I keep looking for something that I did right in this hand and I don't see it. I just happened to get lucky that I was right about him having Ax and should never have made the call on the turn after he raised my 1/2 pot bet on the turn. Hands like these are why I continue to struggle with the game. In the heat of battle, going with the gut usually costs me yet I continue to do it. Someday I hope the discipline will come to let these pots go rather than risk getting felted twice within 30 minutes.

I don't know if anyone will read this, but I've decided to start posting a few interesting hands from my Monday night session. The first one really bummed me out, but after that I turned my game around and started being a bit more aggressive and I more than made up for the loss of this hand. In retrospect I should have shoved postflop to protect against the flush, so this is my own fault. I like to have a tight image and tried to milk this pot as much as possible. There was no way I was chasing him from his set , but I still played this one pretty badly. I got the villain back about 10 hands later as he bluffed at a large pot and was called down - not a smart call mind you but it was nice to be right about his starting hand range in the latter case.
