Martius?

The name of March comes from ancient Rome, when March was the first month of the year and called Martius after Mars, the Roman god of war. In Rome, where the climate is Mediterranean, March is the first month of spring, a logical point for the beginning of the year as well as the start of the military campaign season.

So as March was a good time for the Romans to start their military campaign season it seems there would be no better time to start my first serious month in the cash game department. Last month I played semi serious and got in about 10k hands over 15 days playing two tables at 10NL and pretty much broke even by the end. I'd like to think of myself of a some what decent thinking player but I've obviously got alot of improving to do. In the past I've mainly played sit and goes online and I used to play pretty much every day when I was in school and still play some live games every now and again. Since then I've read quite alot of literature, signed up to cardrunners and hopefully some what improved as a player and we'll see if I can actually win at the microstakes this month.

So my goals for this month are as follows:

20k Hands at 10NL.

Get to Silver on the Full Tilt Iron Man promotion.

Make some profit. 5BB/100 is realistic I think.

Earn the full $100 bonus on Full Tilt by March 20th.

Read Harrington on Cash Games Vol.1 and 2.

So thats it for now. Thanks for reading and see you at the tables.

Tim.
