So I'm gonna start a blog here on CR for a couple reasons. One being, so family can track my poker progress, but the main reason is so I can better hold myself accountable for my play and results. At the moment I'm currently grinding out 2-4NL after taking a shot at 5-10NL and running absolutely horrible. I've actually been running pretty bad going on about three months now, and am hoping October will be a turn around. Not that I've been playing that great either, but after 70k hands of gettin pimp slapped by the poker gods, it's pretty hard to maintain my A game.
So I'd like to start off by stating some of my poker weanknesses and strengths. I believe I play on a very high level when I'm playing my A game. I really do think I can beat 5-10NL for a pretty good winrate right at this moment. However, I want a pretty good bankroll cushion so I'm gonna put off moving up in limits for a month or two. My biggest weakness is tilt control. I can go long periods of time without tilting, but it seems like once I've reached the breaking point my takes a turn towards random bluffs and bad call downs. I really need to work on this... and if anyone has any suggestions I'd be open to hearing them. I do have a plan in motion though, and hopefully I can rid myself of this flaw.
Goals for the next month:
1: Play 1500 hands a day, 5 days a week, or about 30k hands this month.
2: Go the gym 5 days a week (on all of my poker days), and make a conscious effort to eat healthy.
3: For October my goal is to make 12-15k grinding 2-4NL. Almost all of this will be added to my bankroll, as I just cashed out enough money to get me by until the end of the year. I do plan on taking out an extra $500 if I hit my goal though, to buy an xbox 360 (got to stay motivated, right?).
4: Starting today I'm gonna hit up a yoga class as part of my tilt control solution. I've always heard good things about yoga and hopefully it will help with the stress and keep my mind clear and sharp.
5: I plan on moving back up to 5-10NL mid November or the begining of December... I want to have a 30k bankroll to go back at it, so basically, it's whenever I reach this point.
That's pretty much it. I plan on posting ALL my major hands in this blog, especially my Allins and hands I played poorly after every session. This is a another major part of holding myself accountable. Might not play today... but I'll definitly have another post on here tomorrow with a progress report, and a couple of hands to think about.
