What's up everyone, Chuck Hoang here starting a Cardrunners blog. A little background information on me: I've been playing seriously since October 2009, playing uNL & SSNLFR exclusively. My older brother coached and staked me after I found a little success playing live and running up small bankrolls through cash and winning several thousand in online MTTs/SnGs. I found the transition to cash very tough and wasn't aware of how tough 100NL had become as opposed to several years ago, so my break-even style, a tragic shot at rush and postflop spew lead to a huge downswing, nearly causing me to quit Poker altogether.
I definitely could have run better but I almost certainly could have played a lot better. I just wasn't really thinking about the game and was simply playing my cards for a very long time. Though the end part of the graph doesn't look like a very impressive upswing, I'm proud of myself for dropping down to 25NL and deciding to try and make 2011 the year I start to see some profit in Poker outside of soft live games and rakeback. Dealing with anxiety and depression was pretty tough for a while, which caused my volume to drop severely after the first half of the graph. But, I'm realistic about variance now and I'm no longer bitter about my results. I realize now that I'm not doomed to be a forever-losing player and can definitely improve through CR videos (which are excellent btw, thanks Full Tilt for the membership lol) and leakbusting a little more regularly. So far 2011 has been a year of improvement, with my winrate @ 25NL exceeding 3BB+ so far. I will be moving up levels everytime I have a 100K+ sample of 2BB+ winrate for the current limit and 40BIs for the next limit, with similar rules for dropping down.
The tables look pretty good and I have some big goals for the year, so I guess it's time to hit the tables. Feel free to comment and follow along. See you guys.
