Still Running Well, And a Little Disturbed

Blog by : _johnnydrama_

Hello Guys,

I just got done putting in another session of poker today. I have been running super hot and won another few thousand today. It is nice to be on a heater but I need to be careful to not get caught up in the moment. I am really happy with my progress but I refuse to get in over my head. I am going to stick with 2-4 NL and 3-6 NL. I really enjoy these games and I think my style of poker works really well for these games.

I was a little disturbed with some developments today. I read Carolines blog the other day regarding her run in with a homeless man. I personally thought it was a good blog entry and for people to say anything to her is quite insane. When I looked at her blog entry for yesterday and she said that she deleted her previous blog because of asshole remarks I was shocked. I then see a familar blog commentar and he was once again up to his old tricks of babbling about stupid things and bein quite ignorant. I decided to write an immature but standard post basically saying he needs to stop bein ignorant or "I will knock his teeth down his throat." He then proceeds to flip out and babble more and more and even try to post a picture of me. This guy truly needs to stop his antics because it is pretty disturbing and pathetic.

Well I am exhausted and am off to bed

Since LL updated, I will too

Hello CR Members,

I have not blogged since I busted from the Main Event so I figured I would stop in and say hey. I am going to copy off my companion Latestlines and throw out a bunch of random thoughts.

First, if you are a St. Louis Cardinal fan just let a loud yell out of your system right now. The past week has been so frustrating, our bullpen is pathetic and I was at the game this past week and had AMAZING seats. I could honestly give any player in the dugout a massage, instead I wanted to jump over the railing and fight our closer. I never considered myself a fair weather fan and I still dont but its something about people getting paid a BUNCH of money and not doin their job that just gets me to my last nerve. With that said, I petition to bring back Adam Wainright as our closer. If you dont know who he is, well he is our injured starter who is due back in a week that was our closer when we won the WORLD SERIES just a mere two years ago.

Another thing that angers me is SNG land. I agree with LL in the fact that the players are soooo awful but if you cant win your 60-40's it becomes a very frustrating game. I have been killing cash games since coming home from Vegas and I think I am up about 20k or so which is pretty large since I am playin 2-4 NL but I have dabbled in the 3-6 and 5-10 NL games. I think I am going to get back in the SNG saddle soon but I had to take a must needed break.

Is anyone else extremely excited for the new season of Entourage to begin?? I am! September 7 baby! Does anyone know when Californication begins? I am tired of just being able to be lazy for half an hour when Weeds is on.

I have seen 2 movies since I got back to St. Louis. I saw Dark Knight the night it came out and it was a CIRCUS at the theatre. I saw a bunch of batman and robin costumes and a couple Joker ones too. I honestly just laughed and said the same line my buddy Brian said when he got knocked out of the Main Event..."This is a circus, where do they find these monkeys?" Overall though, this is a must see movie. I also saw Step Brothers tonite. I dont know what it is but Will Ferrell can make me laugh like no other person I know. The guy is a genius!

I finally would like to thank everyone who followed my WSOP Main Event progress and gave me a congrats when it came to an end. It really does bother me though, when people say the line of "What did you do,grind into the money?(aka gambler) Because that is the last thing I did but I just wasnt going to give my chips away. For your information gambler I shoved all in over Mike Matusows raise with AK when we were 3 off the money and he folded AQ face up. Overall, the Main Event was really frustrating. I lost a 120k pot with KK vs 10-9 of spades with about 823 people left in the tourney. I never had over 72k in chips when the average stack on Day 1 was around 83k. I played the best poker of my life for 30 hours before it came to an end when I shoved my 49k stack over a button raise with 77 and was called by AQ. The guy hit a Q and my run was over. The Main Event was an amazing learning experience and I would love to thank Taylor for this opportunity. It was my third year in the WSOP Main Event and my first cash. (My third WSOP ever)

I believe that is all, nice talking to everyone

OUT IN 639

Grinded into the money with 59k in chips, took a round of blinds and got in with 77 vs AQ. A Queen fell on the flop and I was out in 639 for $21,300. It was a good learning experience, until next time....

Still in the Main Event...Day 3 here I come

Blog by : _johnnydrama_

I am still in the Main Event.. I am sitting at 44,300 in chips and am hoping to chip up. I would be considered a smaller stack but I still feel confident that I can play with this type of stack. We will probably have to chop tomorrows field in half to make the money so it is still a long way to go! I will try and keep everyone up to date. Adios

Well Hello Ladies and Gentlemen

Blog by : _johnnydrama_

It has been forever! Honestly I have been extremely lazy this past month but TONS of things have gone on. In my last blog I spoke about going to New York and seeing some Yankees games and then coming directly to Vegas. I have done both of those things so I will talk about those trips below.....

New York was a lot of fun. I dont think I realized how HUGE of a city it truly is. I got to see Times Square but other than that and go to Yankee games, I didnt do to much. Time Square was basically exactly what I expected it to be, large and crowded. I had to see ESPN Zone and the M and M store. I ended up buying about 4 pounds of M and M's...I dont think I even made it thru one pound of them. My girlfriend and I were fortunate enough to have great seats at both Yankee games. The weather was soooooo HOT! New York was setting record highs for that time of year, but it didn't take away from the games too much. It was also fun to ride the subway to the stadium. I always heard horror stories about the subways in New York but I never once felt in danger. My girlfriend and I stayed at the Roosevelt hotel and I must say I highly recommend it. It was pretty close to everything I really wanted to see and about a block from Grand Central Station so getting around was extremely easy. Mortons Steakhouse was also just right down the street and I love their Cajun Ribeye so I was pretty pumped about that. I also was able to meet up with Squintandgo and his girlfriend while in New York. We went to an Italian restaurant and the rissotto (sp?) was absolutely amazing! Overall, it was a fun trip and it was extremely cool to see Yankee Stadium in real life.

VEGAS BABY VEGAS! I am here now and have been here for the past month. I truly love Vegas but after awhile a lot of things get old. I find myself blacking out and playing the great game of BlackJack with my girlfriend a lot of nights when we go out. All the roomies love going to strip clubs but I am just over them right now. The only thing I miss about strip clubs are the stupid stories about cracked out strippers and my buddies being idiots. I would much rather drink for free and play blackjack, my girlfriend loves the game and I love meeting new people so it works out pretty well. As far as poker goes, I played the 2k event. I lasted 3 levels and then in level 4 I got it in with AQ on a Q53 board 2 diamonds against 10-9 of diamonds and the guy smashed his flush on the turn. It was only a 6k pot but it still bothered me. That was the only other tournament I played but now I am in the Main Event. I made it past Day 1. I have 25,325 in chips and I hope to chip up tomorrow. It was a pretty boring day of poker for the most part, I misplayed some hands but also played some hands great. I had all my chips in the middle once with AK vs JJ and smashed a K on the river! One time BABY! Maybe that win was a sign for things to come??? We will find out tomorrow I guess. Other than tournaments, I have been doing pretty well in cash games. I don't have exact numbers since being out here but I do know I am doing well. I have also started to play some PLO since being down here. Being around Stinger has given me the desire to play the game. I have also been playing some SNG's to practice tourney like structures for the main event. My heads up game right now is pretty good as well so if I make the FInal 2 in the Main Event, GOOD GAME THAT GUY!. Well I am off to bed and when I wake up I am heading to the Rio for Day 2. I will update my blog tomorrow, I SWERE to give everyone an update! Adios Guys!

Long time no talk Gents and Ladies

Blog by : _johnnydrama_

Hello Everyone! IT has been a long time but I truly doubt that anyone really really misses my blog but I am sure I have some loyal viewers out there so this blog is for them haha.

Anyway my life has been sooooo busy as of late so I will try and cram everything into this blog but I doubt that will be the case because I am truly lazy.

I will start with school. My last blog said I graduated and I did. I probably havent looked so forward to something so much in my entire life. I am truly going to miss so many things about the college life but 5 years is enough. For starters I am going to miss my sleeping schedule. I loved waking up at 3PM, working out, eating dinner, and then grinding till about 4am. And then I would just repeat that over and over. I am sure that schedule wont change to much for a little while but I no longer will have the DINER to go to when I am drunk or my bar HARPOS to go to when I want to get drunker than I could ever imagine. People always say that your college years are the best years of your life, that statement could not be anymore true. What a time college was! I will never forget the friendships I devoloped and the amount of things I broke. :(

As far as poker goes, I am still playing the mixture of 2-4 NL, 3-6 NL, and 5-10 NL. I find the 5-10 NL games are much easier than the 2-4 and 3-6 games but I won't sit unless I am using good game selection. My goal was to go on a 20k heater about a month ago and I made it to 15k. I still have one week to meet this goal so I am rooting for a 5k week. I am enjoying poker a lot more than I have before and I think that my results are showing that. I am playing a lot better and am playing against a wider range of players. I also have been playing SNG's because I am trying to prepare myself for the satellites down in Vegas.

I will only be in St. Louis for another week and then it is off to New York and then Las Vegas. I leave June 6 for New York then leave there to go to Vegas on June 10. In New York, I plan on going to 2 Yankee games, a Broadway show and being an absolute tourist. I have never been to New York so if anyone has any suggestions on where I should visit or eat please let me know. I am also really excited about Vegas and eating at Nove ( a restaurant inside of the Palms). I honestly have never loved food this much. I am also excited to win my first WSOP bracelet ..this is my year, I am telling you now. I guess I am also excited to see GP, Wiggins, and LL2 again even though they are awful influences on me in regards to spending money.

Well I have so much more to say but I dont feel like typing, I think I need a personal assistant. Anywho, if I dont blog again wish me luck in Vegas. I am sure I will blog more when I am done there!

Goin to the NYC

Blog by : _johnnydrama_

Hey guys!

Graduation Update: 1-8 page paper, 1-Intimate Relationship test, and 1-Marketing test!

3 more things and I am a graduate! ONE TIME! Anyway I decided that before I go to Vegas this summer I am going to go to NYC for a few days and go to Yankee Stadium. Its the last year in the Bronx and I feel that I need to go see it before it no longer exist! If anyone has any suggestions on hotels where I should stay, I would love a few. I am not worried about cost but lets be realistic and stay between the 200-400 dollar a night range.

I found a great Jet Blue flight from NYC to Vegas so I am going straight there from New York which is very convenient. I am hoping for some great suggestions! Adios People

Crunch time

Blog by : _johnnydrama_

WOW the time is finally here and graduation is just around the corner! I know I keep talking about it in my blog but it is amazing on how time has flown by. I remember like it was yesterday when I was sitting in my freshman year dorm room grinding out 5 dollar SNG's and thinking that winning first place was the best thing ever because I would then be able to buy a round of shots when I went out.

My life has changed so much in the past 5 years and I believe it has been for the better. I have experienced so many things that I would have never gotten to if it wasnt for my fortunate luck in poker. I have made so many trips out to Las Vegas, I have traveled to the Bahamas, I have traveled to Aruba, I have made the fun road trips down to Tunica, and I have been able to go on awesome spring breaks every year. When I graduated from highschool, the only thing I could have predicted is that I would be on the 5 year plan in college, never in my life would I have predicted the success I have had in the poker world.

I am a firm believer that when an end comes (in this case, college), it makes someone look back at there past and really take it in. I have made some awful mistakes in these 5 years but I have also made some great decisions that have produced some excellent friendships and some unforgettable memories. People always say that college are the best years of your life and I will tell you this much, they have been for me!

I couldn't have accomplished everything I have without the support of my family and friends. My Mom, Uncle, and Grandma have been huge stability factors in my life and have always guided me in the right direction. My friends have always been there to keep me level headed by making me happy when I am down because of a 2 outer or when I am too happy and they need to tell me to cool down with the spending and buying another round of shots probably isn't necessary.

I am done with school work for this week, but I have an 8 page paper due on Monday, a final exam on Tuesday, and a final exam on Thursday and then I am a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia. AND then, on June 10th I am off to Las Vegas for a month and half. After graduation, I am going to put a lot of effort into poker but also into finding another job in the real world. I have decided that a life of poker is not for me, but that I am not going to settle for the first job that comes along. I believe to be successful in the world today, you not only have to be intelligent about the job you have but you also have to have a passion for it. I plan on putting out my resume to 5 companies that interest me and we will see what happens.

I also have began my Las Vegas training program. This semester has put me back into old habits of drinking often and eating poorly. For the next month, my goal is to lose 15-20 lbs and work out atleast 5 days a week. I will keep you updated on this progress but I believe that this goal is very obtainable.

A mini poker update for you guys....I am on a bit of a heater. I am up close to 14k in the past week. For right now, 2-4 NL is my game of preference and will remain my preference for awhile. Sorry but that is all the poker update your gonna get today.

Adios Gentleman

I GOT A HOUSE!! And some other random stuff...

Blog by : _johnnydrama_

So the day came on Sunday when I finally put a contract in on a house and it was accepted. The contract is contigent on me finding the proper financing and the owner of the home finding another house within 45 days but I don't foresee any of those being large problems. I could not be anymore excited for myself and I am really excited to enter this stage of my life. I need to figure out how to start uploading pictures in this blog so I can put up my pics of Disney and pics of my new house so for those who actually read this blog, how do I do it????

Finding a house has been a long process and when I try and mix this with school and a girlfriend, I have found myself extremely stressed out. I have a test today in Finance and a test on Thursday in Marketing but after that I am smooth sailing. I actually think that after I complete these tests, I probably only have 4 more things to do before I graduate. (3 test and 1 paper) Time has just flown by and it is soooo hard to believe that I am heading out to Vegas on June 10th and will be a graduate before I go!

I have done a pretty good job of sticking to my 2-4 NL goal in poker. I have played some 5-10 NL when the game is tooo juicy to pass up but I have stuck to my goal pretty well. I believe I am up about 4k this week. I am pretty excited about the poker I am playing right now but I am still leaking chips in wierd spots so I am also looking forward to getting out to Vegas and having Taylor and Andrew give me some pointers.

Well I am exhausted and this blog entry sucks but I feel like I got my point across pretty well......Adios everyone!
