Not Getting Sick

Today I started my new regimen on my quest not to get sick.

I've been getting sick once every couple of months and feeling tired most days even though I'm a pro poker player who has all the time and the money to invest in myself - my number one resource.

I went to the local GNC picked up some protien powder and good time released multis.

I used to be in really good shape and at some point I started thinking that I should be using the 2 hours a day I went to gym to be playing poker or doing nothing instead - my earn rate playing poker these days is around $200 an hour. OPPS. This was a major mistake. I think my overall game has suffered for it since exercising really is a great stress relief and that time helps put things into perspective. But I'm one of those all or nothing people... I'm either working out 6 or 7 days a week or zero. There's really no in between which makes it easy to see why when I fall off the wagon I hate getting back on.

So this is the schedule I'm going to try

Fit in an hour of exercise during the day either AM or PM depending on the tables/my energy level

AM

Greens pill first thing

Multi, calcium and fish oil with breakfast

Oatmeal with protein powder

Snack: yogurt with kashi high fibre/protein cereal

Work until I run bad or I'm hungry

PM

Lunch/Dinner

Multi, calcium and fish oil

Before bed

Calcium and fish oil

I'll review how I'm feeling in a month...

Looking to take my game to the next level

This is my first blog. I actually just began looking around CardRunners to begin using it as a resource to improve my game. I've watched a couple of videos here and there ... but I'm hoping to find a more systematic approach to improving at poker. I'm writing this blog mostly for myself... kind of like an online diary. I'm not sure what I'm hoping to get from it other than to see where I've been and keep focused on where I want to be going.

I think I'm at the complacency stage right now. I've been playing 2/4 for a year now. Now I'm playing 2/4, 3/6 and some 5/10.

I'm actually playing poker for a living right now which if you know me at all is a bit crazy. I like security ... but it turns out that I like not working for the MAN even more!

So I'm going to ride out this poker wave for as long as I can make a living and/or keep enjoying it. So having said that I'm looking to improve my game!
