Back in the blog business

Alright... Its been a very long time since I blogged, but I feel the need to start this thing back up. Partly because I really feel my poker game has gone to the next level, and I want to document my rise to the top... HOLLA!

The past 2 months I've been playing all heads up poker and running absolutely horrible... like I can't ever remember it being this bad. The last 46k hands I'm running 37 buyins below expectation. I started out at .25-.50NL, and finally got myself bankrolled to play $.5-1. I've had to completely start over because my entire roll was in Arctic poker and apparently they've gone busto. I filled out some paperwork to see if I can get some of my money back, but I don't know whats happening with that. They were supposed to go to court June 3, and if anyone has details on the situation I'd appreciate you filling me in.

Anyways, I plan on using this blog to vent and write about life... so yea, I'll be checking in every now and again. I'm out for now. -Efeazy2sheazy

Change of plan

So I was planning on using this blog for hand review, but I've decided that it's just too big of a hassle. I review my hands after every session, and there is really no need to repost them. The plan now is just to use this as a way to vent about poker and update how I've been doing...

As far as the month, I've played about 10k hands and am up $3700. I really have not been playing well, hence it taking me so long to write my second entry. I've been upset with the way I've played this first week, but the last couple days I've played a little better. I think I'm running at about 5BB/100 playing 7k hands @ 2-4 6max, and 3k hands at 2-4 heads up.

One thing I am excited about is 8 tabling. The past couple days I've been playing 8 tables a lot and I actually think I've been playing better doing it... It's fun to just grind it out and play solid poker sometimes. It also cuts down the amount of time I have to play to log my 1500 hands a day to 2 hours. So that's it for now... looks like I'm definitly on pace to hit the low end of monthly goal of $12k. Hopefully I'll continue to improve my play and make a little more. Im out for now, peace.

Setting Goals

So I'm gonna start a blog here on CR for a couple reasons. One being, so family can track my poker progress, but the main reason is so I can better hold myself accountable for my play and results. At the moment I'm currently grinding out 2-4NL after taking a shot at 5-10NL and running absolutely horrible. I've actually been running pretty bad going on about three months now, and am hoping October will be a turn around. Not that I've been playing that great either, but after 70k hands of gettin pimp slapped by the poker gods, it's pretty hard to maintain my A game.

So I'd like to start off by stating some of my poker weanknesses and strengths. I believe I play on a very high level when I'm playing my A game. I really do think I can beat 5-10NL for a pretty good winrate right at this moment. However, I want a pretty good bankroll cushion so I'm gonna put off moving up in limits for a month or two. My biggest weakness is tilt control. I can go long periods of time without tilting, but it seems like once I've reached the breaking point my takes a turn towards random bluffs and bad call downs. I really need to work on this... and if anyone has any suggestions I'd be open to hearing them. I do have a plan in motion though, and hopefully I can rid myself of this flaw.

Goals for the next month:

1: Play 1500 hands a day, 5 days a week, or about 30k hands this month.

2: Go the gym 5 days a week (on all of my poker days), and make a conscious effort to eat healthy.

3: For October my goal is to make 12-15k grinding 2-4NL. Almost all of this will be added to my bankroll, as I just cashed out enough money to get me by until the end of the year. I do plan on taking out an extra $500 if I hit my goal though, to buy an xbox 360 (got to stay motivated, right?).

4: Starting today I'm gonna hit up a yoga class as part of my tilt control solution. I've always heard good things about yoga and hopefully it will help with the stress and keep my mind clear and sharp.

5: I plan on moving back up to 5-10NL mid November or the begining of December... I want to have a 30k bankroll to go back at it, so basically, it's whenever I reach this point.

That's pretty much it. I plan on posting ALL my major hands in this blog, especially my Allins and hands I played poorly after every session. This is a another major part of holding myself accountable. Might not play today... but I'll definitly have another post on here tomorrow with a progress report, and a couple of hands to think about.
