Hey guys before I go into my blog I'd like to let you know I'm going to be on the Quad Jacks show PokerEh! Thursday at 9PM EST. It's a Skype webcam for about an hour hosted by Jeremy EV Hero.

Also you'd be doing me and Gavz101 girlfriend Olivia a huge favour if you voted for her DJ mix in the Boomtown Fair Comp. I'm not entirely sure what that is as I'm in Canada and unlikely to go to England soon but it's a big deal to her so it's a big deal to me. She's in the Bassline Section under LittleMissDJ currently in 2nd place with 206 votes. Just think if she gets super famous and you helped it happen how cool that would be!

In poker it's very easy to have a short term memory. I play the $530 6max PLO on Stars every Monday at 5PM. This has to be the least profitable tournament results I've ever yielded with one singular cash in 20 - 25 attempts. Luckily the one time I cashed I made the final table for a $3500 cash thus wiping out seven other losing tries. Most Mondays I bust out within the first two hours having built my 5k stack to the 10-20k range.
The players are typically really bad and have little to no concept of fundamental PLO strategy. People set mine on 20bb stacks to an UTG open or raise call off 50% of their stacks with rags. I often times roll my eyes at the absurdity of my opponents play and scratch my head thinking that tournament is the worst PLO opponents I play all week. It'd be very easy to fall into the "woe is me" train of thought so I have to remind myself of my lifetime PLO MTT results.
I'm unsure exactly how many attempts I've had in the Monday tournament but if I assume I've played 25 times for a total buyin of $13,250. When I subtract the $3500 cash I'm left at a deficit of $9750. The Monday tournament pays on average $15,000 - $22,000 for the bink so that figure can quickly be wiped out with one singular run good. I can't help the fact I keep getting the short end of the stick when the big stacks get in the middle. With that in mind I look back at passed PLO MTT results. I have a 2nd in the WCOOP for $61,000 and a 2nd in the FTOPS half PLO half PLH for $32,000. These two finishes vastly outweigh all other lifetime PLO MTT buyins yet they seem so far in the past I have to remind myself weekly that lifetime I'm way out in front.
The Monday tournament will probably continue to frustrate me until the one day it doesn't. I'm just glad that in the past when I finally did run well in a tournament I picked the biggest scores. If I have to lose every $530 I play just to bink a major well so be it.
