Hey guys, just got back from my wife's
cousin's wedding. Was really great except for the awful experience
with United Airlines, never fly that company, I have now had two
flights outright canceled by them and another delayed 6 hours out of
5 flights. Anyway, I just learned earlier today that there were
problems with my leakfinder video. In particular the footage simply
did not live up to the quality of Cardrunners in terms of the
production quality. I am very sorry for this and this will not
happen again. Also please check out my other release this week that
deals with absolutely everything I know and believe in when it comes
to cbetting. I think it is one of my best videos and certainly one
of the most information heavy, I hope you enjoy it.
Recently, I like a lot of online
players have really struggled with the current landscape of online
poker. I probably wasted about 6 months immediately following FTP
problems last April by feeling sorry for myself which I have talked
about a lot in this blog. From there I have had up and down success
both live and online, finishing with the last 2 and half months which
have been the worst financially that I have ever faced in poker. It
sort of hit me in the last week or so if I do not dedicate even more
time and effort into my mental and overall game, I will not be
playing poker for a living for that much longer. That realization
actually has set me at ease a lot, realizing that I simply need to
stop feeling sorry for myself, enjoy the fact that I play a game that
I love for a living, and just grind my ass off. On the show
Deadliest Catch, I heard one of the captains say "if you can't find
the crab, you need to grind them", meaning that if you are not
catching a lot, you just need to outwork everyone else. This
obviously applies very well to poker and in cash games if you are not
running well or playing your best, you need to make money by working
harder than everyone else, grinding a lower winrate until the big
upswing hits and your luck turns around. Today I had my first 4
figure day in about a month and a half, pretty sad for a guy that
does this for a living, but I think this will be a huge turning point
in my career. My mindset throughout the 4k hands was amazingly
positive, and I think this new outlook can do nothing but good for
me. Here are the losing hands:

Certainly not an auto get it in spot,
but the dynamics between all of the regulars at this table during the
afternoon session was some of the most aggro I have ever seen at
stakes below 400nl. This guy was mixing it up a lot despite some
more mild stats (only 3betting 6% from button). I think I failed to
take into account just how aggro to of the regs were at the table and
how he was adjusting to them by playing very aggro but might not be
playing the same style against me, as well as the fact that he could
have just been running very hot to play as aggro as he was preflop.
Not a big mistake but I think a small one.

Another pretty close spot here. This
was very early on in session, and with no important history he was
3betting 12% from button. I opted to get in TT here, which I think
is a small mistake considering how polarized he likely is from this
spot. I think I can profitably call and make better postflop
decisions than he can.

Ever see a reg call a 5bet AI with
A7ss? Me neither. Definitely one of those poker moments I can build
on though because for the first time in honestly months, I suffered a
brutal suckout, and it didn't faze me one bit. I went on to win 4 or
5bi from this one crazy reg.

Super standard play I think against a
40/3 over 20 hands. I was very excited to get a lot of money in on
the flop and turn. On the river his timing was pretty weird and it
spooked me enough to check back even though I think its really close
between betting and checking back river. From now on I know a donk
is very dangerous from this guy.

Against an aggro fish, I think this is
the best line, and even though he calls the flop with some Ax hands
here, I think he has enough bluffs/overvaluing his one pair hands
here to make this a profitable if not thin call
http://weaktight.com/4802938
Unlucky, I had notes on this guy he
made the same play with Q8o in the past

Worst call of the day here from me
http://weaktight.com/4802940
My reads were on today even if this one
didn't pan out
http://weaktight.com/4802942
I wasn't planning on bluffing against a
very call happy fish at all, but this board was simply too good to
resist. I think there is some merit to potentially just shoving turn
here, I need to think more about that.
http://weaktight.com/4802944
I think pretty standard by both of us
here.
http://weaktight.com/4802945
FOLD PRE GRANT, I deserved to lose this
one.

Pretty standard here

Next Saturday I am really looking
forward to the UFC title fight between Anderson Silva and Chael
Sonnen. Yes I know Silva is the greatest MMA fighter of all time,
and Chael can be a pretty big asshole at times and is big time
overmatched in skill, but this one is a must see. First here is a
link to the first fight where Sonnen absolutely dominated 23 of the
25 minutes (I think he even had a 10-8 first round), but lost to an
amazing triangle submission by Silva when both guys were near
exhaustion.
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mma-cagewriter/
The odds have Silva as about a -300
favorite, which I honestly think is quite low. When you combine that
with the fact Silva is undefeated in the UFC, has lost probably 2
rounds in his career to anyone other than Sonnen, and his absolutely
dominating overall record and skill set this seems like a no brainer.
But this fight is exceptionally interesting. First of all, Sonnen
is an absolute wrestling beast, he has trained with the US olympic
team, and the only question mark ever about Anderson is that he might
not be able to deal with dominant wrestlers (he lost 4 rounds to
Sonnen in their first fight and lost the first round to Dan
Henderson). Secondly there is some true hatred by both guys. Sonnen
has made a living over insulting everyone even remotely connected to
Silva, including his wife. This sort of hatred can definitely change
fights and change gameplans. Realistically I would not be surprised
if Silva knocks him out in 2 minutes, but I have rewatched the first
fight many times and Sonnen had absolutely no problem taking him down
every round. Either way you guys can't miss this fight, and please
seek out any Chael Sonnen interview, the dude cracks me up definitely
brings a WWE type hype to the fight. He also owns one of my favorite
quotes of all time:
"Even if I thought I
could get a submission I'm not laying underneath a grown man with my
legs spread on worldwide T.V. Some guys subscribe to that theory but
I am a Republican and we don't do that."
Salud!
