So much for a downswing...

So before today I was -3ptbb/100 over my last 24k hands in 2008. Well, thanks to people's encouragement and some faith in myself, I was able to turn it around today, BIG TIME. So I was down 7k over my last 24k hands, today I'm up 9.5k, essentially taking me to the green in just 1 day of play (3.5k hands)

Needless to say I am very happy and relieved. Overall I think I played very solid, I even folded top set of KK on a K high board cuz the action was too much and it was very possible someone had a flush/straight and it turned out they did. I played well and ran goot obv. I was also able to be on the receiving end of several regulars going no massive tilt. They basically just ran like me last week. I ran bad against them, but i lost what I was supposed to lose; coolers/setups etc. These guys lost those coolers/setups PLUS hands that they just played very tilted. Like open shoving Kxo to my 3bet or insta calling my 4bet all in with Qxs etc. This makes me feel really good as when I first started off in my poker career I had tilt issues big time. But now I think I have changed for the better. During this whole downswing I did not once shove my stack for the sake of shoving my stack because I was so tilted. And when things got rough I acutally got up and lef the tables and took a break, which was something that I never did before.

I'm pleased with my performance in 2008, although still much to be improved. I will just continue to work hard and better. I will try to post some hands when I get more time. Right now I'm a bit dizzy from playing so much. 4.8k hands yesterday and 3.5k hands today. Time for me to sleep. Here's my sick PT stats. and thanks to everyone who left comments and supported me throughout thsi downswing, much appreciated

Starting a blog again

Alright. So I've decided to start writing a blog again.

Ever since 2008 started I have not had a winning day. It has been extremely frustrating. Granted i have made a few plays that were questionable, but I think for the most part I've played +EV poker. I'm now down -3ptbb for my last 18k hands. Which is pretty sick because I've been winning at 3/6 nl for 4ptbb over the last 150k hands. It is really frustrating and also killing my confidence. In the first few days I had my AK preflop all in against numerous regs and either lose a flip or was dominated. Things went ok for a few days (although still lost), then today I proceed to get set up after set up against regs that I usually don't have a problem with.

It is sooooo frustrating to lose set ups to regs especially if they've made a mistake somewhere in the hand. I mean I want them to make mistakes, but having their mistake turn out profitable time after time togehter is really kiiling my mentality. Also ppl hitting the perfect card to stack me. The turn/river card that gives them the nuts but gives me a strong 2nd best hand.....I'm not one to blame and say I'm the unluckiest person in the world. I know this is just variance. I'm not really sure when the last time I had a downswing like this. I think in Oct I lost 15k for a period of 2 weeks but that didn't bother me THAT much, probably cuz my mindset was right. Now i'm down 7k over my last 18k hands and I'm sweating about how I'm gona go busto soon. I guess good thing my bankroll is over 100k or else I'd be very worried (another reason why I emphasize at least 50 buyin for a given limit's bankroll requirement)

On the side note, for 2008, I'd like to play more poker. Seeing how many ppl have grinded wayyyy harder than I did in 2007, I think I'm a bit lazy. Although I play plenty compared to my other poker friends, I can't just compare with the bottom end of the spectrum. I need to compare to the top and try to top them. I'm not going to set an unrealistic goal like reaching supernova elite, but I'm going to try to play say 65k+ hands every month where I avg'ed about 45k hands last year.

Anyways, jsut some rants from me. I'll be posting some good stuff on my blog in the future. Please drop me some comments or encouragements (really need them now)!
