 1 posts big blind $0.50
Dealt To: Hero
RAISE Hero ($1.25)
RAISE Villain 1 ($5.25)
RAISE Hero ($14)
RAISE Villain 1 ($39)
CALL Hero ($25) (Pot Odds: 2.12)
FLOP:
Pot: $78
BET Villain 1 ($44)
RAISE Hero ($105) - All in
CALL Villain 1 ($35.15) - All in
UNCALLED Hero ($25.85)
TURN:
Pot: $236.3
RIVER:
Pot: $236.3
SHOWDOWN:
Hero:
Villain 1:
Villain 1 collected $235.8 from main pot with a pair of Aces
SUMMARY:
Total pot: $236
Rake: $0.50
Final Board:
Seat 1: Hero small blind showed [Qh Qd] and lost with a pair of Queens - Net Gain/Loss: ($ -118.40)
Seat 2: Villain 1 big blind showed [Ah Ac] and won 235.80 with a pair of Aces - Net Gain/Loss: ($ 117.15)

So YAYYYY I have $400 left. Going to try to grind the NL$25 6max games with $20. This is seriously getting retarded how fucking horribly I'm running (especially in these ridic pots). I GUESS I should quit when I'm up and have a lot of money on the table when not rolled, but at the same time, I feel like I'm losing so much equity when everything is going my way and some dude's tilting against all of my momentum... Going to only play 6 max and no HU (unless its maybe a $10-$20 HU SNG). But I'm quite frustrated...

Unfortunately, a bunch of hw to do this week...but happy St Pattys Day to all! Roll is now $660 from $140 in free rakeback moniez from last night at 1am...so like nearly 5x'ing my roll in less than 24 hours (prob total like 4 hours of playing) with good roll management is pretty fucking good (and helps to run hot) haha.

Where Has Iverson Been??

Blog by : IversonXX3
0

Been busy with school, fraternity, and fun. Fuck poker...still not responsible lol. I'll see if I can run my $150 roll that I received today from rakeback from last month up...if I did it with $300 to $20k with good roll management way back when, i can do it now!! Just gotta fucking not move up and say "fuck it." Will it happen? Prob not. But we'll see if I can get some discipline.

I just got back from Cancun with two of my good friends from high school for spring break- it was a lot of fun. First few nights we didn't do nething but drink in the hotel and go to the pool while enjoying surroundings. We realized clubs were apparently where its at, so we ended up goin to Dady-O, Basic, Senor Frogs (for my bday), and The City. Dady-O is a bit small but pretty decent, Basic is a little bigger but much more crowded (but good energy). Senor Frogs was the total shit- best club in Cancun! Great energy and good amount of ppl, not overwhelming guy:girl ratio, and some crazy contests...plus you don't have to wait long at ALL to get a drink at the bars! The City is retardedly overpacked, tho pretty cool, and I would never go back. I saw Ludacris, and tho I thought it was pretty sweet, the constant amount of guys dicks and ass rubbing up against me accidentally because it was SO crowded discouraged me greatly.

I will provide pics fairly soon...too lazy now. Just wanted to let you all know what I had been up to lately. Maybe I'll buckle down and grind for a change at bitch limits.

FYI, if I lose this, I cannot really play until this coming November (with basically $20k tied up in using $ to pay for my college until my college fund matures) unless someone stakes me or w/e. I will offer good deals and will negotiate happily if someone offers. Otherwise, its np- I'll be very motivated to play with a roll, but if I don't have a big roll, I can't say that I will be too discouraged if I don't get to play, simply because I don't have too much I need money for fortunately.

****Just turned my $150 into $275 after an hour of running well shortbuying and 6tabling 6max PLO$25 buying in with $5...awesomeee. I'll keep this up with $5 and see what it do. The major difference between this session and others is that I didn't reraise preflop unless I had big coordinated pairs or very coordinated rundowns...no more reraising as an isolation play with junk (unlike in nlhe)! This play has probably killed me for a fuckload. Also, just tightening up pre. You can still be aggro, but limping behind isn't horrible, checking behind a few flops isn't horrible, and neither is avoiding to fish out hands where the odds vs your equity vs his range is close (to reduce variance).

I've been DUUUURRRREEED

Blog by : IversonXX3

I've been DURRRRR challenged by CR member gses75. He's unknown to me, but he challenged me at 2 tables of HU $50 NLHE. I will accept...however, how much sidebet money did you want to put up? We need to escrow the money- now I think I've established myself as a person with an honorable repution that is credible (Tho can monkey tilt :) ). CR member DaGrinder is a trustworthy guy to escrow, as well as Burdamania, as well as ECU (not sure of the numbers after his name but he's a dirty 2/4 reg), as well as possily even escrowing it to Ezra or something.

Let me know hwo much the $ amount is and I'll post it up next blog.

BTW fuck 50k hands...let's decide on a smaller amount. I really don't play more than an hour a day, and don't even necessarily play every day. I don't want teh nl pokerz to take over my life!

Ended up beating the psycho guy HU for like ~$125 after being stuck like $100 to him after he ran SOOO HOTT.

I ended up winning ~$80 vs one guy at PLO$100 HU (started with $40 and worked it up to $160 but rebought a bit), as well as being in ~$70 at one 6max PLO$100 table but turning it into $400...yayyy, but lost ~$40 to one crazy lucksack at another NL$50HU table.

Roll is at $1368...up from literally $330 to start the day...+$1338 after a day of mainly under 1/2 in PLO or NLHE and $50 HU sngs hahaha (except one 2/4 HU PLO table where I beat the guy for like $300). YESSSS holla.

So I guess I just need to be responsible and play only a few tables at a time. If I play any more than 3 or 4 tables of PLO, ESPECIALLY with other shit happenin at the same time, I'm TOTALLY FUCKED! GL me gogogogo. $2k is lookin definitely reachable by the end of the month- knock on wood. Just got to STAY FUCKING FOCUSED AND DON'T TILT/BE RESPONSIBLE! Also 4 tables only, as well as total focus...and don't go off for a huge number.

So I ended up with $300 in my roll...and I'm like "fuck this I'm not grinding NL$25 with like $15 because I've just ran so badly there anyway which is a joke." So I ended up 'carefully' shorstacking NL$400 HU with $80 vs a random unknown who seemed like an okay reg, then shorstacking two PLO$200 tables and one PLO$100 6max table. I ended up crushing the 2/4 reg for like $300 (from an $80 buyin), but lost a bit at the other 3 tables, so I ended up firing up a HU $50+2.50 NLHE turbo SNG and a PLO$200 HU table that I started with vs a random reg who seemed decent for $40. I ended up taking the reg for ~$150, as well as taking the guy at the HU sngs for a little under $200 (because we played a bunch of matches so the rake was probably like $15-20 total). I ended up turning the $300 roll into like exactly $900...amusing!

I reallly have to grind, but if I keep running badly at NL$25, this same thing may happen frequently lol. I guess I play well when I 4table and focus, so I might as well never play more than 4 tables again. I'm quite pleased I have yet another chance...LET'S RUN WELL ONE TIME FOR LIKE A WEEK at NL$25 and crush the games hard enough to get to like $1k to start playing NL$50 6max...

Maybe I'll play a huge $24 tourney once in a while, or satty into the big Double A or B, since those r small fields that don't give me horrible odds to get a good score, once again, if I run OKAY. I've run horribly at fucking MTTs for so fucking long that I have like no desire to play them.

No HH since all these games took place at non- NLHE cash games, so I'll provide them in the future. Let's see if I can try grinding NL$25 6max 4tabling again with HEM.

Yes, I'm a total joke and can't stop doing things like this lol. But I"m not moving down below from NL$25 6max, and I can't say $300 is a crucial amount of money...I coulda played donkaments, but those are annoying. I coulda always played HU sngs, but it's hard to find a weak fish at a $200 HU sng randomly, but it's not too hard to find a bunch of ppl that are exploitable at $50 HU sngs or PLO cash games. At least I played well and ran well today :)

LET'S GOGOGOGOGO let's get to $2k at NL$25 and NL$50 6max by the end of the month for NL$100 6max...?!?!

LOL Bouncebackaments

Blog by : IversonXX3

So for a few days, I was totally retarded. I had a very bizarre turn of events...for the 3 sessions after the good first winning session, I decided "hey, why not shorstack PLO too!?" Except, I now realize that I have some massive leaks in my PLO shortstacking game, followed by the fact that I've ran pretty badly below expectation. I got to as low as like $200 ($150 of which was in play) at like $100 and $55 HU sngs. I also shorstacked one PLO table with $100 and left after like 2.5x'ing up. I had $463 to start this session, but ended up making $247 just straight up grinding NL$25 6max and $20 HU sngs. I've realized a few things...

1. DON'T PLAY PLO I SUCK AT IT WTF AM I THINKING lol
2. Might as well stick to your bread and butter game or don't play online pokahz at all (do other shit)

So I'm going to come back tomorrow and keep grinding those limits. Hopefully I can get my $175 rakeback soon as well to pad the ol' roll.

Wanted to fold but realized it was NL$25....but ARRRRGH case 8!

I still play the unlimited holdthem pokers?

Blog by : IversonXX3

Alright, so brief update with life overall for me...

School has been goin well. Getting up at 9:30 every morning is pretty decent. I expect to have a 2.8-3.25 GPA this semester. No pledging has given me a decent bit of free time!

In fact, enough free time to where I deposited $600 tonite and started 8tbl grinding NL$25 6max. I won $155, and had $20 released of my bonus, so I had a pleasant return to the tables. Therefore, the roll is @ $775, plus I'm getting $175 in rb. $950 roll sounds pretty sweet, and I can take a few BI shot at NL$50 6max.

I've realized how much I miss poker...srsly. If I play ONLY when I feel like it and when other things in life are going okay, I should be able to just grind shit out. No really amusing hands played...I won half my moniez or so on coolers (nut flush to 2nd nut flush and AA to KK aipf).

So I'm going to Cancun from March 8th to the 15th with two of my best friends from high school...YESSSSS. Cliche? So the fuck what. Unlimited food and drinks at the hotel. I'm basically hoping to drink enough to make the hotel regret giving me unlimited drinks lol. The first thing I'm going to do is get on my swim trunks, swim up to the bar (yes, there are two swim up bars), and ask for a bunch of margaritas. I hate tequila, but I better start liking it if I'll be in Mexico!

Math test tomorrow, so gl me...

I will post any interesting HH that arises while I'm grindinnn. Hopefully I can control myself and run my moniez up nicely. Not playing poker for a while fortunately makes it so NL$25 is mildly stimulating (lol), so NL$50 should be amusing. Am I dissapointed it has come to regrinding? Of Course. For a while, it was a very bad cycle of going broke because I was so frustrated at myself for losing the previous buyin...which is an odd catch 22 of trying to get unstuck from losing the previous roll. If I can come to senses and not bust rolls in the retarded way of being frustrated that I lost the LAST one, then I should be okay.

If I run okay, and grind....let's say, 15k hands between now and the rest of the month, I should be at NL$100 6max with a $2k roll. At $3.6k, I'll cash out the $600 I put in and freeroll grind at NL$100. I don't aspire to go any higher than NL$200, as I'm just trying to make money, and forgetting the ego for a while. I still have one $75 tourney token, and since I run so damn badly in these fucking MTT things, maybe I can lucksack one of these and not have to worry about regrinding a roll altogether!?!? LOL SIIIKE

Blog by : IversonXX3

I ended up running badly and losing a bunch over the course of now and the last blog, so I just withdrew the money and decided to screw around with rakeback and try to luckbox some tourney score, since I was afraid I'd donk off the rest of the $. It could possibly happen one day if i srsly ran well in one of these fucking things! The beat at the bottom caused me to BARELY beat the bubble, but I woulda been 2nd in fucking chips with 27 to go, first place being $3.2k! fuck

I'm looking for a stake now because I have to pay for college from now until early January of next year :-(...so I have no money I can risk on poker, since i have to lend my parents between $15-$20k until my college fund matures. Yes, FML. Please let me know if you're interested. I would agree to 60/40 to start, and I'm open to a trial stake for one day and all and have my play evaluated. No PLO, and all...we would agree upon rules. Leme know if any of yall are interested.

Fortunately, I have no classes earlier than 10:30, and classes shouldn't be too hard (except possibly math 108...if I can pass my math placement test otherwise the class is auto-dropped and I have 13 credits). Fraternity stuff is going well, and rush is looking bright. Also, have two pairs of letters, one of which was passed down from an alum from mannyy pledge classes back- I'm not even in his family, but he told me to take the letters and pass them down to my little bro (whenever I get one), and I felt very good about that.

So everything but poker's great :) Fuck poker...I'm looking forward to one day winning a donkament. I may play some FTOPS, depending on if my friend Alex stakes me.
