CardRunners Pros continued their great play in Las Vegas, as Tournament Specialist Matt ‘jacksup’ Matros won his second WSOP Bracelet in Event #52: $2,500 Mixed Holdem.

Matt, a professional player from New York, overcame a tough final table including Noah Boeken, Brandon “norajean” Meyers, and Limit Specialist Matt “Hoss_TBF” Hawrilenko to win the $303,501.  Matt nursed a short-stack for a good portion of the tournament, but managed to chip away at the leaders during the Limit Holdem rounds and become chip leader when 3-handed.

He eventually eliminated Hawrilenko, a good friend of his, and found himself heads up with Jonathan Lane for the title.  The battle saw both players hold the chip lead at one point, but after a brave call with Top-Pair weak kicker, Matros had a chokehold on the bracelet.  His final hand was a preflop all in with Matros holding Ace-Ten offsuit and in dominating fashion over Lane’s Jack-Ten offsuit.  After a board of QQ544, Matros found himself with another bracelet, after breaking through last year in Event #12 Limit Holdem for his first win. This is Matt’s fourth cash at the 2011 WSOP.
