Bill Clinton could not be more correct,
its arithmetic. This economy while incredibly complicated at the
same time is rather simple, President Obama and the Democrats are
spending money we don't have. They are increasing spending to
federal programs, created massive programs with the stimuli and
obamacare, and then expect to get the money back from the top 1%
while at the same time creating a larger reliance on the federal
government with 47 million people on food stamps.
While I am the first to admit that Bill
Clinton is the greatest politician since Reagan, there were some
parts of his speech that simply left me stunned. First of all, this
reliance on the figure of 4.5 million jobs created is simply false
and something that just about every speaker has used at the DNC.
Both of these links illustrate this point:

Secondly his statement that under the
Romney/Ryan plan, medicare would run out in 2016 is just a joke. We
all understand that medicare is something that will not be around
forever, but Obama is simply content in doing nothing to solve a long
term problem in order to achieve reelection, where the republicans
want to solve huge issues not when they become impossible, but now.
Overall I thought this speech was a
compelling argument for Clinton to have a third term, but based on
our sacred laws he is forced to rally for Obama and I think he failed
miserably. While he is compelling, I think he did absolutely nothing
to lobby for Obama to keep his job. I was not convinced at all that
his failures could not possibly be avoided and if anything it felt
like a Clinton campaign speech. I believe like Charles Krauthammer
stated afterwards that his weak attack at medicare could be combated
by Paul Ryan in five minutes.
The rest of the convention in my
certainly partisan belief has been a massive failure for the liberal
party. I have heard the Governor of my birth state Martin O'Malley
say last Sunday that we are not better off than we were 4 years ago,
than on Monday say obviously we are better off than four years ago.
I have heard the Governor Massachusetts who currently has an over 1
billion dollar deficit after Romney left office with a surplus that
Romney had failed to create jobs when no one in Mass was looking for
jobs and stated that "Obama is the most pro Israel president." I
have heard a major platform of the convention being "government
owns us all". I have seen Sandra Fluke be a top of the hour 10pm
speaker who is advocating birth control as a voting issue, although
it is free in most states and commits at most 20 dollars a month, as
well as advocating sex changes as part of a government
responsibility. I have seen speakers outside of Bill Clinton bring
up to raucous applause issues of gay marriage and pro choice that are
far from the majority views of the American people. I have seen the
Democrats leave God off of their overall program, as well as leaving
off Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. When they attempted to amend
these blatant problems, they met with a party that has lent itself to
the fringe elements of liberalism and has been overwhelmed by them:

(did anyone think that was 2/3 of the
vote???)
I have seen the DNC chairwoman openly
lie about how Israel feels towards a Republican administration and
immediately have the Israeli ambassador mentioned vehemently deny
this lie:

I have seen a Florida Democratic
Chairman say that Christians are anti Judaism
http://www.theblaze.com/stories/anti-christian-hate-speech-spews-from-the-palm-beach-democratic-chair/
I have seen Michelle Obama who
certainly spoke about her husband as an excellent family man and well
intentioned individual also portray him as someone that none of the
American people know. She stated that "whether democrat or
republican, Obama does not care in order to come to a solution".
Of course most would argue this is not the case based on his first
four year of completely partisan politics, especially when he invited
Ryan to a speech in which he completely criticized his stance on all
economic views, as well as insult a sitting Supreme Court during the
State of the Union. While she was compelling when talking about
Obama as a person, she failed miserably when she ventured into the
political forum. In fact Michelle, and her husband, and her father
that she talked so effectively about were all products not of the
American system, but American exceptionalism. They worked their
asses off to achieve what they have, and they were not given these
things through government but by their own ambitions, talent, family,
and ingenuity. In the first two days, the Democrats have trotted out
a plethora of social advocates, ranging from the leader of planned
parenthood, a few advocates for socialized medicine, and even a woman
that is not an legalized American citizen.
All of these attempts are focused at
taking the American people off the core issues of the economy, the
lack of improvement over the four years, the failed promises of
Obama, the inadequacy of leadership, and the off the chart spending
problems. I believe firmly this is not an election over the verdict
of Roe vs. Wade, the right for gays to marry, or the rights of women
in the work place; this is an election about the state of our
economy. This is an election about the future of our country. Will
our futures be controlled by the government, or will we control our
own future?
Btw, I am more than open to all debates
from either side, and am not afraid whatsoever to speak my mind on
all issues whether politically correct or not.
Salud!
