2500 6max Tourney

0

Hey guys, so far my vegas summer has really been a blast, have been having an awesome time hanging out with the guys, but my poker success has been nonexistent. I have not been playing my best online, something about being away from my home environment has sort of messed up my flow, and there is definitely a big room for improvement.

Today I played in the 2500 6max, really cool to be part of that tournament so many huge names and guys that I have a lot of respect for their games and have helped shaped my own game in small or larger ways like Giggy, Krantz, Irock, Stinger, to name a few. Just really disappointed in myself for my terrible performance. In truth I probably should not have played one hand in the first two and half hours, I didn't have two cards that in any way connected. Unfortunately, I tried to make something out of absolutely nothing, made a few ill advised bluffs, ran into some bad situations, and also got down on myself. My plan going in was to try to really use the first three levels to play like a cash game situation and this would be my biggest edge in the tournament. Instead, I was one of the tightest players at the table due to my cards, but also did not adapt to my image after getting caught with two bluffs, so I ended up playing rather weak tight poker which could not be further from my game. I ended up shoving Jtss for 9bbs in the middle of level 3 and getting surprisingly reshoved on by KJ which held. Just really down on myself for not bringing my A game to one of the biggest tournaments that I have played in the last year. Also just really disappointed in myself for allowing my early questionable bluffs to weigh on my mind, and was constantly thinking about my mistakes as opposed to concentrating on my opponents and looking for a good reshove spot.

Well 0 for 2 so far this year, the first tournament I was really pumped about my performance despite being completely card dead, so hopefully I can get back to that level while at the same time catching a few cards. The next week or so I am going to cut down on the partying and really grind a lot of hands. I also need to find a way to eat more healthy because the shit I have been eating and drinking is killing my body.

Root Alex (Zaitsev) on tomorrow, he made it to day 2 shortstacked, but has been playing some very good poker and has run into some terrible luck, hopefully tomorrow he gets robusto.

Salud!
