Day 2

Day 2 was a rather busy day and I only played 2009 hands. Which is funny to me because I remember when it was a challenge to play 200 hands now 2K gets an only. So this morning I decide to take a look at my PT stats because my profits are non existent right now and I noticed some glaring issues.

1. I am playing way too tight. I am really embarased to say this but my stats are 9/7/2.6 my positional stats are just as horrible. I am 14/12 on the button and 10/9 from the CO. I need to be absolutely abusing these positions and i'm not. Additionally I am playing too many hands out the blinds compared to the hands I play with position.

2. Blind stealing, again embarrased to say but 12.9% is not optimal I need to be stealing blinds between 25-30%

3. And of course I am running horrible.

So these are the things I'm going to work on this week. Playing 9/7 my hands are basically face up against any thinking player. I'm not gonna get crazy with it, but I do want to get that up a little. The blind stealing, and the button on the other hand, I'm gonna be pretty ignorant with those. So I will keep you posted on how that works out.

Ok now for some hands from this past session.

So this hand I get AQ from the SB. Villian posts and then calls a raise from the CO, so I figure he's a weak player, with either a small ace or a pp. After some cold calls by villain I figure he has at best two pair that he's behind with

That was actually my biggest lost of the day.

Most of my hands were hands like this, and this is the type of hand I question constantly. But really what do I beat here. The donk bet on the turn was frustrating but after he called my raise on the flop he can't have anything worse than an ace which still beats me.

Here we go. Position raise, miss the flop, cbet, fold to aggression. 24 tables of this can add up. I can't get creative here can I?

Day 1

Ok so day one was rather uneventful. I saw 4068 hands with about breakeven results. After reviewing my hands I'm really pleased with my play. I caught some bad situations and could have easily titlted however I remained solid. I think this is actually a strong part of my game and multitabling actually enhances it. (With so much action going on you really don't have time to think about a bad beat) and here's a rule of thumb if you are still thinking about a hand 5 hands latter you are most likely on tilt. Take a break, walk away from the tables and get focused.

So my session startes out where I flopped a set and my opponent was obviously drawing.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2915757

So what do you do there i get all the money in and I'm certain that his best case is a draw in which I'm winning 71% of the time.

Another hand early in the session, I get kings preflop. Now it's somewhat easy to put AK in this guys range but consider this I have two kings which makes that highly unlikely. He was in the small blind and probably should 3bet QQ+ here but this is 10nL so why should I expect that. So I figured AQ, a set, J's etc. his check kind of put me in the mind that he may have had AQ and was afraid of the board texture

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2915784

Again I think this is pretty standard. I can't find a fold here simply because I really don't see him showing up with AK enough. Maybe it's a leak, perhaps someone can convince me otherwise.

Standard, but is this really standard at these levels, I mean 4bet at these levels is always KK+, but I shall not, will not fold. Leak, convince me otherwise. I had two outs...LOL!!!

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2915791

And this hand, you won't believe how often I get called here!!! LOL I just feel like the value from aces comes from being 3-bet and being able to 4bet after 4betting light so much, if that makes sense. However at this level you're rarely getting 3bet or 4bet so I stick it in pre, and the calls I get are amazing. Anyway I get called enough that I actually will continue to play this way at these levels.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2915808

So this hand is the one that I had ?'s about. How many people think 2 4 is in either of these guys range. Once again I figure I'm pretty good against two strong A's and probably two pair. So instead of raising her I elect to try and keep hands in that I have dominated. I mean the board was prety dry if you ask me. I mean who calls a raise with 2 4 here???

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2915835

What do you think did I play this wrong, trying to be greedy?

Ok so those were some of the hands that I think are pretty much standard coolers. In the next few days I will post hands in which I have position, raise, c-bet, then have to fold to aggression. I'd like to know if anyone would play any of these hands differently. I think alot of leaks can show up in those types of situations.

Hello All

Blog by : GIMEDAT

So I have decided to blog my progress through the poker world. A little about myself. I have been a member of cardrunners since 06, and I mark that as my date of beginning to take poker seriously. I have done really well with poker but have cashed out most of my winnings. I have deposited $100 ran it to +$1000 cashed out rinsed washed repeat. Several times. I am a chemistry instructor in Atlanta and of course Verneer is my fav CR instructor and the one that I draw inspiration from. I have played as high as $3-$6 in my wtf is bankroll days. My current game is $50nl with some heads up Omaha thrown in. I believe my heads up Omaha game is probably as good as any, and will probably make that and short handed Omaha games my foundation in the future. For now inspired by WCGRIDER I have taken up massive multi tabling to build my roll. I am currently 24-tabling on stars, which leads to my current challenge and the main reason for this blog. I am challenging myself to play 250,000 over the next 45 days. It seems like a pretty easy challenge but please consider that I do work a full time job. I will start at $10nl and move up accordingly. I will only post hand totals for this challenge, in addition to some daily hands that I find to be interesting or difficult. After the 45 days have elapsed, I will then post my summary graph with win/lost totals, fpp, vpps and etc.

Start date 07/18/08

End date 08/31/08
