Moving up

Blog by : Chip$$
0

So I have passed my 20K hands for this month, not doing too well. Finishing about even. Decided to move up, playing 2/4 is a little outside my ftp bankrolle, but I can get transfered more funds if I need to.

Played a short session today. + 600$

Which is okey, considering I was down like 5-600 right off the bat. Playing really loose, and was 3-betting non stop.

www.pokerhand.org/

Pretty interesting hand. I generally dont C-bet too much, maybe like 50 %. So I have to mix up my lines by checkraising some flops w/ nothing and w/ overpairs, sets etc. He litterally insta called my reraise, given his timing tells and VP$IP/PFR 26/12 I think his range includes alot of straightdraws and maybe some overpairs like 88-1010. So I fire half pot on the turn, which I think is a good bet as it dosent make him fold his straightdraws and at the same time dosent comit me to the pot. He insta calls again, now im about 80% certain he has a straightdraw, wouldnt he at least think about it with 88-1010? Given my read the best play is to check call the river most of the time. He insta fires out a big bet, and I call expecting to be right more than enough to make it profitable.

www.pokerhand.org/

I cold call in position w/AQs which I do maybe 40% of the time, also he's got a little less than a full stack so I dont really wanna 3-bet and get 4-bet. Also it disguises my hand strength. I flop a flushdraw and minraises his standard C-bet, I got his handrange crushed and wanna give him rope to hang himself. Unfortunately for him, his inside and flushdraw is in bad shape.

My stats does lie a bit, I play pretty aggressive after the flop, and change up my gears. Maybe playing 17/15 1/3 of the session and 12/10 2/3 of the session.

Leaving for Brazil in 3 days, so will not be playing for a while. But when I come home I will be hitting the tables pretty hard. L8er guys.

Floating me= + EV

Blog by : Chip$$

Have to steam off a bit, for the first time in quite a while im pretty tilted. Just got murdered today.

www.pokerhand.org/ .Played it horrible. Nothing more to say, just straight out horrible. Liked the riverbet though.

www.pokerhand.org/ Float # 1

www.pokerhand.org/ Float # 2 (valuebet from me)

www.pokerhand.org/ This kinda tilted me, I hate his riverbet and I hate FullTilt.

www.pokerhand.org/ Standard, very enoying getting theese all the time.

www.pokerhand.org/ I couldnt help myself so I wrote "WP" in the chat, the he starts berating me, telling me how he OWNS me, and its my fault because I check the flop. WP indeed.

www.pokerhand.org/ I think this raps up my day perfectly

So things aren't going great, its really though staying positive, when you constantly are getting floated and they hit their 3 outer or whatever. Ended down 3 buyins or so. Not gonna play more today, maybe not for a while, just not motivated.

Hopefully I can cash out my Galfond and Sklansky bucks soon, I'm getting loaded.

The downside of variance

Blog by : Chip$$

People are really getting good at floping monsters in reraised pots vs me. Think I have to start folding overpairs.

www.pokerhand.org/

www.pokerhand.org/

www.pokerhand.org/

www.pokerhand.org/ I played this hand very poorly, I should either raise the flop and get it in, or check the turn. Bleh.

www.pokerhand.org/ This is AA, KK or AK spades every time vs this player. I like this fold.

www.pokerhand.org/ Hmm, tricky spot. If I just call I'm practicaly saying I've got a flushdraw. Don't like folding either.

Kinda brutal, however I'm confident I will recover. Haven't tilted to bad yet, maybe a buyin or two. I tend not to go on monkeytilt if I'm playing good. Its when I start playing donkishly I just spew buyins all over the place.

Looking forward to be playing 2/4, just a sample of what I'm missing. www.pokerhand.org/

New Week

Blog by : Chip$$

My trip to Brazil is coming up in only 10 days, can hardly wait. Gonna be really nice to just chill on the beach and play soccer, volleyball, tennis etc. Also have to fill up my iPod soon, some pointers? Mostly into punkrock and various rap music. Will also be bringing some music to relax as its gonna take forever to get there (flying to Amsterdam first, then its over to Sao Paulo).

Played a couple short sessions today which turned out to be a total of 2K hands. Played slightly more aggressive today, like 19/17. It was pretty crazy, got up 3 buyins fairly quickly, then lost 4-5, then grinded back up, only lose some incredible annoying hands towards the end. Meh. It's amazing how much they flop monsters when I actually have something when I reraise. When I have nothing they call, when I have overpairs they shove, leaving me to difficult decisions. Hate poker.

www.pokerhand.org/

Ahead of his range if it includes hands like AQ, KQ, QJ (which they obv are given his hand)

www.pokerhand.org/

Someone playing 40/23 aint gonna hit this flop too often, so I go for a CR . Horrible turn card and I still bet, very dissappointed with my play in this hand. Horrible turn bet/call. Ugh.

www.pokerhand.org/

Amazes me how bad some of them play, hopefully it starts to pay off soon.

www.pokerhand.org/

Diden't really pay attention to his stack preflop, dont normaly isolate shortstackers w/74s. Why he thinks AJo is good I dont know. On the flop I have 57% equity.

Ended up 1 1/2 buyin today, tried to find some hands I played well, however there weren't too many, just alot of theese

www.pokerhand.org/ ( Nasty flop though)

If he had payed attention he would have noticed the shortstack in the SB, and realised that i wouldnt reraise lightly. Lucky me.

Think I'm running a bit under expectations, my win rate is about 2,2BB/100 hands over 9K hands. Which kinda sucks. L8er guys.

So far I'm up 6 buyins in a week, seems like I'm playing good but just not winning my 80/20s and 70/30s. Hopefully things will change soon.

Will make a better post next time, just a little tired from playing and wanna get my mind of poker. L8er.

Nitty

Blog by : Chip$$
0

I played so nitty today, not sure why but I just felt like playing ABC poker and it really worked out for me. I think I will continue to play this tight if it continues to work out. Playing 1/2 is just a grind anyway. Gonna play at least 20K hands before I move up, and hopefully make 4-6K doing so.

I'm pretty good at game selection so my tables generally have a pretty high VP$IP making it more profitably playing tight. When I start off a session I open up 16 tables and let them run for like 15 mins or so, and then using my PA HUD to filter out the ones with the highest [VP$IP-PFR]. Everything over 8 is acceptable . This is a great way to "find the fish" and maximize your profit.

Biggest hand of the session www.pokerhand.org/

I mix up my line here, 4-betting maybe 2/3 of the time and calling 1/3. Pretty standard though.

3-betting my UTG range w/AQo is like giving away your stack. www.pokerhand.org/

Biggest pot lost today www.pokerhand.org/

Weekend is coming up, going to a "Bad Santa" birthdayparty on friday and probably just chill on saturday. Hopefully it will be alot of fun. Also got back some of my exams, scored a 90% on my chemistry and a 82% on my physics.

First FTP session of my new bankrolle

Blog by : Chip$$
0

Got transfered 6K to my FTP account yesterday, played one session last night and one today. The games are a little bit different than Stars and Microgaming so I have to adjust to that. Ended down 1 buyin yesterday, nothing too special. And up 4 today, running pretty good and making some good plays. Played 1100 hands at 6 tabling the 1/2 NL games.

Results : + 667$ (playing a little too tight, wanna be more 19/17ish)

Poker made easy, luckily I hold up. www.pokerhand.org/

Don't like my flop play or the results www.pokerhand.org/

I think cold calling the reraise is better, it's unlikely that they have a set (3bet preflop?) so against his range I think the best play is calling and letting the third guy in, if he still folds there will be 180 in the pott on the turn, enough to making it all go in, the only bad cards that can come are three aces, three queens (kills my action) and a ten, jack or a king. But given that there are 180 in the pot ( or 224) I'm sticking it in regarless of the what the turn bringes.

Good bluff vs bad players, good bluff vs nits, leak vs good players. www.pokerhand.org/

His line is so weak, I fire the river becuase he insta called the turn. His most likely holdings being a small pair with a diamond .Fortunately he folds. Against a thinking player I would never make this bluff, as my range is so small here. I either have a flush or I'm bluffing. And given the he knows he has taken a weak line preflop and on the flop he should look me up a little lighter. I also bluff this vs regulars that are 12 tabling and probably folds AA, AK.

Tight fold? I think it's best, but not totally sure though. www.pokerhand.org/

Going to the gym now, hopefully HSP will be finished downloading when I get home.

Also I really recommend reading OMGClayAikens article www.bluffmagazine.com/onlinefeature/gbucks.asp

Finished my exams yesterday, I think it went pretty well, eventhough I was unfortunate enough to get ill during my chemistry exam.

Will be playing alot of poker until december 20. Then me and my familly will travel to Brazil

Gonna be playing 1/2 NLHE on Full Tilt . Starting with a 4K$ bankrolle, hopefully I'll grind that up to about 8-10K playing at least 15K hands.

Horizontal line

Blog by : Chip$$

So I'm having a hard time kicking in some nice profits. It just seems as I win a buyin in one session, and loose it at another...But I'm gonna play like 10K hands more until I check my Pokertracker for obvious leeks.

1. Mindgames vs donks

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1661157

2. Hands that destroy my tiny profit.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1661184

3. What he is doing preflop I dont now, but he played it perfect after the flop. Lucky me though.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1661190

Gonna be playing less this week, as I have some exams in chemistry and math coming up, and I really wanna do well. Wish me luck.

Prates.

Quick Update.

Blog by : Chip$$

Played some 1/2 PLO on stars- Up 350$ after 400 hands.

Played some 050/1 NLHE on BetOnBet (microgaming network) , played great I think, got unlucky a few times, however thats how it goes sometimes.

This guy lost around 6 buyins in 20 min, he got stacked by everyone but me.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1655377

I actually like my line here in this spot, was pretty sure he would bet the turn, though I did it mostly to mix up my play, as I sometimes CR-bluff the flop and give up on the turn. Im not sure if I like his play or not, I think by jamming the flop he shuts out all the hands he is beating and only getting action from a set or two pair. Where he has about 40% equity. (Pokerstove).

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1655393

Ended down 1/2 a buyin on BetOnBet.

Going to play some live poker tonight, and hitting the clubs tomorrow night. Even thogh there aint too much to do in Oslo for thoose under 20...

L8er guys.
