Struggles at Beer Pong

0

Hey guys, been playing a lot of golf recently in between my grinding. My wife is out of town so a lot of time for both. So far up about 18 bi over the last 3 days, although I still have a lot to work on.

Man, I need to have my head examined. My buddies and I have a list of certain plays that we should not be doing without a very good reason, I definitely think that 5bet bluffing over a backraise is a good one to add to this list. Really poor play for me, especially at the time where everything was going extremely smoothly and I in no way needed to force this and try to win every play

Gross, I must say I really feel like I am getting to some of the regs I am playing with; some of the tougher regs that I was struggling with at the beginning of the month I feel like recently have just made some extremely poor plays in response to mine, so there is some consolation there

So this guy was totally insane, but even when I know he is going to lose his mind, I need to find a better spot than this to call off on the river. Just an absolutely horrendous play by me, and I'm sick to my stomach over how badly I played this river.

JJ < QQ against 40% 3bet from this position

Overall I think I am quite happy with the amount that I lost in this spot. I thought that his range consisted of AQ, AJ, and far less combos of TT, KK, and AK. I thought that his overwhelming range based on bet sizing and the battles we had in the past was the AQ/AJ and in particular AQ. Therefore I was also worried because I have check raised him on river in the past with big hands that he might not bet AQ, and I did not think a CR would be the best play, so I thought I could maximize value by donking river, a little unlucky

http://weaktight.com/4876863

Unlucky, have to say this was the most surprising hand he could have showed me here

http://weaktight.com/4876865

Unlucky board runout and strange play by my opponent, I can't say I am disappointed by any street that I played here though, honestly I think that he should be checking to fold river

http://weaktight.com/4876866
Amazing play by my opponent if this one is a bluff

http://weaktight.com/4876867

Tough to bluff him off the hand that I am trying to rep, I think this is a successful triple barrel because even when he hit his backdoor flush he just called, worried about my range

http://weaktight.com/4876868

unlucky

So some back story on this call, first of all this guy and I have battled a ton, we start tables together and we both know each other are capable of big bluffs and thin value. In this session he called me down with AJ on AK9xx when I had K9, he called me down with A4 on Axxxx button vs sb and I had AT for three barrels of value, so he is certainly aware that I can value bet thinly on these boards, as well as having some triple barrel bluffs in my range. Therefore I thought there were enough factors that would justify a call, but good play by him and I think a pretty unlucky spot given the history between us, particularly the more immediate history.

With the history, I think this is pretty standard, I also think against certain opponents even with this plan I would call their 3bet.

Even with AQ bb vs sb, I think this is a very good spot to get the money in preflop

http://weaktight.com/4880706

Probably a pretty suspect call preflop that definitely backfires on me

Failed hero call but I think that is ok

http://weaktight.com/4880710

Pretty standard line with an unlucky board run out

Super unlucky board runout here

Literally I am not sure Ive ever been more frustated with a single play in my life. First of all, how many hands have I posted or talked to my friends about where I bet small for value and then called off thinking they were exploiting this line??? They are exploiting me 1/20 times, and then when I combine this with the fact that my session was going so smoothly, it makes no sense to make any other play but fold. I really can't imagine how many times I have made small bets for value and then called justifying it in my own head that I bet small so he can exploit me. There are about 5 regs I could imagine making this bluff, and I had no evidence that this player was capable of it. I was totally tilting after this play even if I was winning a lot of buyins

http://weaktight.com/4880714

Unlucky

http://weaktight.com/4880715

So at the time I gave him a range of 88-TT, Kjss, Kqss, and a lot of heart draws, more than normal, I thought there was a small chance he could bet Kjss for value, bet because my checking range is so weak with the lower pairs, and was really only worried about losing to KQ, so I like my line and pretty unlucky here.

http://weaktight.com/4880716

Ughh, cant believe this is the hand he showed up with, and I really like my triple barrell against this range

http://weaktight.com/4880717

I COULD NOT BE MORE DISGUSTED WITH MYSELF! First of all, I have written a lot about overbets from fish being nutted hands. Secondly, I know that I need to be folding to this hand unless there is a ton of evidence against it. Even though my absolute value hand is so strong, I think that he has two pair plus so often here, I absolutely need to fold here, I am so disgusted here that even though I won 5 bi on this day, I was so mad at myself.

So I was playing beer pong tonight and I am still clueless as to why I am so bad at this game. I used to play AAU bball, certainly can drink more than most people, and just am much worse at this game than I should be. It drives me nuts my overall record at beer pong throughout my life. It feels like I hit the cup's edges like crazy. Any tips you guys can give me?

Going to dinner with my parents for my mom's bday, and then eating crabs and grinding the rest of the night, gl at the tables

Salud!
