Ok so in light of the Poker Stars filing suit against Poker Table Ratings debacle I figured I'd put together a graph anthology of my Stars play over the past 18 months. Stars has accounted for roughly 50% of my overall play over this period of time. Personally I think PTR going down is a good thing for poker. Anything that abuses the Bum Hunters is a big plus in my books. Well here we go with the good the bad and ugly.
My Bread and Butter Graph 1/2 + 2/4

What can I say, I love the midstakes. Its where I feel comfortable and fear no player. I have fond memories battling it out with a few really strong players. At certain times I thought they were invincible but as I improved their games became a lot more transparent to me. Time and effort is all it takes.
0.25/.50

In January of last year I had a student who was getting crushed at this limit and kept groaning about how bad the stake was. He was my friend first before being my student so I didn't feel bad telling him he was being stupid and I'd prove it by making 100 buyins in a month. I got half of the way there but got distracted by some juicy 1/2 games which put an end to that.
.50/1

This graph is pretty bad to look at. In my defence .50/1 has been the limit of choice for drunken HU jokefests causing a pretty spewy slope. Between the HU and some bad sessions on the 250BB tables this is the result. I never put too much time or effort into these games.
1/2

I look at this limit with the fondness of a lost love. We had our time together and it was something special but all things come to an end. In this case I moved up to 2/4 and found a new dancing partner. This is the first limit where advanced play can be phased into the game with a great deal of success. Its just enough money to stop people from calling off frivolously with high frequency. Most of this graph is from later 2010 until March 2011.
2/4

Fuck Yes! Going back to my NL days 2/4 had always been a cursed limit for me. One year I had made six figures at both 10/20 and 5/10 with 20k at 1/2 but was down 50k at 2/4? Moving forward to my current 4 card only diet its been a great run since April of last year. I've played 8 months of 2/4 on Stars with the gaps coming during WSOP and when I cashed out and punted off a bankroll forcing me to move down late last year. Even more so than 1/2 advanced play becomes very important. Straightforward players are just that, easy to play.
3/6

Not too much to worry about here. Down less than 10BIs over a relatively small sample is nothing I'm worried about. I chalk this up to learning curve of moving up with a sprinkle of run bad and play bad. As far as I'm concerned I should be a winner in these games but don't them much as I prefer 2/4. Time will tell.
5/10

Now this is just painful to look at. The graph does not reflect the player. You can go back in my blog to May 2011 pre WSOP to read about my unfairly brutalization at 5/10. Sometimes the poker gods punish you for trying to move up and that's what has happened here. I took another shot in February and spiked up 8k but lost 7k back. I have full intentions of making my way back to this arena but I'm waiting to have a big enough shot taking roll that I can play out a full week regardless of results. I'm thinking a 30k win or go broke shot will suffice. This won't have until after the SCOOPs but this is on the horizon. The play is much different than 2/4 as the regs are better and foreign to me while there are tons of 30-60 BB stacks trying to spin it up. It makes a dynamic I'm not used to yet.
