Playing shorthanded

Blog by : Fettern
0

Things have been going very well for awhile. I've actually been beating shorthanded 1-2 a few nights, and very easily too. Then last night nothing worked out and I dropped about $700. Disappointing, and the worst feeling is that I don't really know why I lost. I wasn't drawn out on. Maybe I was just outplayed, or my timing was off the whole night. Anyway, I really lost confidence so I'm going back to 6-tabling fullring 0,5/1 the next days. I always go back to the games I know I'm beating when I have a losing day or two. I have to leave now, but I'll make another blog tonight with some interesting hands. Btw, I'm leaving for Vegas in 17 days, and that will be soooo awesome!! :D:D

Folding KK preflop

Blog by : Fettern
0

I've folded kings preflop twice the last week. I never get to know if it was correct the first time, but I'm pretty sure he had aces. Yesterday I layed it down again, and this time my opponent was kind enough to show his hand:

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2670486

It was a really great feeling when he flipped over the aces! :) I'm doing really really well these days. Sunday I made $1,1k playing 1-2, and yesterday I won a little over $800 at 0,5/1. Monday started well as I was up $500, but I went on megatilt in my last session and lost $400, which made me only $100 up. I'm very exited about how much rake I will get this month too. Raketherake will probably update later today, and I'm hoping I will get over $1k in rakeback this month. Gotta go now, take care everyone.

Playing against Dmmikkel

Blog by : Fettern
0

So I logged onto FTP today, and suddenly found Dmmikkel sitting at five 1-2 fullring tables. I haven't been running too good the last week and I have cashed out $4k, so I'm not really bankrolled for anything above 0,5/1, but I still decided to play with Dag Martin, because it's not often he plays that low, and usually he plays 6-handed or HU so this was a unique opportunity! I sat down at six tables, and with Dmmikkel at five of them. I was to his immidiate left on one of them which should turn at to be very profitable. First of all he didn't play anyway near as aggressive as I thought he would do. I expected him to raise and reraise almost every pot, but he actually played about the same amount of hands as I did. First he doubled up with AA vs AJ on a J high flop, and then he was allin preflop with AA vs AK, so he had a $600 stack. Then I won a couple of nice pots against him. This is one of them:

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2655426

A little later my stack was at $468 and he had $393. I felt he was a little frustrated with me, but I wasn't bluffing him or anything, I was just slowplaying big hands vs him because I know he is very aggressiv and will fire if he senses weakness. Anyway, I picked up QQ UTG:

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2654656

Pretty sick! By far my biggest online pot ever, and so cool that it was against a fulltilt pro, and that he's norwegian :) The deck is of course as cold as it gets, and I'm just really lucky to be on the right side of the set up. Dag Martin started to whine a little after the hand about running bad, which I think is pretty funny :) I continued to run really hot this night, here's another example:

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2654648

What a beautiful turncard! The guy with the nutflush played this hand as bad as he could, and all I had to do was call them down :) Would have sucked pretty bad if the 5 of diamonds fell on the river though. I quit the session a little after this being up over $900 in under two hours... I took a shower and then played a very short session: Here's the only big hand:

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2655448

OK, so he's minraising preflop and betting under half the pot on the flop so I decide to float him on the turn, which doesn't work at all as he instacalls my turnraise. When I see the offsuit jack on the river I just start laughing because I'm running so good it's funny. Then he fires out $50 in front and it looks like he has A9 and is valuebetting his straight. I reraise all in and he instacalls me with AJ.... How bad to they get?? I got insanely lucky in this hand, but how do a guy lose his whole stack on that board with 2 pair? Calling the turn is OK, and turned out to be a very good call, but how on earth does he not check/call or check/fold the river? Seems to me that some of these players are so loose that when they have more than 1 pair, it's impossible for them to understand that they can be beat....

So I'm up over $1k today which makes this my biggest cashgame day. I ran hot as hell and felted a fulltilt pro :P GG and GL

Playing like crap

Blog by : Fettern

I played my first soccergame in a long time yesterday, and when I came home I was totally destroyed. I played for about 3 hours from 24:00-03:00 and lost $160. I deserved to lose more, but a couple of guys were throwing money at me so the loss didn't get too ugly. Still some of the plays I made was just terrible. The last hand of the night cutoff raised to $7 and I just called with AQ on the button, Then SB who had about $125 raised to $20 which looks very very strong to me. I decided to he had to have KK or AA, but as cutoff called I was prized in. The flop of course came queen high, and he bet out half the pot, whichh looks even stronger. Cutoff folded and I would usually fold 9/10 times here too, but I was tilted and tired and pissed and pushed all in and he instacalled with KK. The only good thing I did last night was to immidiately log out after this hand as I realized I was on supertilt, and playing like a complete donkey.

I had a short session this morning, after getting a haircut, just 2-tabling 0,5-1 for 40 minutes before going to work. I made a little over $100 which felt very good. The biggest hand was when UTG limped and I decided to pot it with KQ from the nest position, everyone folded to him who called, and the flop came K Q 2. He checkcalled the flop and the turn, and on the river he quickly checked again(Both the turn and river was totalt blanks). I thought he had to have either KJ or J10 so I pushed the river and hoped to get called by a king. He called so fast I was afraid he might have flopped a set of ducks, but it turned out he had AK. WP!

Now I have to work for 1 hour and then I'm going home to play some more :)

My biggest cashgame day

Blog by : Fettern
0

Today I've had my biggest cashgame day ever making $820. Besides playing two $2 dollar HU SNGs with a friend of mine(I won both :D), I've only played fullring $1-2. I ran very good as I took down one $400 pot with top vs bottom set, and then I won this one, which is my biggest online pot ever(beats last nights pot with 5 bucks :P):

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2600949

I'm running good in pretty much every possible way, as others players have big hands when I have monsters, and when I'm getting it in with 2 pair or an overpair vs a draw my hand holds up. Also of course I'm winning because of hands like this:

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2601161

Should be an easy laydown for him on the flop. On the turn and river it's worse of course, but he's forgetting one very important rule: Never go broke in an unraised pot! I was a little afraid he could have AT on the river, but I wasn't going to checkfold either so I just put him all in and hoped to get called by 9T, JT, QT or KT. The next hand is perfectly played in my opinion:

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2601202

I really love the checkraise on the turn, as I felt he had a jack and would bet it. I put him on KJ or AJ, but as it turned out he had a lot more outs. Very nice to see my hand hold up though :)

It's 05 in the morning so I'm going to bed now, so I can get up and do my 2 hours of "real" work tomorrow from 14-16. Then I'm going to grind some more. Hopefully with more good results. Good night :)

Doing well

Blog by : Fettern

I've played a lot of poker lately, but haven't had the energy to write about it. My bankroll is bigger than ever, and I'm grinding a lot at the $1-2 tables now. I'm almost bankrolled for it, which feels great. I'm also playing some 50NL 6-max and fullring 0,5-1 when I feel like splashing around a little. I'm up a little over $300 today even though I have a pretty bad hangover :) I was out of town this weekend to party with 2 of my best friends. At the end of the night a really qute girl came over and just asked me if I wanted to make out, and of course I said yes :) She gave me her number and I might meet her again, but I'm not sure as I got the sickest crush ever on a girl I met about a year ago, that I will probably never get.... Well, at least last night boosted my confidence :)

I played on my laptop tonight and I forgot to save the handhistory here so I can't post any hands. I was down $300 in 20 minutes tonight after my aces was cracked against kings in a $240 pot and I made a couple of bluffs that didn't work... Then a guy with a $750 stack raised to $7 and a reraised to 24 with AA. He then reraised to 68, and i decided to just call. The flop came KQJ which is as bad as it gets... He bet out 139 in front to put me all in, and the only hand I can beat here is AK. I felt sick but as a lot of pokerplayers I wasn't able to lay down the aces and prayed he had AK, which he did! :D A blank turn and river gave me my biggest online pot ever of $409 :) I'm taking a 20 minute break now, and then I'll be playing for about 1h and 30mins before going to bed.

Not too drunk

Blog by : Fettern
0

I didn't get to drunk tonight so I played a couple of hours when I got home like I planned. I made $160 in 2 hours which is pretty good. I stayed down at the $0,5-1 tables, and the action was OK. Nothing like the $1-2 tables yesterday, but pretty nice. There were no really big hands, but I did take a few bad beats in smaller pots. I was all in on the flop with AA vs 44 and a 4 came on the turn, but the pot wasn't more than $60.

I think this was the biggest pot I won today:

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2559543

Usually I wouldn't be able to call the river here, and I wouldn't play KQs out of position for 8xBB from an early raiser, but this guy was steaming like crazy. I'm watching episode 1 of HSP season 4 before going to bed now. Man, I love Mike Matusow! :D

Back again

Blog by : Fettern

As I had to leave Oslo I didn't get to play poker for 4-5 days, but now I'm back playing. I had a little downswing, where I wasn't running too good. Last night I tilted like crazy, so I took a walk, and when I came back I decided to go up to the 1-2 fullring tables. Moving up in stakes is probably not what the pros recommend to do when you're on tilt, but it doesn't have to be bad as you're game will probably be a lot sharper. At least mine was yesterday. The players were a lot looser than in the level below, and I ended up winning about $400 in 2 hours. At times the games were just sick. There were allins with complete air, and huge pots with top pair with no kicker vs an underpair... My biggest pot of the night was at $260 were I called down a really bad player with A8s at a A Q 7 3 3 board. He fired every street, and at the end I called for a split, but he proudly flipped over jacks...

Here's the last hand of the night:

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2555192

I had great success with playing very passive like this yesterday, as a lot of players were happy to bluff away all their chips. I really enjoyed playing 1-2 as I have probably been grinding 0,5-1 and 0,25/0,50 a little too long. Still I don't feel completely comfortable with these stakes, and I'm not really bankrolled for it. I think I'm going to play more 0,5/1 and then move up to 1-2 for good when my bankroll is ready. I'm going over to a friend of mine to eat dinner and have some beers now, but will probably play some more when I get home. Depends on how drunk I get and if we go out tonight or not... Take care everyone! :)

Short session

Blog by : Fettern
0

Just finished a short 6-handed 0,25/0,50 session where I made $165. I'm shocked how aggressiv the 6-handed games are compared to the fullring tables. It's really sick. People are 3-betting and 4-betting and moving all in like there's no tomorrow. I openraised one pot with AJ, the guy to my immidiate left reraises me, BB instashoves for $55, I fold and the guy to my left snap calls, and they both turn over AK. It seems like everyone are willing to put all their money in preflop with AK, 10s and so on with no hesitation. It's really fun to play in these games, but I imagine the swings can be pretty big when I play four tables. I'm actually bankrolled to play 0,5/1 too, but I don't think I will play 6-handed 0,5/1 yet as those games are probably even more aggressiv, which means that the downswings will be so big that I will tilt like hell. I'm up a very nice $345 today. I've been running great and also playing pretty good I hope :) Have a good night everyone :)

Down and up

Blog by : Fettern
0

I had my first losing day for a while yesterday, as I was down $125 when the day was over. I ran very bad so the result was OK. Today I had 30 minutes to kill so I decided to play four 6-handed 0,25/0,50 tables. After 20 minutes my cousin called so I quit, but I was already up 200 then, which is pretty sick. Here's the big hands:

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2500689

One of the sickest hands I've ever played. I was going to raise the flop myself, but when the guy to my right did It I decided to just call and hope to hit one of my 12 outs, preferebly a non heart 9. I've flopped so many monsterdraws lately, and I've played them really aggressivly and missed, so I didn't want to put more money in than I had to before my hand was made. Besides I put the player to my right on a set so I definetily didn't want to get all the money in as a big dog. Then the ace of hearts fell, and the first guy immidiately goes all in which is a huge overbet. The player to my right thought for a long time and called, which made me even more sure he had a set. I just couldn't believe that the first guy to act could had the nuts here so I had to call with the 2. nuts. When the hands were flipped over I saw that the guy to my right has 5s, so I just assumed that there was a 5 on the board, and I was really happy to see a blank river. When I checked the HH later I suddenly realized: There was no 5 on the board! How could he call all in for $44 when there's about $8 in the pot, 4 overcards, a flush out there, and 4 people in the pot. Probably the sickest call I have ever seen...

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2500877

The call preflop is probably boarderline, but I got position so it's not terrible. 6-handed is a complete different game than fullring, because people reraise with almost everything. Therefore he didn't have to have a big hand here. I like the way I played after the flop as I probably got max out of him.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2500877

It feels like someone always has kings when I have aces and the other way around these days... This time I got lucky though... I think it's impossible to get away from KK with 100BBs in a 6-handed game. I like the way my opponent played here, he just got really unlucky...

Time to play some more
