I'm back, currently building a BR at cake poker (very slowly)

Blog by : BeastFromTheEast

After my primary sites got closed I had quit playing for some time, but I noticed that I had a small BR at cake poker and decied to try and build a BR up from 4NL there. I've decied to get some coaching while the rates all seem super reasonable. Pretty sure at some point I'll make another deposit to have at least a 10NL BR. I'm just not to keen on making a large deposit as I'm a US player and I'm not confident that my investment will not be taken by some government agency.

Warning political rant of uniformed asshole:
Land of the free, only it's among the only lands where you cannot play internet poker. The other countries who do not allow internet poker I assume are mostly like North Korea in that you're really not free to do anything. My question is what asshole is thinking that this legislation is "keeping us safe." Safe from what? I could do with a lot less of this governemnt trying to "keep me safe" shit. I'll take my chances. What a bullshit legislation, land of the free, only other countries are living a more free lifestyle. Should be "Land of the free: except for a bunch of other shit you can only do in other lands." I really hope we see a significant change in government soon. A republican in office would not be that significant imo, even though I hate Obama it really wouldn't matter as I hated Bush as well. I hope Ron Paul gets in though, as I think he is radical enough that it would be a significant change in government like him or not.

Hello,

If there is anyone in the cardrunners community that would like to exchange hand histories, sweat sessions, talk poker, ect. Feel free to PM me. After a large downswing and large withdraw I'm back playing 10NL. I'd like to grow my BR up from here and build a network of people that have similar goals and that can help each other. If you play lower or higher it's perfectly fine too, I'd love to here from you.

I guess that wasn't my biggest day...

Blog by : BeastFromTheEast

I'm pretty happy with my results thus far, as I type I'm tying to import this months hands into my new database. I'm up to 2,350 with the rakeback and some bonus loot which was about 400.

My import worked! My biggest day was 600.47 not 375 or whatever. My hands finally came up that fell though the cracks. Obviously, I ran like Usain Bolt.

This is the rest of the month so far. Hopefully I can keep plugging away successfully and I can be taking measured shots at 100NL at a 3K BR.

My new best cash day

Blog by : BeastFromTheEast

So I had my biggest losing day followed by my biggest winning day. The problem is my HEM is not tracking all my hands for some reason. Yesterday I played a long session where I got coolered a lot reflected I lost $80 but when I checked my balance I was down a lot more. Needless to say I was pretty concerned. I blame this on my computer troubles which are becoming worse so I'll have address the issue as soon as I can afford to drop $1500-2000. Other than that I bounced back and had my biggest today, my HEM says $375 but who knows with the import glitch. This is pretty crappy as I like to keep accurate records of how I'm doing. All I know is my BR is now up to 1,777 and I have 240 in rake coming back to me as well. So despite the speed bumps things are going pretty good.

Best day to date

I had stumbled for a couple days trying to play looser and put myself in tough spots. I'm sure it cost me some -ev, but I'm really interested in learning as much as I can right now. I also had a long break even stretch.

Month so far

Hopefully I can get a new PC soon.

Ended a good day at 50NL

Blog by : BeastFromTheEast

This was the result of today even though I got stacked set over set deep and got into a weird spot with AA. It's nice to run good. My BR is now at $1,300.

This was the set over set boo!

No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) - Hold'em Manager Hand Converter from HandHistoryConverter.com

Button ($32.85)
SB ($138.96)
BB ($75.77)
Hero (UTG) ($114.50)
MP ($88.40)
CO ($68.35)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 6, 6
Hero bets $1.75, 3 folds, SB calls $1.50, BB calls $1.25

Flop: ($5.25) 10, 3, J(3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($5.25) 6(3 players)
SB checks, BB bets $4.25, Hero raises $16.50, 1 fold, BB raises $27.75, Hero raises $84.75, BB calls $42.02 (All-In)

River: ($153.29) A(2 players, 1 all-in)

Total pot: $153.29

:(

Results:
BB had J, J (three of a kind, Jacks).
Hero had 6, 6 (three of a kind, sixes).
Outcome: BB won $149.79

Tricky AA spot.

No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) - Hold'em Manager Hand Converter from HandHistoryConverter.com

Button ($129.70)
SB ($93.60)
BB ($146.71)
Hero (UTG) ($134.70)
MP ($52.95)
CO ($48.25)

Villain was 86/16/1.5 basically never folded to an open and rarely to a cbet.

Preflop: Hero is UTG with A, A
Hero bets $1.75, 3 folds, SB calls $1.50, BB calls $1.25

Flop: ($5.25) 9, 3, 7(3 players)
SB checks, BB bets $2, Hero raises $6, 1 fold, BB calls $4

Turn: ($17.25) 9(2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $10.50, BB raises $21, Hero calls $10.50
I think betting this was a mistake, but so be it. I called the turn because it's a min raise and the board is drawy

River: ($59.25) 3(2 players)
BB bets $51, Hero ?
Total pot: $59.25

my month to date

I'm doing well but the sample size is still very small, which is fine because I don't think I really learn much playing too many tables anyway.

Back to 50NL

Blog by : BeastFromTheEast

I've been playing about 4 tables 6max at 25NL with some pretty good success this month. My volume is pretty weak, but I plan on putting in more. I'm more than slightly concerned that my PC has been crashing on a regular basis. I'll have to get a replacement or fix my current one as if I want to keep progressing levels, the tilt of taking a shot and having a crash on a great hand at a higher limit is probably going to prove to be very tilting, but it's an easy fix just not a cheap one. Maybe, I'll try to find a PC person to address this when I move into my house after renovations.

I took a shot yesterday and today at 50NL won 3 BI's. My roll is now $1,130, if things continue to go well I will play 50NL on a regular basis.

Hello guys,

Haven't done one of these in a while, certainly a lot has happened. I had a database review with mpethybridge from 2p2, that's when I realized that I must have run worse than I thought.

It was a good day

Blog by : BeastFromTheEast

Great session today even though I ran way above expectation, almost feels like I stole something. Still, I feel pretty good as this was all 15+ tables mostly 16-17. I think I've run just as bad in the past as I ran good today, so I guess it all balances out. The trick is to keep your head when your on the bad end of variance. It's strange as the site I'm on I'm not using a HUD because when I cascade the tables the HUD's are overlapping covering nearly every square mm of the table, it sucks. So what I've been doing is relying on the active players window when I've a really tough decision.

This was refreshing as I was on the bad side of variance yesterday losing 6 BI's and tilting my face off. So I quit then came back to the game after eating then watching an entire episode of Survivor Man and I won back 3. Playing a lot of hands you see the balance in variance, which is comforting. The tenth of the month and I've already logged 26K hands which is a lot for me. My goal of 50K hands this month almost seems too easy. I'll extend this number to 75K or so if I get to 50K in the middle of the month. I can't wait to see what I get for rake back at the months end.

2010 Goals

Blog by : BeastFromTheEast
0

Happy new year! So hear are some goals for the new year.

-Play more hands. I'd like to see myself play 50K a month, but I'm not going to be terribly upset to get 35 or 40k either.

-Play more tables. I think I can play more tables for longer periods of time or at least more short sessions.

-Control my reactions to losing better. Many a good $ was wasted by me on tilt when it was clear I would have came out on top for the session anyway had I just not tilted.

-Study the game more and try to post hands.

-Stop chatting. Why give away the info? This is less of a problem with the increase in tables.

-Play longer when winning and less when losing; currently do the opposite more often than not

-PLAY MORE HANDS!

I'll leave you with one of the doppest freestyle sessions I've seen recently. Why you ask? Black Thought, Eminem, and Moss Def...need I say more?
