159 is the magic number, as we are exactly that many eliminations from reaching the money bubble. With only about 12% of the field returning to play Day 4, only two players have eclipsed the 1M chip mark.
We entered the day with 10 names from the CardRunners community still chasing the $8.7 million dream. By the time the clock struck midnight at the Rio, we had only lost three of those players.
The story of the day, and possibly of the Event, is of CardRunners member COOLRUNNINGS and his incredible comeback. Here is his post in our WSOP Main Event Sweat thread in our forum:
i ran a bluff with a draw that got picked off by a boat, then got runner runner boated for a large pot, and to finish it off lost a 100k pot with AA to JJ. I got up to leave the convention center and my table yelled at me to comeback. I had 3k left at 1k/2k blinds and had to post the bb. I finished the day with 350k. Yesterday took 2 years off my life.
Here are the chip counts as we enter Day 4.
