Friday + Saturday mmmm

Blog by : Greco
0

Well, I played a lot of hands the last couple of days. (for me anyway). PLayed about 5k hands and lost -$50. Friday was really burtal. Lost 7 buyins at 100nl. I would say I tilted off 2 stacks due to just monkey tilt and at one point I had to just shut off Stars. It was crazy, I wasn't playing my best but the hands that were beating were pretty crazy. So I went to bed alst night determined to put in a good session. Luckily for me I did.

The games on Saturday are good. Won back my buyins pretty much. Up just over 6 buyins so I'm pretty much breakeven for the weekend. Cant play any more today but will play tomorrow night and look to make a profit for the weekend. This month has been very swingy to say the least, only up $499 which is only 1.44pt/bb.

Think I could be playing better, my losing session yesterday was played at 21/18 and my winning session today was 19/16. Bascially stopped my steals with weak aces, it's a little tight but I got paid off so I'm not sure which way to go. I'm after the money so I dont really care for the pre flop stats.

I lke stealing but I may re evaluate what hands I do it with.

Think I may struggle to hit Platimun this month, very annoying but I will try my best. I have 3500 vpps to get in over a week. Its certainly doable but I cant play anymore today, none on MOnday and Tuesday will be difficult as I'm drinking all day Monday which means Tues will be a write off. I'll just have to put in a monster week otherwise. Works out to 22 hours. We will see, hopefully I wont go busto by then!

Good luck, do better than this....

break even Sunday

Blog by : Greco
0

Just finshed an extremely frustrating Sunday session. Played just over 3k hands and finished down $40. Very annoying to say the least. I was really on the wrong side of variance today, it's a pain to be honest. I played OK, not great but KK vs AQ aIl in pre and AK vs AJ all in pre and losing doesn't help the win rate.

Played 19/16 too cos there was so many shorties that were shoving over pre flop andthe fish were hitting. I'm glad I put in the hands, I'm on course to hit platinum on Stars this month which i'm happy about.Think I'm going to get two Amazon £250 vouchers and buy a new TV. It's much better value than getting it through points only. Hopefully that should be End of Sept if I hit Plat this month,

Sessions like this really make you long for Rakeback, sadly I can't get it on FT but it's no big deal, Platinum status is good so fingers crossed. My month is now officially rubbish. Up just $207, compared to last month $1660 it's not great is it?

Here's hoping that the week ahead is better. Hoping to play a at least 5k this week. Have days off so I'm going to grind hands and see what happens.

Not posting hands cos I'm not really in the mood. Who wants to see bad beats?

OK, so it look like I'm no good with blogging

Blog by : Greco

HI guys, sorry for the lack of updates. I really respect the people who can blog and play every night. It's not that I don't want to do both but I work and don't get home until 7pm and then by the time I eat etc its half 8/9 and I'm tired etc and I find it hard to get in the right frame of mind to play long sessions. It's really frustrating actually because while at work I browse 2+2 and here and am really developing my game but I never seem to put in the hours.

Anyway, since August I've played less than 4k hands which I know is terrible but I honestly find it hard, weekends are pretty much gone and the week days are tough. I will play more but I want to play because I want to, not because I have to.

Despite the lack of hands I have managed to win $388 for 5ptbs/100. Not crushing but steady enough, I feel I have adapted to 100nl OK now and feel pretty comfortable. I don't feel miles ahead of the bunch like I did at 50nl, but my hourly is better at 100nl so it's definately profitable to grind where I am.

Limit Hands Hands Won Sessions Sessions Won Hours Amount Won BB/100 $/100 BB/Hour $/Hour
$1 NL (6 max) 8,847 1,578 (17.84%) 85 39 (45.88%) 16.45 $903.75 5.11 $10.22 27.47 $54.94
$0.50 NL (6 max) 13,258 2,441 (18.41%) 90 50 (55.56%) 29.63 $1,145.75 8.64 $8.64 38.66 $38.66
$0.02 NL (6 max) 29 4 (13.79%) 6 3 (50.00%) 0.22 $2.85 245.69 $9.83 328.85 $13.15

These are my overall stats since PT3. I'm pretty happy with it apart from the volume, I just wish I could gring more. Not losing AK v 62o AIPF for full stacks would also be nice...

Oh and the 0.02NL was to sort out kinks in the PT3 HUD. Notice how I CRUSHED it!!

The bankroll is currently at $3917. That's an all time high for me and I'm happy with building steady. I'm not in a rush to hit 200nl any time soon, I want to play 50k minimum at 100nl and see where I am.

I will post again on Sunday, think I can play a few hours on Sat but we will see. Good luck everyone.

Still running good...

Blog by : Greco

Things are still doing well poker wise. Haven't actually played that much actually, was fairly busy with work and going out/girlfriend stuff but managed to put in about 3k hands in the week and finished up $1037.

That's pretty sick considering the amount of hands and obviously I must be running good, but I haven't sucked out majorly so it must be hot cards. Anyway, here's the graph.

As you can see, it's really sweet. I have been using some good game selection and really just playing when I'm tuned on. This isn't that often after work on weekdays and thats why I haven't put in that many hands but I'm looking to kick on and play 4k before Saturday. Downswing coming no doubt!

Here are a few hands of interest...

Poker Stars, $0.50/$1 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players
LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter

SB: $103.35
BB: $104.20
UTG: $79.25
MP: $50.70
Hero (CO): $155
BTN: $121.35

Pre-Flop: J J dealt to Hero (CO)
UTG calls $1, MP folds, Hero raises to $5, BTN calls $5, 2 folds, UTG calls $4

Flop: ($16.50) T K J (3 Players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $13, BTN calls $13, UTG folds

Turn: ($42.50) A (2 Players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $25, Hero calls $25

River: ($92.50) A (2 Players)
Hero bets $96, BTN calls $78.35 and is All-In

Results: $249.20 Pot ($3 Rake)
Hero showed J J (a full house, Jacks full of Aces) and WON $246.20 (+$124.85 NET)
BTN mucked Q K and LOST (-$121.35 NET)

Believe it or not, this is the most interesting hand in my entire 3k hands...i was fully prepared to fold on the river if it didnt pair but I decided to check call the turn as I'm ahead alot but if I bet and get raised then its sad, river is gin -ish, its boats some other hands up but I decide to push and he tanked and couldnt fold the Q.

I going to keep plugging away, playing when I feel good. I'll try and update more but its hard.

Bankroll is at $3529 which is a all time high, onwards and upwards people!

Running great 50nl not so good 100nl

Blog by : Greco
0

Hey, this was my result for last night on 50nl after a dismal shot at 100nl. Lost 5buy-ins at 100nl but won 6+ last night so I'll rebuild and take another shot weekend maybe. Prob Sunday as i'm fairly busy the from Thursday on wards.

I'm really enjoying playing again and was so disappointed with my 100nl shot and I had to fight myself not to carryon playing that game as I was running bad and not making the correct plays as result. I'm glad I stuck it out and retained my discipline and beat 50nl again.

Bankroll is at $2750 all profit and will take a shot at 100nl again soon. Not necessarily when i hit 30BI but more like when I feel I'm playing well and the games look good. I think it's bad to think you must play one limit and one limit only, take shots at 20/25/30BIs at the next level, find the comfort zone. If there's a good game running, take a shot, as long as you can move back down it's no great shakes.

Good luck people.

Running good in poker, bad in blog

Blog by : Greco

Argh! Had a blog done but didn't save it and lost it. Never mind, I will do a short version.

Played a 3hour 6tabling 50nl session tonight and crushed it for $347. Ran at 20/17 for 18bb/100. Really very happy with my play, thought I picked spots well and played my hands for max value most of the time.

Here is the graph:

As you can see from the graph I was sick hot today but this has been coming. I have been studying so hard of late and really thinking about board texture and ranges and I think it's paying off. Obviously this is over a small sample and I'm sure to hit a downswing soon but I feel good about my game.

I won $1900 in 20k hands at 50nl on Absolute and am now up $1017 over just under 10k hands at Stars. I feel like I have turned a corner and maybe am becoming a good winner. In my previous blog I talked about the $1k in my neteller account from the Abso cash out that I would put into Stars to hit $3k and roll me up for 100nl. Right now I stand at $2882.90. Hopefully this means I will hit $3k on my own and will leave the money left over for my holiday to Barcelona in Sept.

No real hands of note but I did hit a straight flush today...

Good times

So, I 've been playing well and running fairly well. Up $670 over 7801 hands running at 8.59pt/bb.

I feel I've been playing well but I'm still making errors which are frustrating me. I need to eradicate these before I move up to 100nl. I currently have $2535 in my BR and have another $1k or so to move over from Absolute. When I reach 30 buy-ins I am moving up, whether that will be with the Abso money or not is yet to be seen. I've only played for 7 days on my PT3 database so it's not a large sample but I think its sustainable.

I played a 6tabling session earlier and played really well but lost some big pots toward the end which annoyed me a lot. Took a + $244 session down to a +$73 session. Pretty brutal but that is life. Feel I misplayed one badly but the others are standard I think.

Bad hand: We had history but it was the ST time he had 4bet me. I honestly put him on S+ here and that is why I flat in PPS.

When I get to $3k, I willl move up, hopefully that will be without having to put the withdrawal from Abso, I just got an extra $176 rake back too so that is all raring to go but hopefully I can grind on Stars and make it to 3k from winnings.

Very long time no see

Blog by : Greco

Hey guys,

Well, I did good keeping up the blog... Sorry about that, but I started a new job, went on a downswing and started playing badly. Really wasn't happy with my game at all and actually withdrew all my money from Stars. I felt that as I was playing what was essentially breakeven poker I needed some form of rakeback. So I went to Absolute..I know people hate the site but iit was the only place I could get rakeback as I have accounts at FT. So anyway, I turned 950 into 3000 with bonus and 2months rake. the site is so soft its actually untrue, the 200bb standard tables leave alot of room to extract value from bad players and I really felt like I had done well there. But I have decided that I will stop playing there before August is out. I have moved half of my bankroll over and will mover the rest over whne Stars allows me to via Neteller. the reason is being because of the cheating and stuff ascoiated to it.

So, I'm back at Stars playing 50nl again till my BR comes over and then if I have $3000 I may well have a look at 100nl.

My game has changed since the last time and I am now trying to run around 24/20. Last night I played a 1000 hand session and was 26/22. I will begin to post hands once more and become active once more. Please keep reading, the blog helps me be more honest with myself and I would really appreciate the feedback.

Cheers guys.

Long time no see

Hey, sorry for the lack of updates but have been a bit busy. Not played a great deal to be honest but have made strides in my game.

February was a losing month for me and it hurt. Lost 9 buy ins and while there was no doubt I ran bad, I feel i have the ability to beat the games well enough to ride out standard variance that comes with it. So....I got myself a coach. Only had one lesson so far but the change in my game has been great. Basically, I was playing far too weak tight. I knew in my heart I was but wasn't sure how to go about changing it. My coach gave me a few tips and it is definitely paying dividends.

The main thing I can say is that I've upped the aggression factor a lot. Before I was reluctant to turn certain hands into bluffs, such as pocket 9s on a 36Q board and I would simply call in position. Now I will definitely consider raising in that spot. It folds out hands that have overs to your pair and should fold out 10/10 and JJ. It works a treat and also gives you a chance to get paid off big time when you have a set/2pair.

Since the lesson I've only played about 4,400. I was still ironing out kinks and was a bit too aggressive in spots I maybe shouldn't have been in the first 2k hands but since then I've played 2.5k hands and am up $399 running at 16.18bb/100. This win rate is obv a bit high but I really feel I can sustain a highish rate if play well and think through the hands enough.

I'm enjoying poker again which is nice and hopefully will be able to keep winning, and book a big win in March.

I can't win. It's official. I've only started logging hands since the 22nd Jan and after 25,000 hands I am down $75. Its been really stressful actually as it just seems I'm getting my money in good so often and losing.

Poker EV is telling me I'm running about $420 below expectation. This is reassuring but still only brings me to 1.3bb/100. This only takes account of hands that go to showdown and not hands where I have the best hand at the turn but get sucked out on the river and have to fold. This has happened more times than I care to remember.

I obviously have some flaws in my game and I'm willing to acknowledge this. Think the turn is where I lose most money and it's something I will have to look at further.

These are typical hands of my run recently.

So as you can see things are not going well for me at all. I'm actually pretty devoid of all confidence in my game at the minute and not sure what to do. I know its only a small 25 thousand hand sample but I feel like maybe I can't play. I was a winner at Ongame and did pretty well in some MTTs. Only recently started using PT and a HUD so have only really begun tracker my results properly since Jan. Maybe I'm a losing player...

I am well up for coaching so if anyone is coaching 50nl and would like a keen student I'm your man. I'm not sure how much the going rate is but send me a message here or mail me at ndr7184 at yahoo.co.uk and I'll gladly listen. I've got skype and AIMpro etc so think it should be easy. I'm obviously doing something fundamentally wrong and I'm not sure I can find it on my own. Cheers for reading guys.

Good luck at the table people. Someone has to have it!!

here are some Rome pics as promised..
