Yesterday was the HU PLO SCOOP day and I'm pretty happy with my results in the $200. To wrap it up in a nutshell I busted the $2000 to Volanth thanks to a incorrect 5 bet bluff by me. In theory I should have always had outs given how the hand played out but he actually had a weak boat and called it off anyways. The more I look at the hand the more I think my range is mostly the nuts and very little bluffs so I'm not too mad about what happened. The $200 saw me devastate my first five opponents to make it into the round of 32 vs a 2/4 regular RsMig that I have tons of history with. He's been someone I've made a lot of money off of over the years and now he usually leaves the table when I sit down. He beat me but I'll get to that in a bit.

I got off to another fast start and had him 7k to 3k pretty quickly then we went on break. Sophia had great timing and got home at this point so I got to spend a whole 3 minutes with her before going back to work. I told her I wanted to concentrate and beat this guy and then give her my full attention. Within a minute of coming back to the game I bust the guy and move on.

You'll notice a trend in my HU play is I really put the pressure on early. I feel with 250bb stacks its in my favour to force people to play faster before the blinds go up increasing my variance. Five matches in the only real coin flip I took on was with AA vs AA in the first round. This was about to change.

Match 6 Round of 32 $1417

Enter RsMig. I was very happy to be seeded against him because he wouldn't have the chance to leave the table. I expected him to come out firing and he didn't disappoint. I used his style against him and build up a 6300 to 3700 lead when he coolered me pretty hard to turn the stacks around to 6k to 4k for him. The last hand is really self explanatory. I 3b and flop top two on a draw heavy board. I expect him to bluff raise me a decent amount of the time on the flop and the rest of the time he has some combo draw. Since I have no idea which combo he can have, which is literally every piece + combination, and I can't improve from two pair except with bigger two pairs and boats I have a real problem. Calling is bad because I'm just guessing on all turns so I just jam and remove the possibility of being exploited. In a cash game I think there's a lot of merit to just calling because the hands will continue even if you get stacked but in a MTT you only have one life. He obviously flopped the world on me getting it in as a 60% and they paired the wrong turn on me!

I was very unpleased to lose to Mig and I assume he's going to win the whole thing now just to spite me. The clear cut favourite and its not even close is Krumpir. He's been killing HU games on Stars and FTP for years now. After the match I enjoyed two pints of vodka waters and was off to gourmet pizza with Sophia. I had the perfect amount of drinks and food to get me buzzed but not hungover at all. All in all yesterday was a fun HU day. The MTT didn't end as planned but I ran up a $10k stack at 3/6 HU which is basically 3rd place money in the MTT so hazzza to that.
